The applications of thermoelectric generators (TEGs) have received a lot of attention both in terms of harvesting waste thermal energy and the need for multi-levels of power. It is critical to track the optimum electrical operating point using DC to DC converters controlled by a pulse that is generated through a maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT). In this paper, the hardware implementation of a short-current pulse algorithm has been demonstrated under steady stated and transient conditions. In addition, the MPPT algorithm has been proposed, which is one of the most effective and applicable algorithms for obtaining the maximum power point of TEGs. During this study, the proposed prototype has been validated both analytically and experimentally. It has also demonstrated successful performance, which highlights the claimed advantages of the proposed MPPT solution.

Pose estimation of the sensor is important issue in many applications such as robotics, navigation, tracking, and Augmented Reality. This paper proposes visual-inertial integration system appropriate for dynamically moving condition of the sensor. The orientation estimated from Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor is used to calculate the essential matrix based on the intrinsic parameters of the camera. Using the epipolar geometry, the outliers of the feature point matching are eliminated in the image sequences. The pose of the sensor can be obtained from the feature point matching. The use of IMU sensor can help initially eliminate erroneous point matches in the image of dynamic scene. After the outliers are removed from the feature points, these selected feature points matching relations are used to calculate the precise fundamental matrix. Finally, with the feature point matching relation, the pose of the sensor is estimated. The proposed procedure was implemented and tested, comparing with the existing methods. Experimental results have shown the effectiveness of the technique proposed in this paper.

In this paper, a view point tracking system has been realized for outdoor augmented reality including broad area monitoring. Since the surroundings of the moving view point are changing, it is necessary to track the position and observation moment of the view point system for consistency between real and virtual images. For this reason, the GPS(Global Positioning System) is applied to the realized system for tracking the information on position and direction of the moving system. In addition, an optical position tracking system that is able to track view point in a limited area is used, because the local tracking system has to trace the image variation, seen to the observer in a moving vehicle, at a particular position and time. It was found that the realized outdoor augmented reality system, which combined the virtual information tracked in real time with the real image, can be very practical in various application area.

We have proposed a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) circuit for thermoelectric generator (TEG) using a Boost converter. The key point of the proposed MPPT circuit is that the duty ratio of the boost converter automatically moves to Maximum Power Point by comparing of consecutive sampling voltage using two comparators. From the simulation results, we showed that the proposed circuit can find the maximum power point within 2 CLK periods and to generate optimal PWM signal within 3 CLK periods. The proposed MPPT circuit was designed by using a CMOS 0.18 um process, and it is now on the fabrication.
This paper proposes a method of avoiding obstacles and tracking a moving object continuously and simultaneously by using new concepts of virtual tow point and fuzzy danger factor for differential wheeled mobile robots. Since differential wheeled mobile robot has smaller degree of freedom to control and are non-holonomic systems, there exist multiple solutions (trajectories) to control and reach a target position. The paper proposes 'fuzzy danger factor' for obstacles avoidance, 'virtual tow point' to solve non-holonomic object tracking control problem for unique solution and three kinds of fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy logic controller is policy decision controller with fuzzy danger factor to decide which controller's result is more valuable when the mobile robot is tracking a moving object with obstacles to be avoided.
Photovoltaic (PV) pumping systems with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique aims at obtaining the highest possible power to the pump under various insolation and temperature, thus overcomes the mismatch between the photovoltaic panel and the pumping load. A simple method of tracking the maximum power points and forcing the system to operate close to these points is presented in this paper. The MC68HC908GP32 micro control unit (MCU) is employed to implement the proposed MPPT controller. Experimental results will also show the performances of the photovoltaic pumping system with the MPPT technique.
This paper provides the up to date review of the shading effects on PV module performance and the associated detection algorithm related to the maximum power point tracking. It includes the brief explanations of the MMP variations due to the shading occurrence on the PV modules. Review of experimental and simulation studies highlighting the significant impacts of shading on PV efficiencies were presented. The literature indicates that even the partial shading of a single cell can greatly drop the entire module voltage and power efficiency. The MMP tracking approaches were also reviewed in this study. Both conventional and advanced soft computing methods such as ANN, FLC and EA were described for the proper tracking of MMP under shaded conditions. This paper would be the basic source and the comprehensive information associated with the shading effects and relevant MPP tracking technique.
This paper offers two Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) systems for Photovoltaic (PV) applications. The first MPPT method is based on a fixed frequency Model Predictive Control (MPC). The second MPPT technique is based on the Predictive Hysteresis Control (PHC). An experimental demonstration shows that the proposed techniques are fast, accurate and robust in tracking the maximum power under different environmental conditions. A DC/DC converter with a high voltage gain is obligatory to track PV applications at the maximum power and to boost a low voltage to a higher voltage level. For this purpose, a high gain Switched Inductor Quadratic Boost Converter (SIQBC) for PV applications is presented in this paper. The proposed converter has a higher gain than the other transformerless topologies in the literature. It is shown that at a high gain the proposed SIQBC has moderate efficiency.
In the variable-speed wind energy system, to achieve maximum power point tracking (MPPT), the wind turbine should run close to its optimal angular speed according to the wind speed. Non-linear control methods that consider the dynamic behavior of wind speed are generally used to provide maximum power and improved efficiency. In this perspective, the mechanical power is estimated using Kalman filter. And then, from the estimated mechanical power, the wind speed is estimated with Newton-Raphson method to achieve maximum power without anemometer. However, the blade shape and air density get changed with time and the generator efficiency is also degraded. This results in incorrect estimation of wind speed and MPPT. It causes not only the power loss but also incorrect wind resource assessment of site. In this paper, the adaptive maximum power point tracking control algorithm for wind turbine system based on the estimation of wind speed is proposed. The proposed method applies correction factor to wind turbine system to have accurate wind speed estimation for exact MPPT. The proposed method is validated with numerical simulations and the results show an improved performance.
This paper presents a visual tracking algorithm for the golf swing motion analysis by using the information of the pixels of video frames and movement of the golf club to solve the problem fixed center point in model based tracking method. The model based tracking method use the polynomial function for trajectory displaying of upswing and downswing. Therefore it is under the hypothesis of the no movement of the center of gravity so this method is not for the amateurs. we proposed method using the information of pixel and movement, we first detected the motion by using the information of pixel in the frames in golf swing motion. Then we extracted the club head and hand by a properties of club shaft that consist of the parallel line and the moved location of club in up-swing and down-swing. In addition, we can extract the center point of user by tracking center point of the line between center of head and both foots. And we made an experiment with data that movement of center point is big. Finally, we can track the real trajectory of club head, hand and center point by using proposed tracking algorithm.
