The elements of a medium for gathering the able bodied and the disable bodied children are examined within the scope of this study. Starting from the importance of play for the children, the characteristics and the properties of middle childhood are chosen as domain. This study showed that though most of the playground sites were accessible to Physically disabled Children, and were safety. For Physically disabled Children, the opportunities to play in a play area depend largely on the accessibility of the facilities, this study also explored the play experience of children with disability. The play spaces and the playgrounds including the equipment are examined. The results of study suggest there be creatived planning items in terms of accessibility and domain, which, in detail, are summarized in following six points; Accessibility, Barrier-free, convenience, movement, safety, domain. A guideline on the design of an accessible & safety playground for Physically disabled Children should be made.

This research is a preliminary study to improve the criteria of youth facilities which regulated in Youth Fundamental Act, with the method of Importance-Performance Analysis on youth facilities management. Evaluation inquiry had been made, and were collected from the youth facility managers who attended The Korean Youth Facility Managers' Seminar held on 24th Nov. 1994 at Pakdaljae Youth Center. The results are as follows; 1. Keep Up the Good Work : indoor facilities in community area, and outdoor facilities and accommodations in natural area are resulted in high in Importance and. Performance. They need to be operated constantly. 2. Concentrate Here : Counselling room, hobby room and outdoor meeting places in community area, and care room in natural area are perceived high in Importance but low in Performance. They need to provide proper leaders and equipment. 3. Low Priority : Care room, forest and outdoor facilities in community area, arid forest and folk playground in natural area are low in both Importance and Performance. So, it is considered that they are not necessary ones in both areas, but some outdoor facilities are so essential in natural area that they need to be provided properly. 4 Possible Overkill : Courtyard and library in community area, and outdoor facilities in natural area are low in Importance but high in Performance. They need to improve their importance through the development of applicable activity programs.

This study focuses(selected) on garden facilities of designer gardens created at the 1st and 2nd Seoul Garden Shows and examined installed facilities at each designer garden by categorization according to type, material and functions. The study observed problems occurring from maintenance of garden facilities as time passes by and collected basic data to develop maintenance guideline aiming to make contribution to further spreading and promotion of high quality garden culture. This study examined all gardens created at 1st and 2nd Seoul Garden shows in 2015 and 2016. There were 18 gardens built in 2015 and 16 in 2015.The study looked at responsible entities for maintenance of facilities and examined maintenance system for managing these gardens. Garden facilities of the study were categorized into paving, facility for rest, playground, water facility, environmental sculpture and planting media facility according to categorization by landscape design standards and construction guidelines. Target gardens of this study are maintained mostly by citizen gardeners who are passionately carrying out maintenance work while communicating with designers. However, these citizen gardeners lack technical knowledge to manage various facilities. Also, maintenance manuals submitted by garden designers do not offer sufficient details on facility maintenance which calls for professional maintenance and clear instructions on facilities from early phase of design.
This study revised a model for hydrologically analyzing rainwater harvesting facilities considering their rainfall-runoff properties and the data available. This model has only a few parameters, which can be estimated with rather poor measurements available. The model has a non-linear module for rainfall loss, and the remaining rainfall excess (effective rainfall) is assumed to be inflow to the storage tank. This model has been applied for the rainwater harvesting facilities in Seoul National University, Korea Institute of Construction Technology, and the Daejon World Cup Stadium. As a result, the runoff coefficients estimated were about 0.9 for the building roof as a rainwater collecting surface and about 0.18 for the playground. This result is coincident with that for designing the rainwater harvesting facilities to show the accuracy of model and the simulation results.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual conditions of external space of middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. This article discuses about the characteristics of the external space and the site plan type of 49 middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. The result of analysis about site plan type, composition state of external space and area ratio of its composition of each middle and high school facilities are as follows: In facilities arrangement of middle and high schools, it shows diverse forms of arrangement from existing uniform straight type, however, most of schools do not being against the simple in their external space. Especially, for the area is small in the composition of external space, a playground is only under $50m{\times}80m$ and outdoor learning space or resting space is not secured sufficiently. Therefore, it requires an expansion of space size and facilities for the change of school life outside class.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to residential satisfaction, and to examine the rural housing and village environment which enable to derive what should be considered in the future rural housing improvement. Data were collected by questionnaire survey in 11 rural villages - suburban rural area, plain rural area, intermediate rural area, mountainous rural area. The major findings are as follows: 1) The rural residents rather dissatisfied with'management/maintenance','economic value','facade'in housing level, The overall housing satisfaction level was just medium(neither satisfied nordissatisfied). 2) They also dissatisfied with'playground for children','education condition','medical facilities', 'market'in village level. The overa'll village satisfaction level was just above average(slightly satisfied). 3) Vrom the result of ANOVA test, there are no significant differences in residents evaluation for tiousing and village attributes among 4 rural areas. 4) Factor analysis identified six rural housing environmental factors:'inside utilities','housing size' 'aesthetic aspects','safety','privacy','outside utilities'. 5) For the rural village environments six important factors were derived :'public services','commercial convenience facilities','social interaction','environmental pollution','amenity','agricultural service facilities'.
This study was conducted to investigate the actual conditions on housing and facilities for goat. This investigation of the actual conditions was investigated by the style of farm which was divided into sideline scale and speciality scale included 47 farms. The results are summarized as follows: Rearing scale was 48.9% for 50-100 heads per farm. Rearing type was 46.8% for grazing type and 53.2% for barn type. Housing type was 27.7% for simple frame housing and 72.3% for permanent housing. Pipe was used 80.8% with Pillar and Girder as the housing frame at farm. For the pipe used in farm, 27.7% of them was used for simple frame housing. Side wall was composed of cement and winch curtain to be 29.8%, slate roof to be 40.4%, pipe partition to be 38.3%, and cement floor to be 51.1%. Materials of feeding trough were wood and Zinc grater to be 41.5%, respectively. Type of feeding trough was square to be 70.2%. The feeding trough was located in barn to be 48.9%. Material of water supply facilities was plastic to be 87.2%. Type of water supply facilities was mostly square to be 76.6%. Water-trough was located in playground to be 48.9%. Parturition facilities were consisted of partition structure by group to be 42.5% and were mainly composed of pipe and wood. 46.8% of the barn did not have delivery room in the farm.
The purpose of this study was to find the adolescents' use and satisfaction toward outdoor space of middle and high schools with excellent facilities in Daejeon area. Six middle and high schools in Daejon area and 423 students, who were attending 'Excellent Facilities Schools', were selected. Questionnaire survey was conducted. Main results were as following: 1) The playground was found to be the most frequently visiting space, and bench and piloti were found to be the second most popular spaces among adolescents. The visiting frequency of outdoor space was higher for the ㅁ-shaped by type of inner court, for the $2^{nd}$ by floor of classroom, for high-schoolers by grade. 2) Respondents were satisfied more when the inner court is ㅁ-shaped than the others, when it is easy to access resulting from low floor classroom, when respondents visited the space frequently and stay longer, and when the outdoor facilities were in good conditions.
This study was conducted to obtain a basic information related to a more systematic safety education and measures against children's accidents by a descriptive survey with regard to accidents actually experienced by elementary schoolers, their perceived safety education activities and school facilities to their safety lives. The data was collected among 1,654 pupils, belonging to the 5th and 6th grades in Pusan from Nov. 20 to Dec. 1, 2000. The data was analyzed using SPSSWIN(7.5). The results were as follows ; 1. According to the perception by elementary schoolers, they received safety life instruction at school in most cases from teachers in charge of their own class (41.0%). Such safety education was provided often during formal classes(24.4%). Traffic guidance was given by parents, highest in frequency(67.3%). 2. Matters as most often treated during safety life instruction were safety knowledge or dangerous things(37.5%). A majority of notices of school safety instruction were presented sometimes(48.4%). Source of knowledge about safety lives included teacher (35.3%), parents(32.9%), TV and newspaper (29.9%). As a source of knowledge of emergency treatment, school nurses were accounted for 41.3% that was highest. 3.Among the 1,654 students, 91.8% experienced at least more than one case of safety accident. The most frequent type and cause of safety accident were wound(33.7%). and self-carelessness(38.4%) respectively. In most cases, the subject experienced such accident during a break time(32.2%) and at a playgrounds. Part of body as most often damaged by accidents were arms and legs, 25.4% higher than any other sides problem solving measures against the accident were taken by school nurse in most cases, 44.8% in percentage point. 4. Those students' perceived safety management of school facilities showed that they considered classroom facilities as most safe (61.6%), while playground facilities as least safe(42.8%). They also responded that the treatment of glass fragments or stones at playground is the most important item of safety management.

Hazardous chemicals can be released from artificial turf used in some school playgrounds. To distinguish between Health risk assessment (HRA) exposure scenarios for this study, the ratio of elementary, middle and high schools was considered before final selection. Considering exposure pathways (inhalational, oral and dermal), media and materials were examined, targeting hazardous chemicals released from artificial turf playground-related products. Upon evaluation, the quantity of infill chips was shown to exceed the domestic product content standard (90 mg/kg) at eight (16%) out of 50 schools. PAHs were shown to exceed standards (10 mg/kg) at two (4%) out of the 50 schools. The excess cancer risk (ECR) of carcinogens was shown to be $1{\times}10^{-6}$ in most users for the worst exposure scenario. In children with pica, who represented the most extreme exposure group, the ECR was expected to be as high as $1{\times}10^{-4}$, showing the low risk level of carcinogens. The hazard index (HI) for individual chemicals was shown to be low, at around 0.1 or less, except for children with pica, according to the mean exposure scenario of artificial turf playground exposure. However, the HI was shown to exceed 1.0 in children with pica. Therefore, no direct health risk was found in using artificial turf playgrounds and urethane flooring tracks for the mean exposure scenario, except in children with pica.
