  • Multimedia Broadcast communication convergence services are broadcast communication convergence services new form that combines a platform technology for driving the application services of various media-related Internet and TV devices. It is possible to mounted the embedded OS of TV existing technology and to support a variety of smart application services to a TV technology evolved form equipped with various platforms on the OS. The services that are fused in this way, multi-media broadcasting communication convergence new services Open IPTV, Smart TV, mobile IPTV, and N-screen, are services actively focusing on three companies domestic services. However, in order to use the software to connect to the Internet for the provision of services, is inherent software vulnerabilities or the Internet. These vulnerabilities can lead to serious security incidents. Therefore, in this paper, or be able to derive the potential security threats that occur in multimedia broadcasting service environment based on security threats and vulnerabilities of existing threats lead to such security incidents in fact, the security it was carried out through a mock hacking validation for threats. It was also suggested necessary technical security measures that can be protect against security threats revealed by using the verification result through the penetration testing. Has been presented countermeasures in fusion communication service environment of multimedia broadcasting by using these results.

Design of Embodiment-based Programming Education using Arduino for Middle School Students (중학생을 대상으로 한 아두이노를 활용한 체현 기반 프로그래밍 교육 설계)

  • We propose an practical embodiment-based programming training course for middle school students using Arduino and conduct survey before and after the curriculum. Arduino is an open source physical computing platform that integrates the IDE used in processing language. It is a low-cost, relatively simple I/O interface compared to other platforms, and because of its practical formability, it is educational material suitable for programming. Subsequent surveys will provide feedback on changes in cognition of programming needs and improvement in thinking skills. In this study, the program based on embody-based programming using Arduino was conducted for 8 weeks for each first grade, and 112 middle school students for two years from '16 to '17. Based on the theoretical and practical training, the training was based on the application of the ultrasonic sensor to the RC car and the preparation of the adduction quadrotor drone. The purpose of this study is to prove that the recognition, necessity, and programming education of middle school students are effective for the improvement of thinking ability through the program based on embody-based programming using Arduino.

  • In recent times, with the development of virtual convergence technologies, the market for the Metaverse, a digitally virtual space that combines virtuality and reality, is experiencing significant growth. These Metaverses are realizing new value in both reality and virtual spaces through the development of diverse services and content. However, existing research on the Metaverse mostly revolves around its conceptualization and categorization, with limited exploration of intentions to use the Metaverse. Consequently, this study examined the impact of Metaverse service characteristic factors on trust and intention to use within the Metaverse. The results of this study are as follows. First, among the service characteristic factors of the Metaverse, presence, interactivity, and playfulness were found to have a positive impact on Metaverse trust. On the other hand, informativeness was found not to have a significant influence on trust in the Metaverse. Second, Metaverse trust was found to have a positive impact on intention to use the Metaverse. Based on the research results above, this study aims to propose effective communication strategies for activating the Metaverse and developing services within the Metaverse platform.

  • Apple recently announced a new policy about software development kit that banned the use of tools that convert apps built on other platforms into iPhone apps. Therefore, Adobe cannot develop their software to AppStore that inquire to the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission about antitrust actions. Someone argue that Apple try to exclusive smartphone market such as the Microsoft antitrust lawsuit in 1998, but this case is essentially different. First, it need to define Apple's software development kit for iPhone and iPad is whether antitrust or not. Because of the characteristics of two-sided market in Smartphone Apple's iPhone cannot monopoly in cellphone or smartphone market, but it can be an antitrust in application store market. However, Apple re-announced new software development kit policy that shows positive results. Instead of hastily intervened regulatory agencies, the DOJ or the FTC, it is quite desirable that watching the interaction between companies that whether market failures or not and if it's harmful for consumer's benefit. Adobe attack Apple to advocate consumers and developers freedom of choice, but the most important thing is conclusion based on a comprehensive analysis need to objective point of view that Apple do whether antitrust act or not and damage to developers and consumers who are both side of platform.

A Framework of Intelligent Middleware for DNA Sequence Analysis in Cloud Computing Environment (DNA 서열 분석을 위한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 지능형 미들웨어 설계)

  • The development of NGS technologies, such as scientific workflows, has reduced the time required for decoding DNA sequences. Although the automated technologies change the genome sequence analysis environment, limited computing resources still pose problems for the analysis. Most scientific workflow systems are pre-built platforms and are highly complex because a lot of the functions are implemented into one system platform. It is also difficult to apply components of pre-built systems to a new system in the cloud environment. Cloud computing technologies can be applied to the systems to reduce analysis time and enable simultaneous analysis of massive DNA sequence data. Web service techniques are also introduced for improving the interoperability between DNA sequence analysis systems. The workflow-based middleware, which supports Web services, DBMS, and cloud computing, is proposed in this paper for expecting to reduceanalysis time and aiding lightweight virtual instances. It uses DBMS for managing the pipeline status and supporting the creation of lightweight virtual instances in the cloud environment. Also, the RESTful Web services with simple URI and XML contents are applied for improving the interoperability. The performance test of the system needs to be conducted by comparing results other developed DNA analysis services at the stabilization stage.

The Effects of Cesium, Strontium and Cobalt on Cell Toxicity in the 2D and 3D Cell Culture Platforms (단층 및 입체 세포배양환경에서 세슘, 스트론튬 및 코발트가 세포 독성에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • Currently, there are 442 operating nuclear power plants in the world, and 62 more are under construction. According to this reasoning, the treatment of radioactive waste is important to prevent the environmental ecosystem including humans, animals, and plants. Especially, a leakage of radioactive waste causes not only regional problem but also serious global one. In this study, we demonstrate the effect of radioisotopes (e.g., cesium, strontium, and cobalt) on a 3D culture cell. To develop the 3D cell culture system, we used a 96-well-culture plate with biocompatible agarose hydrogel. Using this method, we can perform the 3D cell culture system with three different cell lines such as HeLa, HepG2, and COS-7. In addition, we conducted a cell viability test in the presence of radioisotopes. Interestingly, the 3D morphological cells showed 42% higher cell viability than those on the 2D against cesium. This result indicates that the 3D platform provides cells morphological and physiological characteristic similar to in vivo grown tissues. Moreover, it overcomes the limitation of conventional cell culture system that can't reflect in vivo systems. Finally, we believe that the proposed approach can be applied a new strategy for simple high-throughput screening and accurate evaluation of metal toxicity assay.

  • E-commerce is gradually upgrading from traditional text and image formats to short video and livestreaming formats. Livestreaming e-commerce enriches the content and forms of information dissemination and product display, enhances the consumer's shopping experience, and gradually becomes the mainstream new consumer scene. However, there are many negative phenomena in the development of livestreaming e-commerce, such as false propaganda, counterfeit goods, and various negative events, which seriously affect the level of consumer trust in livestreaming e-commerce. Trust is the core competitive factor of livestreaming e-commerce. Based on previous research on trust theory and combined with the characteristic elements of "people, goods, and scenes" of livestreaming e-commerce, this article constructs a trust model for livestreaming e-commerce, proposes hypotheses, and proves through empirical research that factors such as store characteristics, livestream host characteristics, brand image, product information, platform reputation, livestreaming situation, and trust tendency have a significant positive impact on consumer trust. Based on the research conclusions, this article provides insights and management suggestions, such as emphasizing the construction of store characteristic indicators, creating desirable livestream host characteristics, focusing on product brand building and selection, maintaining the display of product information, selecting suitable livestreaming platforms, and creating rich content for livestreaming situations.

A Study on the DID based Smart Remocon and FIDO Transaction Certification for Home-shopping (DID 기반의 스마트 리모콘과 홈쇼핑 FIDO 거래인증 연구)

  • In this paper, the FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) transaction certification platform was proposed for applying the DID (Decentralized ID) of blockchain with home shopping channels to the IPTV service providers based on the Remocon (Remote Control). In this case, the DID based smart remocon applies biometric identification techniques for personal identification. These individual DID smart remote controls apply distributed ID blockchain, enabling home shopping viewers to conduct reliable ratings surveys through the detection of channel changed information. In addition, this smart remocon utilizes the product purchased information history on home shopping channels, allowing IPTV's home shopping viewers to compare the same broadcasted production information on all channels by blockchain technique and their production characteristics. IPTV service providers can process home shopping order/authorization informations in one-stop service via a number of home shopping broadcasting companies, and DID smart remote controls for home shopping viewers with the checking results of their real-time online access to confirm the FIDO2.0 transaction certification homepage. Thus, the FIDO transaction authentication platforms of IPTV service provider(Telecommunication company) can be expected to improve the benefits of home shopping customers, and to reduce the broadcasting companies' burden of payment, too.

  • A tugboat (tug) is a boat that maneuvers vessels by pushing or towing them. Tugs move vessels that should not move themselves alone, such as ships in a crowded harbor or a narrow canal, or those that cannot move themselves, such as barges, disabled ships, or oil platforms. Tugboats are powerful for their size and strongly built, some are ocean-going. Historically tugboats were the first seagoing vessels to receive steam propulsion, freedom from the restraint of the wind, and capability of going in any direction. As such, they were employed in harbors to assist ships in docking and departure. Towage is in essence a service by one vessel to another vessel for a fixed remuneration. The most common reason for requiring this service is the lack of its own motive power. Conventionally, towage is defined as "the employment of one vessel to expedite the voyage of another, when nothing more is required than the accelerating of her progress". Apart from accelerating vessels, acquiring towage service is a common practice for towing barges, platform of drilling oil, floating ship yards, etc.

  • Mobile Devices, which are developed with the fast growing of the Internet, have flexible internet accessibility and can access the network anywere so that they can execute software applications. However, it is very challenging to deploy highly complex applications on mobile devices since they have limited resources. To overcome the limitation, researches on applying a concept of services to mobile applications have been proposed. Android is one of the popular mobile platforms and is designed to effectively execute mobile applications on the mobile devices having limited resources. Since service-based Android applications, which adopt a concept of services and Android platform, invoke remote services and are built with Android-specific components, they are much different from traditional software applications. Consequently, it is not straightforward to apply object-oriented (OO) analysis and design methods to developing service-based Android applications, although they have been frequently applied to developing traditional applications. In this paper, we present a process to develop service-based Android mobile applications, which extends a traditional OO development process. First, we raise design issues to be considered in developing service-based Android applications. Then, to solve the issues, we present detailed guidelines for essential phases of OO-based development process that are customized to service-based Android applications. Finally, to show applicability of the process, we perform a case study. The proposed design process is effectively utilized as a set of guidelines to develop service-based Android applications more systematically and effectively.
