In this study, $20\;Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator which can be apply to the hydrogen station was manufactured and tested. The design of $20\;Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator was upgraded on the base of $5\;Nm^3/hr$ scale plate hydrogen generator concept stacking the plate reactors. Ideas for improving system efficiency such as heat recovery from the exhaust, exhaust duct which is especially design for plate type reactor, reinforcement of insulation, enlargement of heat exchange area of reactor, introduction of desulphurizer reactor and PROX rector in a compact design etc. were applied. From the performance test, we can learn that the $20\;Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator can be operated steadily at 100% road condition and the methane conversion of over 94%(at S/C=3.75) was obtained. This result shows that the concept of plate type hydrogen generator can be scale-up to the $20\;Nm^3/hr$ scale and fit for hydrogen generator for on site hydrogen station application.
In this study, $20Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator which can be apply to the hydrogen station was tested for hydrogen station application. $20Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator was developed by upgrading concept of stacking plate reactor from former $20Nm^3/hr$ scale plate hydrogen generator. concepts for improving system efficiency and performance include such as idea of heat recovery from the exhaust, exhaust duct which is especially design for plate type reactor reinforcement of insulation, enlargement of heat exchange area of reactor, introduction of desulphurizer reactor and PROX rector in a compact design, introduction of back fire protection structure of plate burner and so on, We can learn that final prototype of scale-up $20Nm^3/hr$ scale compact hydrogen generator can be operated steadily in 100% road at which over 94% of methane conversion(S/C=3.75) was obtained. In case of making up the weak point, we expect that it is possible to apply to hydrogen station by way of showing an example.

Although fibrous insulations are generally used with resistive insulation type, metallic insulation is proper matter to satisfy low head-loss and equipment life when considering the specific condition, especially for Nuclear power plant. Common insulation is resistance insulation with a low thermal conductivity. but RMI is made of sheet plate with low emissivity and closed air space. Thermal radiation is blocked by stainless steel with low emissivity. Thermal conductivity and thermal convection are blocked by closed air space. This study shows the changes and effects of the heat loss according to shape and method of stacking sheet plates inserted into the insulation and analyzed the most optimized way for thermal insulation performance. The result shows that using sheet plate structure through raised and protruding shape processing was the appropriate model to optimize thermal performance. Additionally, insulating performance of RMI improved by placing the sheet plate in a high temperature region intensively.

In this study, we fabricated plate-type shunt resistors with thermal stability by parallelly connecting metal alloy plates with positive temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) plates with negative TCR. The metal alloy plates, which were prepared by alloying Cu and Mn with a composition of 91 wt% of Cu and 9 wt% of Mn, showed around $800ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR, and the CNT plates prepared from the CNT solution by using the vacuum filtration method showed around $-800ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR. The shunt resistor that was fabricated by stacking metal alloy plates and CNT plates in this work showed about $46.93ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR. Therefore, we conclude that a shunt resistor with low TCR can be realized by simply adjusting the TCR of the metal alloy only, because the TCR of the CNT plate has an identical value.

An analytical model was developed to investigate the flexural behavior of a pultruded fiber-reinforced plastic deck of rectangular unit module. The model is based on first-order shea. deformable plate theory (FSDT), and capable of predicting deflection of the deck of arbitrary laminate stacking sequences. To formulate tile problem, two-dimensional plate finite element method is employed. Numerical results are obtained for FRP decks under uniformly-distributed loading, addressing the effects of fiber angle and span-to-height ratio. It is found that the present analytical model is accurate and efficient for solving flexural behavior of FRP decks. Also, as the height of FRP deck plate is higher, the necessity of higher order Shear deformable plate theory(HSDT) is announced, not the FSDT in the plate analysis theory.
The object of this study is to investigate the penetration characteristics according to the change of stacking sequences and curvature radius in the composite laminated shell. They are staked to [02/902]S and [0/902/0]s, their interlaminar number are two and four. We are manufactured to composite laminated shells with various curvature radius. Curvature radius of composite shell is 100, 150, 200mm and ${\infty}$(it's meaning flat-plate). In general, kinetic energy after impact-kinetic energy before impact increased linearly in all specimens. Absorbed energy increased linearly as the curvature increased, and absorbed energy of [02/902]S specimen, which is small interlaminar number, was higher than [0/902/0]s specimen.

This work presents the experimental and FEM results for the free vibration of cantilevered, symmetrically and antisymmetrically laminated composite rectangular plates. The natural frequencies, mode shapes and contour plots of a number of CFRP, GFRP, DFRP-Aluminum, GFRP-Aluminum and DFRP-GFRP hybrid composite plates are experimentally obtained. Determination of Young's modulus and test procedures are described. The natural frequencies are determined for a wide range of parameters : e.g. , composite material constants, fiber angles and stacking sequences. Natural frequency and nondimensional frequency parameter results are compared with the finite element analysis and existing literatures. Agreement between experimental and calculated frequencies is excellent. The effects of varing the parameters upon the free vibration frequencies and mode shapes are discussed.

In this paper, polymer composites based sandwich structures like beams and plates are optimised by using parametric study. The structures are composed of fibre reinforced composites for facial material and resin concrete and PVC foam for core materials. The stacking sequences and thickness of the composites are controlled as major parameters to find out the optimal condition for machine tool components. For the plate structure of machine tool bed composites-skined sandwich structure which has several ribs are proposed to enhance bending stiffnesses in two major directions at the same time. Dynamic robustness of a machine tool structure is investigated using modal analysis. From the results optimal configuration and materials for high precesion machine tools are proposed. And the plate was made of fiber reforced composite material and PVC foam.
Motivated by needs such as those in the aerospace industry, this paper demonstrates ability to significantly increase buckling loads of perforated composite laminated plates by synergizing FEM and a genetic optimization algorithm (GA). Plate geometry is discretized into specially-developed 3D degenerated eight-node shell isoparametric layered composite elements. General shell theory, involving incremental nonlinear finite element equilibrium equation, is employed. Fiber orientation within individual plies of each element is controlled independently by the genetic algorithm. Eigen buckling analysis is performed using the subspace iteration method. Available results demonstrate the approach is superior to more conventional methodologies such as modifying ply thickness or the stacking sequence of individual rectilinear plies having common fiber orientation through the plate.
The most of the design engineers for construction has academic background of bachelors degree. Theories for advanced composite structures are too difficult for such engineers and some simple but accurate enough methods are necessary. The senior author has reported that some laminate orientations have decreasing values of $D_{16}$, $B_{16}$, $D_{26}$ and $B_{26}$ stiffnesses as the ply number increases. Such plates behave as special orthotropic plates and simple formulas developed by the author can be used. Most of the bridge and building slabs on girders have large aspect ratios. For such cases further simplification is possible by neglecting the effect of the longitudinal moment terms($M_x$) on the relevant partial differential equations of equilibrium. In this paper, the result of the study on the subject problem is presented.
