  • Idiopathic hyperhidrosis is a physically and emotionally distressing symptom, which lacks a precise definition. Although operative and nonoperative methods have been shown to be effective in the treatment of idiopathic hyperhidrosis, limitations, cautions and complications are inherent in their extended use. The purpose of this report is to describe the theraputetic effects of magnetic resonance for managing idiopathic hyperhidrosis. A 28 years old woman had been suffering from profuse sweating on both planter and palmar sides for 15 years. We successfully treated this symptom with the 6 magnetic resonance treatments without any complications. Now she lives well in a condition of normal sweating after the applications. It suggest that short daily periods of exposure to appropriate magnetic resonance can beneficially modulate the balance of autonomic nervous system that are responsible for sympathetic overflow, and that there is an effective window of induced electrical magnetism in which sympathetic function can be controlled in the absence of side effects.

  • In this study, among the parts of oil vapor collectors that are already being produced, weaving wire brush automatic transplanters for oil vapor collectors for machine tools of the weaving fixing method, which are not automated due to the specificity of the process and are being produced manually, are developed and reliability is secured through performance evaluation. did Oil vapor collectors play an important role in removing air pollutants and improving air quality, and the coagulation effect of the collection technology is mostly due to brushes. In the experiment, an automatic transplanter was developed to automatically manufacture and produce the wire brush of the oil vapor collector, which is manufactured and used manually. For the experiment of the developed wire brush, an experimental chamber was built, and performance and durability were evaluated through the dust collection efficiency evaluation using the electrostatic precipitator method of contaminants (oil mist). Through this study, we intend to reduce the production time and unit cost of collectors and improve the environment at industrial sites.

  • Objectives : The objective of this study is to investigate Anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of Clematidis Radix (CR) herbal-acupuncture on the test rats with induced acute pain. Methods : The effects of Clematidis Radix (CR)-distillates were investigated in three types of models with three different pain. Highly purified distillate of CR called CR herbal-acupuncture was injected to Zusanli ($ST_{36}$) acupoint. In the tail flick test, the CR herbal-acupuncture treatment did not show a significant effect of relieving acute pain. To investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of CR herbal-acupuncture, the second testing model'pain was induced by injecting formalin to its planter. For the last model, carrageenan was injected into tarsal joint. the medicinal effect of CR herbal-acupuncture was evaluated through the behavioral analyses such as licking time, weight distribution ratio and ankle circumference. Results : In the formalin test, the analgesic effect of CR herbal-acupuncture was more pronounced in the late phase (for 20 min after the early phase) than in the early phase (for the first 10 min post formalin injection). It was proven by weight distribution ratio testing and ankle edema testing that herbal-acupuncture of CR inhibited arthritis caused by the carrageenan. Conclusions : These results revealed that CR herbal-acupuncture was effective to alleviate the inflammatory pain and could be used as an analgesic treatment with an anti-inflammatory effect.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of active foot arch support on the muscles of lower extremity electromyographic activity during squat exercise in persons with pronated foot. Methods: The study subjects were 16 persons with pronated foot. They have no history of surgery in lower extremity and trunk and limitation of range of motion or pain when performing squat exercise. Each subject was measured the navicular drop (ND) to determine the pronated foot. And then the subjects were asked to perform three repetitions of a $90^{\circ}$ knee flexion squat in both conditions which are 1) preferred squat and 2) squat with active foot arch support. Results: Paired t-test revealed that squat with active foot arch support produced significantly greater EMG activities in abductor hallucis (p=0.00), proneus longus (p=0.03) and gluteus medius (p=0.04) than preferred squat. But the EMG activities of tibialis anterior, vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis were not showed significantly different between the both squat conditions. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that active foot arch support during squat increase the activities of lower extremity muscles which are the abductor hallucis, proneus longus and gluteus medius. Also, the abductor hallucis which is one of the planter intrinsic muscle and peroneus longus play a role in support of the foot arch and active foot arch support induced the increase of the activity of gluteus medius. Therefore active foot arch support can change the lower extremity biomechanics as well as passive foot support such as foot orthotics and taping.

  • This study is conducted to analyze effects of soil moisture on the growth of maple(Acer palmatum) under indoor low light intensity. Maples grew under three different light intensities such as sunny place(average 353.2W/$m^2$), half shade(average 7.7 W/$m^2$) and shade/(average 1.9W/$m^2$).Under half shady and shady condition, each 24 planters(2 maples planted in each planter) were used and divided into 3 groups treated with different watering points. Three levels of soil water potential were set for watering points, such as -200mbar, -300mbar or -500mbar. Under sunny condition, there were only group of 8 planters, as comparison. Watering was applied when soil water potentials reached -500maber. The results of plant growth experiment are as followed. 1. Under the shady condition, 32 maples died among 48 maples for 7 months. 9 maples survived, watered at soil water potential -200mbar, 5maples at -300mbar and 2maples at -500mbar. 2. Leaf water content ratios were higher under lower light intensity. For the cell wall became thinner under lower light intensity. 3. Maples in shady were easy to die due to having thin cell wall, therefore they were easy to loss the turgor pressure. 4. In case of half shady condition, the group, watered at soil water potential -200mbar, had much smaller amount of rootlet than -300mbar, because there were excessive soil water. The group, watered at soil water potential -500mbar, had smaller amount of rootlet than -300mbar and there was a remarkable difference in leaf water potential in spite of nearly same soil water potential, because leaves received the water stress under lower soil water potential. 5. When maples grew soundly, the leaf water potential was largely influenced by the soil water potential.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine if an exercise program with vertical vibration can improve balance, walking speed, muscle strength and falls efficacy in the healthy elderly. METHODS: A total of 28 elderly were randomly divided into two groups: vertical vibration exercise group (exercise with vertical vibration) (N = 14) and control group (exercise without vibration) (N = 14). The exercise program, comprising calf raise, deep-squat, semi-squat, front lunge, and leg abduction was conducted with or without vibration, respectively. Subjects in each group participated in the 30 minutes training program, 2 times per week for 6 weeks. In both groups, the balance evaluation system (BT4) was used to evaluate standing balance, and walking speed was measured using the 10MWT. The manual muscle test system was applied to evaluate the knee extensor and ankle planter flexor muscle strength of the subjects, whereas the Korean falls efficacy scale (K-FES) evaluated the falls efficacy. RESULTS: After intervention, the vertical vibration group showed significantly higher changes compared to the control group, in the parameters of standing balance (P < .05), 10MWT (P < .05), left knee extensor (P < .05), right knee extensor (P < .01), both ankle plantar flexors (P < .05), and K-FES (P < .05). CONCLUSION: The exercise program with vertical vibration has the potential to improve balance, walking speed, muscle power and falls efficacy in the elderly.

  • Purpose: To reduce the costs of potato seeds and labor of workers, a fully automatic in-situ seeding machine for cutting seed potatoes was developed. Methods: An experiment was conducted to evaluate the seeder performance of the prototype of potato planter by cutting seeds in farmlands from March to April 2017. The study tested the seeder performance at working speeds ranging from 0.28 to 0.45 m/s. The seeding rate and seeding distance were also investigated according to the planned distance between planted seeds from 20 to 30 cm, with 5 cm intervals. Results: Tests on the performance of the developed cutting blade on the automatic potato seeder show that whole potatoes should be used instead of half potatoes. The seeding rates were 88.8% and 82.5% for whole and half potatoes, respectively. When the tractor working speed was increased from 0.28 to 0.45 m/s, the successful seeding rate decreased from 98.8% to 96.3%, respectively. However, with planted seed distances of 20, 25, and 30 cm, the successful seeding rates were near 98%. Conclusions: The developed automatic potato seeder can to improve the labor productivity and cultivation environment of potato farms by the mechanization of the seeding process, which is currently associated with high-labor, -costs, and -hours. Therefore, based on this study, the developed automatic potato seeder provides the mechanization necessary for improved potato cultivation conditions in farmlands.

  • Physical activity has been increased with increased leasure time. Specifically, due to our mountainous geographical benefits, people actively participate in hiking and climbing as regular daily activities. Thus, more stable and comfortable hiking boots are required to walk on uneven and sloped rocky surface for a long period of time. 5 male subjects were recruited for testing planter pressure patterns of four different conditions(barefoot, classic hiking boot, stiffness 60 and stiffness 65). Tested hiking boots(stiffness 60 and stiffness 65) consists of the multiple pieces of outsoles as they are designed for a better shock absorption. In the results, some positive aspects of stiffness 60 and stiffness 65 such as wide contact area and powerful propulsive patterns at take off was observed compared to the classic hiking boots. Therefore, biomechanical development of hiking related clothes and footwear as well as equipment would be beneficial for people who enjoy hiking to maximize their quality of activities.
