  • This paper presents an underwater hybrid navigation system for a semi-autonomous underwater vehicle (SAUV). The navigation system consists of an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a Doppler velocity log (DVL), accompanied by a magnetic compass. The errors of inertial measurement units increase with time, due to the bias errors of gyros and accelerometers. A navigational system model is derived, to include the scale effect and bias errors of the DVL, of which the state equation composed of the navigation states and sensor parameters is 20. The conventional extended Kalman filter was used to propagate the error covariance, update the measurement errors, and correct the state equation when the measurements are available. Simulation was performed with the 6-d.o,f equations of motion of SAUV, using a lawn-mowing survey mode. The hybrid underwater navigation system shows good tracking performance, by updating the error covariance and correcting the system's states with the measurement errors from a DVL, a magnetic compass, and a depth sensor. The error of the estimated position still slowly drifts in the horizontal plane, about 3.5m for 500 seconds, which could be eliminated with the help of additional USBL information.

  • It is analyzed the erosing process of the polymeric insulator for outdoor use with the inclined plane method. Materials used are the different type of silicone rubber, they have the content of filler and component each other. As the content of filler added to improve the tracking and erosion resistance. It has the difference of electrical performance and erosion rate. The dry-band arc is also the parameter of accelerating erosion, and appear in the form of leakage current, and the activities of leakage current has a close relationship with the surface hydrophobicity. In this paper, the erosion growth is observed by measuring the time from the voltage application to the whole breakdown, and the erosion depth. In addition, it is measured the hydrophobicity and leakage current to be a cause of erosion by the erosion steps, studied SEM, EDX for observing the transformation of surface structure by erosing.

비젼을 이용한 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 자세제어 (Motion Control of Robot Manipulators using Visual Feedback)

  • 본 논문에서는 로봇 말단부에 장착된 카메라 환경에서 시각 궤환을 이용하는 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 자세제어 기법을 제안한다. 자세제어를 위한 기준 관절 속도와 관절 가속도는 외부루프의 특징점을 이용한 영상정보에서 생성된다. 영상평면상에서 특징점을 추종하기 위한 제어 입력은 로봇 동역학을 사용하였다. 영상평면상의 특징점과 관절 각속도 오차를 로봇 구동을 위한 제어입력에 포함시켜 파라미터 불확실성에 강인하도록 하였다. 시스템의 안정도는 Lyapunov 안정도 판별법을 이용하여 입증하였다. 제안된 제어기의 성능은 5-링크 2 자유도를 가지는 로봇에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

Optimal Control Design for Automatic Ship Berthing by Using Bow and Stern Thrusters

  • Conventionally, because it is difficult to control a ship in shallow water and because attempting to do so creates unwanted environmental effects, maneuvering ships in the harbor area for berthing is usually done with the assistance of tugboats. In this paper, we propose a new method for berthing ships automatically by using bow and stern thrusters. Specifically, a steering motion model of a ship is considered, and parameters in the equation are evaluated by the system identification technique. An optimal controller based on observations was designed from the linearization of the non-linear ship motion in the horizontal plane. It is used to reduce the uncertainty about the ship's dynamics and reduce measurement requirements. The performance of the controller was also analyzed for its robustness relative to avoiding disturbing the environment due to winds, currents, and wave-drift forces. Experiments were conducted to estimate the potential for identifying result and the design of the controller. Specifically, in this paper, the system modeling and tracking control approach are discussed based on a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) servo-system design.

분산모듈형 태양광 전력조절기의 독립운전 제어 (Control Method of Distributed-Module Type Photovoltaic Power Conditioners under Stand-alone Operation)

  • This paper proposes a control method under stand-alone operating mode for distributed-module type photovoltaic power conditioners. In conventional schemes, there are some problems of a controller saturation in the DC-link (or load) voltage controller when overly-heavy load, light load, and the generated PV power reduction occurs, as well as when a transition occurs from an overly-loaded to normal conditions. To overcome these problems, the proposed controller method switches the main control target from DC-link voltage to the maximum power point, which is closer to the stable operating point when it returns to normal operating conditions. For the analysis, a state-plane trajectory was given and the circuit analysis by PSIM simulation was done. For the verification, a prototype hardware with 110[W] and 50[W] dual photovoltaic modules has been implemented. From the results, it can be seen that PV power tracking is successfully done with the proposed method even under a stand-alone operation mode.

선박 자동접안시스템 구축을 위한 기초연구 (A Study on the Development of Automatic Ship Berthing System)

  • In this paper vector code correlation(VCC) method and an algorithm to promote the image processing performance in building an effective measurement system using cameras are described for automatically berthing and controlling the ship equipped with side thrusters. In order to realize automatic ship berthing, it is indispensable that the berthing assistant system on the ship should continuously trace a target in the berth to measure the distance to the target and the ship attitude, such that we can make the ship move to the specified location. The considered system is made up of 4 apparatuses compounded from a CCD camera, a camera direction controller, a popular PC with a built in image processing board and a signal conversion unit connected to parallel port of the PC. The object of this paper is to reduce the image processing time so that the berthing system is able to ensure the safety schedule against risks during approaching to the berth. It could be achieved by composing the vector code image to utilize the gradient of an approximated plane found with the brightness of pixels forming a certain region in an image and verifying the effectiveness on a commonly used PC. From experimental results, it is clear that the proposed method can be applied to the measurement system for automatic ship berthing and has the image processing time of fourfold as compared with the typical template matching method.

IoT-based low-cost prototype for online monitoring of maximum output power of domestic photovoltaic systems

  • This paper presents a low-cost prototype for monitoring online the maximum power produced by a domestic photovoltaic (PV) system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The most common tracking algorithms (P&O, InCond, HC, VSS InCond, and FL) were first simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and then implemented in a low-cost microcontroller (Arduino). The current, voltage, load current, load voltage, power at the maximum power point, duty cycle, module temperature, and in-plane solar irradiance are monitored. Using IoT technology, users can check in real time the change in power produced by their installation anywhere and anytime without additional effort or cost. The designed prototype is suitable for domestic PV applications, particularly at remote sites. It can also help users check online whether any abnormality has happened in their system based simply on the variation in the produced maximum power. Experimental results show that the system performs well. Moreover, the prototype is easy to implement, low in cost, saves time, and minimizes human effort. The developed monitoring system could be extended by integrating fault detection and diagnosis algorithms.

스테레오 카메라 기반의 적응적인 공간좌표 검출 기법을 이용한 자율 이동로봇 시스템 (Autonomous Mobile Robot System Using Adaptive Spatial Coordinates Detection Scheme based on Stereo Camera)

  • 본 논문에서는 지능적인 경로 계획을 위한 스테레오 카메라 기반의 공간좌표 검출 기법을 이용한 자율 이동 로봇 시스템을 제안하였다. 우선 스테레오 카메라로부터 입력된 영상 중 좌 영상에 YCbCr 컬러 모델 및 무게 중심법을 이용하여 이동중인 보행자의 얼굴 영역과 중심좌표를 검출하고, 검출된 좌표 값에 따라 스테레오 카메라의 능동적인 로봇 제어를 통해 이동하는 보행자를 실시간적으로 검출하게 된다. 다음으로, 로봇구동에 의해 추적 제어된 스테레오 카메라의 좌, 우 영상간의 시차정보와 스테레오 카메라 내부 변환관계를 통해 깊이 정보를 검출한 후, 검출된 깊이 지도로부터 각 열에 존재하는 최소값을 이용한 2차원 공간좌표를 검출하여 이동 로봇과 보행자간의 거리와 위치좌표는 물론 다른 물체들과의 상대 거리를 산출하게 되며, 산출된 위치 좌표를 토대로 이동 로봇의 지능적인 경로 추정 및 판단에 따라 자율적인 주행을 수행하게 된다. 실시간적으로 입력되는 240 프레임의 스테레오 영상을 사용한 실험결과, 이동 로봇과 전방에 존재하는 장애물간의 거리 및 보행자와 장애물간 상대거리의 계산치와 측정치간의 오차가 평균 $2.19\%$$1.52\%$이하로 각각 유지됨으로써 경로 계획을 위한 공간좌표 검출에 기반을 둔 실질적인 이동 로봇 시스템의 구현 가능성을 제시하였다.

Patient-Specific Quality Assurance in a Multileaf Collimator-Based CyberKnife System Using the Planar Ion Chamber Array

  • This paper describes the clinical use of the dose verification of multileaf collimator (MLC)-based CyberKnife plans by combining the Octavius 1000SRS detector and water-equivalent RW3 slab phantom. The slab phantom consists of 14 plates, each with a thickness of 10 mm. One plate was modified to support tracking by inserting 14 custom-made fiducials on surface holes positioned at the outer region of $10{\times}10cm^2$. The fiducial-inserted plate was placed on the 1000SRS detector and three plates were additionally stacked up to build the reference depth. Below the detector, 10 plates were placed to avoid longer delivery times caused by proximity detection program alerts. The cross-calibration factor prior to phantom delivery was obtained by performing with 200 monitor units (MU) on the field size of $95{\times}92.5mm^2$. After irradiation, the measured dose distribution of the coronal plane was compared with the dose distribution calculated by the MultiPlan treatment planning system. The results were assessed by comparing the absolute dose at the center point of 1000SRS and the 3-D Gamma (${\gamma}$) index using 220 patient-specific quality assurance (QA). The discrepancy between measured and calculated doses at the center point of 1000SRS detector ranged from -3.9% to 8.2%. In the dosimetric comparison using 3-D ${\gamma}$-function (3%/3 mm criteria), the mean passing rates with ${\gamma}$-parameter ${\leq}1$ were $97.4%{\pm}2.4%$. The combination of the 1000SRS detector and RW3 slab phantom can be utilized for dosimetry validation of patient-specific QA in the CyberKnife MLC system, which made it possible to measure absolute dose distributions regardless of tracking mode.

단신 : 페달링 시 정량적인 동적 피팅을 위한 실시간 평가 시스템 (Technical-note : Real-time Evaluation System for Quantitative Dynamic Fitting during Pedaling)

  • In this study, a real-time evaluation system for quantitative dynamic fitting during pedaling was developed. The system is consisted of LED markers, a digital camera connected to a computer and a marker detecting program. LED markers are attached to hip, knee, ankle joint and fifth metatarsal in the sagittal plane. Playstation3 eye which is selected as a main digital camera in this paper has many merits for using motion capture, such as high FPS (Frame per second) about 180FPS, $320{\times}240$ resolution, and low-cost with easy to use. The maker detecting program was made by using Labview2010 with Vision builder. The program was made up of three parts, image acquisition & processing, marker detection & joint angle calculation, and output section. The digital camera's image was acquired in 95FPS, and the program was set-up to measure the lower-joint angle in real-time, providing the user as a graph, and allowing to save it as a test file. The system was verified by pedalling at three saddle heights (knee angle: 25, 35, $45^{\circ}$) and three cadences (30, 60, 90 rpm) at each saddle heights by using Holmes method, a method of measuring lower limbs angle, to determine the saddle height. The result has shown low average error and strong correlation of the system, respectively, $1.18{\pm}0.44^{\circ}$, $0.99{\pm}0.01^{\circ}$. There was little error due to the changes in the saddle height but absolute error occurred by cadence. Considering the average error is approximately $1^{\circ}$, it is a suitable system for quantitative dynamic fitting evaluation. It is necessary to decrease error by using two digital camera with frontal and sagittal plane in future study.
