Experiments on Thermal Response of Space Conditioned by a Pl-Controlled VAV System (Pl제어 VAV시스템에 대한 공조공간의 열 응답특성 실험)

  • The present study concerns an experiment on the supply-air control in variable air volume (VAV) system with a Pl control logic. A thermal chamber with a Pl control logic is constructed to verify the previously suggested multi-zone model. The stratified thermal model is adopted in the control logic for a thermal chamber cooling test. The effects of taler- mal parameters and control parameters such as supply air temperature and Pl control factor are investigated by implementing the thermal chamber cooling test. The experimental results obtained show that the transient behavior of the air-conditioned space temperature are in good agreement with the simulation results of the stratified thermal model.

Concurrency Control Protocol for Main Memory Database Systems (주기억 데이터베이스 시스템을 위한 병행수행 제어 프로토콜)

  • Most of the main memory database systems use two-phase locking(2PL)for concurrency control. The 2PL method is preferred over other methods for concurrency control because of its simplicity and common usage. However, conventional concurrency control solution will function poorly when the data are memory resident. In this paper, we propose a new optimistic concurrency control protocol for a main memory database system. In our proposed protocol, transaction conflict information is used in validation phase to improve data conflict resolution decisions. Our experiments show that the proposed protocol performs better than 2PL in terms of throughput for main memory database system enshrinements.

  • In this paper, we have designed and implemented lamp control system in underground parking place using WWW. The proposed system consists of lamp control system which is connected by RS-485 communication bus and monitoring system (WebPL) which can provide web interface using the web server. The lamp control system is controlled through a user command within the monitoring system (WebPL), senses moving object and turns lamps in underground parking place on or off. The monitoring system displays the status values of on or off received from lamp control system on the web browser and can real-timely control lamps in underground parking place on the web browser.

  • In this paper, reliable switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system and 4-rule based fuzzy logic modifier(FLM) of the conventional PI controller are presented. The i80C196KC, low-cost one-chip microcontroller is used for designing SRM drive controller which include the speed controller and the starting sequence. The fuzzy logic modifier which exhibits a stabilizing effects on the closed-loop system, has good robustness regarding the improperly tuned PI controller. The simulation and experimental results are performed to verify the capability of proposed control method on 6/4 salient type SRM.

  • 양자점 Laser Diode(LD)는 낮은 문턱전류, 높은 미분 이득을 갖으며 또한 온도변화에도 안정적이기 때문에 광통신분야에서 광원으로 양자점 LD를 사용하기 위한 연구가 계속되고 있다. 양자점은 fill factor가 낮기 때문에 양자점의 밀도를 높이거나 양자점을 적층 성장하여 fill factor를 높인다. 그러나 양자점을 적층 성장하면 각 층간의 응력, 수직적 결합, 전기적인 결합이 생기며 이는 양자점의 전기적, 광학적 특성에 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD)을 이용하여 InP기판 위에 자발성장 법으로 InAs 양자점을 다주기 성장하였으며 photoluminescence (PL)을 이용하여 광학적 특성을 분석하였다. precursor는 trimethylindium (TMI), trimethylgalium (TMGa), $PH_3$, $AsH_3$를 사용하였으며 carrier gas는 $H_2$를 사용하였다. InAs 양자점은 1100 nm의 파장을 갖는 InGaAsP barrier 위에 성장하였고, InAs와 InGaAsP의 성장온도는 $520^{\circ}C$이며 InAs 양자점 성장시 V/III 비는 3.66으로 일정하게 유지하였다. 그림 1은 양자점 성장시간을 0.11분으로 고정하여 3주기(A), 5주기(B), 8주기(C) 성장한 구조이며 그림 2는 양자점 성장시간을 3주기마다 0.01분씩 줄여가며 3주기는 0.11분${\times}$3(D), 6주기는 0.11분${\times}$3+0.10분${\times}$3(E), 9주기는 0.11분${\times}$3+0.10분${\times}$3+0.09분${\times}$3(F) 으로 성장한 성장구조이다. 각 성장한 시료는 PL을 이용하여 파장과 반치폭을 측정하였다. 그림 3은 양자점 성장시간을 고정한 시료 A, B, C의 PL파장과 PL반치폭 데이터이다. PL파장은 A, B, C 시료 각각 1504 nm, 1571 nm, 1702 nm이며 반치폭은 각각 140 meV, 140 meV, 150 meV이다. PL파장과 반치폭은 각각 3주기에서 6주기로 증가할 때 67 nm, 0 meV 6주기에서 9주기로 증가할 때는 131 nm, 10 meV 증가하였다. 다음 그림4는 양자점 성장시간을 조절하여 성장한 양자점 시료 D, E, F의 PL파장과 PL반치폭 데이터이다. PL파장은 D, E, F 시료 각각 1509 nm, 1556 nm, 1535 nm이며 반치폭은 각각 137 meV, 138 meV, 144 meV이다. PL파장과 반치폭은 각각 3주기에서 6주기로 증가할 때 47 nm, 1 meV 증가하였고, 6주기에서 9주기로 증가할 때는 21 nm 감소, 6 meV 증가하였다. 양자점 성장시간을 고정하여 다주기를 성장하였고 또 3주기마다 양자점 성장시간을 달리하여 다주기를 성장하였으며 PL을 이용해 광학적 특성을 연구하였다. 성장된 양자점의 PL 파장과 PL 반치폭 변화를 통해 적층구조에서 성장 주기가 늘어날수록 양자점의 크기가 증가하는 것을 확인하였고 또한 적층성장을 할 때 양자점 성장시간을 줄임으로써 양자점의 크기 변화를 제어 할 수 있었다.

Design and Implementation of Real-Time Static Locking Protocol for Main-memory Database Systems (주기억장치 데이타베이스 시스템을 위한 실시간 정적 로킹 기법의 설계 및 구현)

  • Main-memory database systems which reside entire databases in main memory are suitable for high-performance real-time transaction processing. If two-phase locking(2PL) as concurrency control protocol is used for the transactions accessing main-memory databases, however, the possibility of lock conflict will be low but lock operations become relatively big overhead in total transaction processing time. In this paper, We designed a real-time static locking(RT-SL) protocol which minimizes lock operation overhead and reflects the priority of transactions and we implemented it on a main-memory real-time database system, Mr.RT. We also evaluate and compare its performance with the existing real-time locking protocols based on 2PL such as 2PL-PI and 2PL-HP. The extensive experiments reveal that our RT-SL outperforms the existing ones in most cases.

  • Pseudolite (PL) is a kind of signal generator, which transmits GPS-like signal at the ground. However our own made PL is different from a GPS satellite in clock accuracy. GPS satellites are synchronized by use of high precision atomic clocks. But because our PLs use low cost temperature controlled oscillators (TCXO), so it is very difficult to synchronize them. Hence, we should install reference station and use Differential GPS (DGPS) algorithm to calculate user position. By use of this method, we already developed indoor navigation system a few years ago.   • Even though there are 256 possible 1-qudit(1-variable quantum digit) functions in quaternary logic, the most useful functions are 4!=24 ones capable of representing in QGFSOP expressions by possible permuting of 0,1,2, and 3. In this paper, we propose a permutational literal(PL) representation and a QPL(Quaternary PL) gate which use the operands of a multiplicand A and an augend D in $Ax^C$+D(GF4) operation as a control variable of multi-cascaded PLs. And we also present new PL synthesis algorithms to synthesize QGFSOP expressed 24 (1-qudit) functions by applying three PL operators as ab(mutual permutation), + D(addition), and XA (multiplication). Finally architectures, circuits, and a CMOS implementation to realize proposed PL synthesis algorithms for $Ax^C$+D(GF4) functions are presented.

Neural Network Method for Tuning PID Gains (신경회로망을 이용한 PID 제어기의 이득조정)

  • This paper presents a neural network method for tuning PlD controller of a time-varying process. Three gains of PlD controller are tuned for a certain desirable response pattern by back-propagation neural network. The neural network is trained using changes of output features vs. changes of PlD gains. But sometimes it needs longer training time and larger structure to train the correlation between the process and controller on entire region of the process. The difficulty in system identification is that the inverse function of the system can not be clearly stated. To cope with the problem, we do not train the neural network to respond correctly for the entire regions but train for only local region where the system is heading toward by training the neural network and tuning of the PlD controller. It may be trained for fine-tuning itself. Simulation results show that the adaptive PID controller using neural network trained in the local area performs remarkably for time-varying second order process.

Changes of photoluminescence in silicon-oxide films (실리콘산화막의 광루미니센스 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Photoluminescence (PL) results of $Si^+$-implanted $SiO_2$films on crystalline silicon are reported. Visible and infrared PL are observed for all the samples. The PL spectrums have about 7000 $\AA$, 7400 $\AA$ and 8400 $\AA$ peak positions. As amount of $Si^+$ ion dose changed, the PL peak positions and intensity are changed. In particular, the PL spectrum has three peaks and more intensity than the other $Si^+$ ion implantation samples for $1{\times}10^{17}/cm^2$ $Si^+$ ion implantation. Not nanocrystal but defects that $Si^+$ ions treated are contributed to the PL spectrum. For the changes of $Si^+$ ion dose and annealing time, O rich radiative defects, Si rich radiative defects, and nonradiative defects control the PL spectrum. We confirmed that more radiative defects can be created by control of $Si^+$ ion dose.
