In this study, computational analyses are carried out to investigate the interference flows and the aerodynamic characteristics of a hit-to-kill intercepter due to lateral jets at medium altitude. In addition, the analyses are performed for air and multi-species gas used in the side jet. The results indicate that the position of the barrel shock are shifted upstream and the structure of the shock wave are changed for the multi-species jet when compared to the air jet. As a result, the high pressure region with multi-species jet moves forward and the pitching moment is higher under the same flow condition. Moreover, the inclusion of high temperature effects makes drastic changes in pressure distribution. The jet width is much bigger, and the jet diffuses over wider range in medium altitude than in low altitude, because of the low density of the freestream.

Previously sailing yachts or leisure yachts were mainly made from FRP(Fiber glass reinforced plastic) in the small shipbuilding, but recently there is a trend to replace it for steel or aluminum to substitute FRP for environmental friendly materials. Although It have to need a many checked item in case of hull girder strength and transverse strength normally evaluate base on calculation of class guideline so called direct calculation method. Otherwise. this method of initial structural design considered enough for safety margin on the structure. But, case of small craft must consider for evaluating local strength through rational method. In this paper, check the bow structure members for satisfying results base on allowable stress criterion of damaged bow structure by dynamic load due to slamming and bottom impact load due to pitching motion through finite element analysis. and investigate engine bed structure considering engine weight load and transverse wave load.
In this paper, research for dynamic wheel loads of 3-D vehicle model considering tire enveloping model is carried out. Heavy trucks with 2-axles and 3-axles are modeled by 7-d.o.f. and 8-d.o.f., in which contact length of tire and pitching of tandem spring axles is considered. Dynamic equations of vehicle are derived by using the Lagrange's equation and solution of the equation is calculated by 5th Runge-Kutter method. The validity of the developed 3-D vehicle model is demonstrated by comparing the results obtained by the present method and experimental data by Whittemore. The maximum impact factors of tire force are calculated when vehicle models of 8ton and 15ton dump truck are running on the different class roads with 1.0km and on the various step bump.

This paper investigates the longitudinal flight dynamics and stability of flapping-wing micro air vehicles. Periodic external forces and moments due to the flapping motion characterize the dynamics of this system as NLTP (Non Linear Time Periodic). However, the averaging theorem can be applied to an NLTP system to obtain an NLTI (Non Linear Time Invariant) system which allows us to use a standard eigen value analysis to assess the stability of the system with linearization around a reference point. In this paper, we investigate the dynamics and stability of a hawkmoth-scale flapping-wing air vehicle by establishing an LTI (Linear Time Invariant) system model around a hovering condition. Also, a direct time integration of full nonlinear equations of motion of the flapping-wing micro air vehicle is conducted to see how the longitudinal flight dynamics appear in the time domain beyond the reference point, i.e. hovering condition. In the study, the flapping-wing air vehicle exhibited three distinct dynamic modes of motion in the longitudinal plane of motion: two stable subsidence modes and one unstable oscillatory mode. The unstable oscillatory mode is found to be a combination of a pitching velocity state and a forward/backward velocity state.

This paper presents dynamic modelling and simulation study on attitude/altitude control of an insect-mimicking flapping micro aerial vehicle during hovering. Mathematical modelling consists of three parts: simplified flapping kinematics, flapping-wing aerodynamics, and six degree of freedom dynamics. Attitude stabilization is accomplished through linear quadratic regulator based on the linearized model of the time-varying nonlinear system, and altitude control is designed in the outer loop using PID control. The performance of the proposed controller is verified through numerical simulation where attitude stabilization and altitude control is done for hovering. In addition, it is confirmed that the attitude channel by periodic control is marginally stable against periodic pitching moment caused by flapping.

This study aims to track pedestrian behavior in urban linear tourist sites and to analyse their behavioral characteristics. For these purposes, this study has adopted the direct observation, a behavioral tracking methodology, and selected Chenggyecheon in Seoul as the study site, a representative site of urban regeneration. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows: the period of stay and movement distance of pedestrians in the study area are both short and most pedestrian activities, apart from walking, are of a passive nature, such as pitching pennies, reading signs, resting and the like. Spatial points of Chenggyecheon at which pedestrians have exhibited these behaviors during their stay are summarized as 30 points and classified into 3 types: landmarks, bridges and nodes. Further research that combines several tracking methods in terms of urban pedestrian behavior is needed.
Turbulent flow analysis is conducted around the multi-stage launch vehicle including base region and detachment motion of strap-on boosters due to resultant aerodynamic forces and gravity is simulated. Aerodynamic solution procedure is coupled with rigid body dynamics for the prediction of separation behavior. An overset mesh technique is adopted to achieve maximum efficiency in simulating relative motion of bodies and various turbulence models are implemented on the flow solver to predict the aerodynamic forces accurately. At first, some preliminary studies are conducted to show the importance of base flow for the exact prediction of detachment motion and to find the most suitable turbulence model for the simulation of launch vehicle configurations. And then, developed solver is applied to the simulation of KSR-III, a three-stage sounding rocket researched in Korea. From the analyses, after-body flow field strongly affects the separation motions of strap-on boosters. Negative pitching moment at initial stage is gradually recovered and a strap-on finally results in a safe separation, while fore-body analysis shows collision phenomena between core rocket and booster. And a slight variation of motion is observed from the comparison between inviscid and turbulent analyses. Change of separation trajectory based on viscous effects is just a few percent and therefore, inviscid analysis is sufficient for the simulation of separation motion if the study is focused only on the movement of strap-ons.
The motions used in throwing place tremendous stresses on the soft tissues about the player's shoulder. In order to throw successfully, the shoulder complex must be capable of excessive motion, while maintaining stability of the glenohumeral joint. Injuries to the throwing player can result from acute trauma, but more commonly can be a result of overuse injuries from the repetitive throwing activity. Inbalance in the muscles and soft tissue about the shoulder can result in an injury secondary to abnormal biomechanics of the glenohumeral complex. The preventive measure a throwing player can take in order to maintain a healthy throwing shoulder is to participate in a regular shoulder strengthening program. It is when the muscles about the shoulder become imbalanced, secondary to either injury or relative weakness, that instability and injury can occur. By understanding the pitching motion and the relative contribution of the muscles, the treating physician has a framework on which to build knowledge regarding physical findings and diagnosis of shoulder injuries in throwing players. Once a diagnosis is made. a successful treatment plan may be developed for the player, including both conservative and , at time surgical means.

A new approach to systematically model aerodynamic coefficients using an adaptive sampling based wind tunnel testing considering cost is proposed. The Latin Hypercube design is used for selecting initial test points. The Gaussian Process (GP) is iteratively used during the experiment to determine additional experimental points that minimizes the uncertainty reduction per incremental cost. A numerical simulation based experiment was conducted using the static aerodynamic coefficient database a fighter aircraft, which demonstrated the validity of the proposed method.

A measurement system using stereo pattern recognition (SPR) method was configured to measure the rotor blade deformations and motions. An SPR-based measurement system was prepared using six stereo cameras. Through a series of experiments to evaluate the system measurement uncertainty, it was verified that the SPR system had less than 0.2mm standard uncertainty. The combined standard uncertainties for the lead-lag, flapping, and pitching motions were estimated as 0.296mm, 0.209mm, and $0.238^{\circ}$, respectively. The SPR system was installed at a general small-scaled rotor test system at Korea Aerospace Research Institute. The blade motions and elastic deformation were successfully measured under the conditions with rotating speeds of 360rpm or 589rpm, and collective pitch angles of $0^{\circ}$, $4^{\circ}$, or $6^{\circ}$. The advantages of the SPR system was analyzed in comparison with the measurement system used in Higher Harmonic Control Aeroacoustic Rotor Test -II.
