  • The electromagnetic theory is applicated on the field of electromagnetic continuous casting(EMC). This paper treats the stream phenomena of high frequency current on the solid-loop coil of which consists the hollow conductor. The governing equation is derived from elctromagnetic field theory and the characteristics are analyzed by FEM. The results may be availabe data on designing the optimum shape of the coil for the improved pinch effect.

  • p-수렴 유한요소법은 보간함수의 차수 p를 증가시키는 동안 해석하려는 영역의 분할을 고정시키는 유한요소해석의 새로운 접근방법이다. 이 논문에서는 혼합사상함수에 기초한 새로운 p-수렴 계층요소를 이용한 쉘 모델의 컴퓨터 수행에 초점을 두었다. Pinch Test문제와 원통형 쉘지붕문제를 통해 제안된 쉘 모델의 강체운동, round-off 오차, 그리고 수렴성등이 검토되었다.

Mechanical Integrity Evaluation on the Degraded Cladding Tube of Spent Nuclear Fuel Under Axial and Bending Loads During Transportation

  • This paper aims to evaluate the mechanical integrity for Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) cladding under lateral loads during transportation. The evaluation process requires a conservative consideration of the degradation conditions of SNF cladding, especially the hydride effect, which reduces the ductility of the cladding. The dynamic forces occurring during the drop event are pinch force, axial force and bending moment. Among those forces, axial force and bending moment can induce transverse tearing of cladding. Our assessment of 14 × 14 PWR SNF was performed using finite element analysis considering SNF characteristics. We also considered the probabilistic procedures with a Monte Carlo method and a reliability evaluation. The evaluation results revealed that there was no probability of damage under normal conditions, and that under accident conditions the probability was small for transverse failure mode.

  • 최근 지속 가능한 산업 개발을 위한 생태산업단지(eco-industrial park, EIP)의 개발이 각 국가별로 활성화 되고 있다. 생태산업단지(eco-industrial park)는 사업의 특성상 기업 및 정부, 그리고 자치단체가 모두 참여하는 성격을 지니지만 이를 구체적으로 실현하는 데는 공학적인 모델링 과정이 필요하다. 생태산업단지를 위한 주요 기술로는 에너지 교환, 물질흐름분석, 용수 이용 최적화, 전과정 평가를 통한 환경영향평가 등이 있다. 생태산업단지를 공학적으로 설계하는데 있어서 해당 기업들의 물질흐름이 어떻게 진행되고 이것을 어떻게 최적화 하여 모델링 할 것인지가 주요 목적이므로 물질흐름분석(material flow analysis, MFA) 방법론은 생태산업단지 설계에 유용하게 적용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 물질흐름분석 방법론 기술과 포항 생태산업 시범단지의 사례연구를 바탕으로 물질흐름 분석방법을 생태산업단지 모델링에 적용하는 방법, 그리고 MFA 모델링을 위한 소프트웨어의 활용을 제시한다.

유연한 인간형 로봇 손의 설계 (Design of a Dexterous Anthropomorphic Robot Hand)

  • According to the study of grasping of the human hand, it is noted that the metacarpal link of the thumb plays the key role in power grasping. Also the face of fingertip can be discriminated into five parts depending on the grasping modalities such as pinch grasp, fingertip grasp and power grasp. In this paper, the design of the anthropomorphic robot hand which has a thumb and three fingers is proposed. A difference of SKKU hand II from the previous gripperlike robot hand is that the metacarpal bone is connected between the thumb and the palm. This thumb mechanism is specially designed to get the degree of freedom which can realize flexible motions relative to objects. Based on the analysis, the hand mechanism is developed. Since the driving circuits for the hand are embedded in the hand, only the communication lines supporting CAN protocol with DC power cable are necessary as the input. A new robot is manufactured and feasibility of the hand is validated through preliminary experiments.

SAGD 법을 이용한 오일샌드 플랜트 열교환기망 최적화를 위한 사례연구 (Case Studies for Optimizing Heat Exchanger Networks in Steam-assisted Gravity Drainage Oil Sands Plant)

  • Oil sands are a mixture of sand, clay, and a high-viscosity petroleum called bitumen. Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) is the most viable and environmentally safe recovery technology for extracting bitumen. It extracts the viscosity-lowered bitumen by high pressure, high temperature steam injected into the bitumen reservoir. The steam is produced at the Central Processing Facility (CPF). Typically, more than 90% of the energy consumed in producing bitumen are used to generate the steam. Fuels are employed in the process, which cause economic and environmental problems. This paper explores the retrofit of heat exchanger network to reduce the usage of hot and cold utilities. The hot and cold utilities are reduced respectively 6% and 37.3% which in turn resulted in 5.3% saving of total annual cost by improving the existing heat exchanger network of the CPF.

열원온도와 작동유체에 따른 초월임계 유기랭킨사이클의 열역학적 성능 특성 (Thermodynamic Performance Characteristics of Transcritical Organic Rankine Cycle Depending on Source Temperature and Working Fluid)

  • 본 연구에서는 아홉 종류의 작동유체를 고려하여 저온 열원으로 구동되는 아임계 및 초월임계 유기 랭킨 사이클의 열역학적 성능 특성을 비교 해석한다. 터빈입구압력, 열원온도 및 작동유체가 열교환기 내 온도분포와 핀치포인트, 작동유체의 유량, 시스템 출력 및 열효율 등 시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 해석 결과는 작동유체의 압력이 아임계 영역에서 초임계 영역으로 높아지면 열교환기에서 열원과 작동유체 사이의 온도 불균일 정도가 감소하면서 시스템 출력이나 열효율 등은 증가하나 시스템의 단위출력당 터빈 크기는 작아짐을 보여준다.

The development of a fully automated homemade system for [11C] acetate synthesis using an open source PLC

  • Solid phase extraction (SPE) purification method is the efficient and well-known tool for automated [$^{11}C$]acetate synthesis. A fully automated homemade module adopting the SPE method and 'pinch' valves was developed very economically with a universal interface board, a relay card and an open source programmable logic controller. The radiochemical yield of the optimized [$^{11}C$]acetate synthesis by this system was $58.8{\pm}2.1%$ (n=10, decay-corrected) from $15.5{\pm}0.19GBq$ of $[^{11}C]CO_2$ as starting activity, and total synthetic time was 15 minutes. HPLC analysis showed its high radiochemical purity as $97.4{\pm}1.1%$ without possible by-products.

수소 네트워크 구성 시 기존 파이프 라인 활용의 경제적 효과 (Economic Efficiency of Using Existing Pipe Line in Hydrogen Network)

  • 석유화학산업단지의 수소 네트워크 최적화는 석유화학산업 단지 내 각 업체 간 잉여 수소와 필요 수소의 양과 순도를 조사하여 최적의 분배를 구해는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 네트워크를 구성할 때 기존의 파이프라인을 고려한다면 비용을 줄일 수 있는 효과를 정량적으로 명확하게 알아보기 위해 가상의 수소 네트워크를 구성하여 기존의 파이프라인을 활용하는 것과 활용하지 않는 두 가지의 case를 모델링하고 수리계획법을 사용하여 계산, 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 기존의 파이프라인을 활용한다면 가정된 조건 하 에서 파이프비용을 20%이상 줄이고 전체네트워크 이익을 약 14억 원 증가시키는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

비정형작업 근골격계질환 위험요인의 노출평가: 일부 병원근로자에 대한 PATH-KOSHA 관찰도구 적용사례 (Exposure assessment of musculoskeletal disorder risk factors in non routinized work: An application of PATH-KOSHA observational tool to hospital workers)

  • This study was conducted to assess exposure to musculoskeletal disorder(MSD) risk factors in hospital personnel who performed non-routinized work tasks. A tool ("PATH-KOSHA" version) was newly revised from PATH(Posture, Activity, Tools and Handling) method and uploaded into a personal digital assistant(PDA). The version was used, on a basis of direct-observation, to collect PATH data at the 2 hospital settings in different regions. Job analysis was performed to get various information (e.g., work and rest time, task type) as well. The data collected were visually checked for data cleaning and stored for future data analysis. A total of 1,992 PATH observations were made for 37 hospital workers. Exposure levels varied across 18 items of the MSD risk factors. The highest percent time spent on non-neutral postures was 53% for wrist deviation, followed by 47%(pinch grip), 35%(trunk posture), 23%(neck posture), and 20%(shoulder/arm posture). The highest percent time spent among hand activity level(HAL) variables was 55% for HAL-cat2 (HAL: 3.3 - <6.7). The percent time of items with respect to both loads with more than 5kg and contact stress was less than 4%. Vibration was not exposed in the study workers. Different aspects were discussed for findings. The study results showed that wrist deviation was highest in percent time spent on awkward posture while HAL-cat2 was highest in hand repetition. The study suggests that distal upper extremity posture and HAL should be primarily addressed and controlled in non-routinized work including the hospital settings.
