  • Recently, a number of studies have drawn attention to purchasing online game items. Most of the studies are based on the assumption that consumers behave rationally. Accordingly, TRA- or value-based approaches have been mainly employed to understand the online purchases of game items. However, the purchasing behavior of consumers involves not only making rational decisions, but also making irrational decisions. Hence, their purchase behavior is affected by propensities for conspicuous consumption, impulsive consumption, and habitual consumption. Playing games can be highly addictive, and players often display such addictive behaviors. Our study explored both the rational and irrational factors in purchase behavior to understand how they are associated with purchasing game items. A total of 366 pieces of data were collected from Korean online game users through a survey. Regression analyses of the collected data showed that the behavior of buying game items was influenced not only by the intention to purchase which is a rational factor in consumption, but also by such irrational factors as habit, impulse, and ostentation which should be further emphasized in future studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of modern consumer society and to analyze how the meaning of postmodern-feminism is consumed into what image of preference in fashion. The function of modern society has changed into the system which is centered around consumption from the one that emphasizes labor and production of mass consumption age by mass production. In this consumer society, consumption means just not to waste of production but to consume the commodity sign reflected on the desire of a moderner. In other words, it means what is consumed will be the meaning, preference, symbol, and image mood not goods itself with physical feature. Existing feminism has affected by postmodernism. Due to that, postmodern-feminism has developed, taking to pieces the paternal argument since the late 1960s. It has tried to give up hope this idea, regarding sex distinction as a socially organized category contrary to women's identity of biological aspect suppressed in the paternal system of value. Especially it has demanded only one type on sex should be translated into a distinctive quality, multiple meaning, and sex. Accordingly in modern fashion, this aspect is expressed like the followings : distinction into women's image evaded fixation, multiple meaning into image of androgyny, multiple sex into that of mixture. And this is used as the image of symbolic goods, also the purpose of brand difference.

  • The authors have developed two devices which cuts the spend fuel rod to an optimal size and extracts fuel pellet from the pieces of cut fuel rods. These devices are so important to reduce radioactive wastes that some advanced countries developed their own methods and devices. The authors have benchmarked from these methods and devices. For spent fuel rod cutting, the tube cutting method has been chosen. some mechanical properties of the fuel tube and pellet has been carefully considered for an optimal cutting size. For fuel pellet extraction, a mechanically extracting method has been adopted. The existing chemical method have turned out to be inappropriate because it produced large amount of radioactive wastes, in spite of its high fuel recovery characteristics. The developed method has an advantage that it can be applied to other fuel rods that have different shapes and sizes. The two devices are set up and operated in the hot cell where people can not go in, so that the devices have been designed to be controlled remotely and modulated for easy maintenance. And the performance of the devices has been tested by using simulated fuel rod. From the experimental results, the devices are supposed to be useful for reducing radioactive wastes.

  • The Korean game of yut is a traditional games that everyone can enjoy regardless of gender or ages. Yut consists of four sticks with a Head and Tail. We are interested in the course probabilities in the game of yut that are different according to the starting order of the four pieces of yut. So we consider the probabilities of five results of yut which we toss according to the probability of Head. We calculate probabilities according to 4 courses where one piece of yut can go through in a yutpan according to the starting order of each piece of yut.

  • Purpose: Pulmonary cement embolization after vertebroplasty is a well-known complication. The reported incidence of pulmonary cement emboli after vertebroplasty ranges frome 2.1% to 26% with much of this variation resulting from which radiographic technique is used to detect embolization. Onset and severity of symptoms are variable. Case description: We present the case of a 83-year-old women who underwent fourth lumbar vertebroplasty and subsequently had dyspnea several days later. Posteroanterior chest radiography showed multiple linear densities. Computed tomography of thorax revealed also multiple bilateral, linear hyperdensities within the lobar pulmonary artery branches are detected in axial and coronal views. Literature Reviews: Operative management of vertebral compression fractures has included percutaneous vetebroplasty for the past 25 years. Symptoms of pulmonary cement embolism can occur during procedure, but more commonly begin days to weeks, even months, after vertebroplsty. Most cases of pulmonary cement emboli with cardiovascular and pulmonary complications are treated nonoperatively with anticoagulation. Endovascular removal of large cement emboli from the pulmonary arteries is not without risk and sometimes requires open surgery for complete removal of cement pieces. Conclusion: Pulmonary cement embolism is a potentially serious complication of vertebroplasty. If a patient has chest pain or respiratory difficulty after the procedure, chest radiography and possibly advanced chest imaging studies should be performed immediately.

  • The structure of spiral thickenings, particulary the appearance, arrangement and orientation of thickenings in compression wood of Torreya nucifera, were studied in detail by light and polarizing microscope, scanning and transmission electron microscope. The results obtained are as follows: (1) Using the inclined sections at an angle of 45 degrees to the fiber axis, it seems that we can not only observe the more accurate transverse view of the thickenings but also investigate the formation of their thickenings. (2) Generally 2-4 pieces of thickenings are projected to the cell lumen as nipple-like appearance in transverse section and are as frequent, well developed, forming pair and have the rope-like appearance in radial surface. (3) The secondary wall of early wood is composed of 3 layers (S1, S2, S3) and orientation of thickening appears S helix but that of late wood is of 2 layers (S1, S2) and that orientation shows Z helix. Above two regions are demaracted at several tracheid cells from the growth ring boundary. (4) Orientation of thickening seems to be a element showing the characteristics of compression wood in Torreya nucifera. (5) It believes that the thickenings of compression wood are integral part of the S3 in early wood tracheids and of the S2 in late wood and have the same orientations as the inner-most microfibrils in these layers. (6) Thickening and cavities seem to be not formed together in a secondary cell wall of same tracheids.

  • Deposits discharged through the cleaning mainly were cement mortar, bitumen paintings and rust pieces, and fragments of perforation, stones and gravels. Deposits were more removed through swabbing pig cleaning rather than air scouring cleaning on the whole. However, air scouring cleaning were not influenced by the constraint conditions such as a change in the diameter or the presence of the valve in water mains compare to swabbing pig cleaning. So, it was thought that air scouring cleaning might be more favorable to water distribution network cleaning in the future. After the cleaning, water quality including residual chlorine and turbidity also was improved because of the removal of a significant amount of the deposits. Therefore, if the cleaning is continuously and regularly implemented in water mains, it is expected that it will help to recover the reliability and to preserve the health of water quality.

  • This research was conducted to investigate the morphological characteristics of fine fibers produced during beating process of high yield pulp treated with ozone and the distribution of lignin in the produced fine fibers. Thermomechanical(TMP) pulp and chemithermomechanical(CTMP) pulp of spruce and CTMP of white birch were beaten to reach 200$m\ell$ CSF, and then the fine fibers were observed using ultraviolet microscope. The fine fibers produced from TMP and CTMP of spruce using treated with ozone for 15 minutes were fragments of fiber surfaces or cell corners, and most of them contained lignin. However, lignin was not observed in the fibers after 15 minutes of ozone treatment. The fine fibers produced from CTMP of white birch were broken pieces or fragments of fiber surfaces or cell corners. The lignin was observed in the fibers until 5min of ozone treatment but no lignin was observed after 5 minutes of ozone treatment. Different morphological characteristics of TMP and CTMP explained both the different morphological characteristics and the distribution of lignin observed in the fine fibers produced from the beating process of TMP and CTMP treated with ozone.

  • The metal vessel which was excavated during the Japanese rule and separated into many pieces was conserved. The relic was stabilized through conservation treatment, and its original shape was restored. After the conservation treatment, it was discovered that the metal vessel has the bottom part and a catch near the mouth and was made in a streamline shape which becomes narrower inward. Radiographic examination test revealed many pores which were produced during the process of casting. It was found through the analysis of the metal structure that the material used was hypereutectic white cast iron with primary graphites.
