The purposes of this study were to investigate the patient satisfaction with physical therapy services and find the related factors to patient satisfaction. In this study, three hospitals were selected at large, middle, small city. Ninety subjects (53 males, 37 females) who had received physical therapy service were participated in this survey. Survey data were collected by a written questionnaire. The patient satisfaction scale had a good reliability (Cronbachs alpha=.9134). The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis. The scores of patient satisfaction with physical therapy services at large, middle, and small city were 79.67, 76.23, and 86.33 respectively. The score of patient satisfaction at small city was significantly higher than middle and large city (p<.01). There was no significant difference in patient satisfaction with physical therapy services according to gender, age, education years, occupation, marital status, religion and average monthly income. Further studies are needed to identify which specific factors are related to patient satisfaction with physical services. This information will be useful in improving the patient satisfaction.
Purpose : The purpose of this study for the physical therapy service was to investigate the satisfaction of the parent whose child has a disability and which factors affect their satisfactions. 153 questionnaires were surveyed from parents who experienced services of physical therapy offered in 3 general hospitals, 6 disabled daycare centers and 2 welfare centers located in Jeonnam area for one month, Sep. 2009. The results of this study were as follows: 1. In the parent's satisfaction of physical therapy program, there was a significant difference in satisfaction according to their place of residence(p<.05). 2. In the child's satisfaction of physical therapy program, there was a significant difference in satisfaction according to their diagnosis time(p<.05). 3. In the general characteristics of the condition of workroom, the satisfaction of physical environment, therapist's attitude, and physical therapy program revealed the significant differences(p<0.05). In the satisfaction according to institution, only physical environment has a significance(p<.05). 4. The satisfactions were $4.17{\pm}0.67$, $3.97{\pm}0.60$ and $3.90{\pm}0.68$ for physical therapist's attitude, physical environment and physical therapy program, respectively. The overall satisfaction revealed $4.01{\pm}0.58$, relatively high.
Objective: This study is about the physical therapy facilities and environmental and service satisfaction of patients visiting in the front military hospitals and divisions. Design: Survey study Methods: Prior to this survey, 28 users of the front division and military hospital were surveyed in advance to verify the survey through reliability analysis. For this survey, 1,300 questionnaires were distributed to seven frontline divisions and three military hospitals, of which 578 military hospitals and 479 divisions were collected. Among them, 1,042 pieces of data were used for the analysis, excluding 15 questionnaires that exceeded the research period of the division. Analysis methods used Cronbach-α and multiple regression for mean comparison analysis, factor analysis for validation, and reliability verification to verify differences between groups. Results: As a result of the satisfaction analysis, the division's stage satisfaction was higher than that of military hospitals, and as a result of analyzing the satisfaction items by sector, accessibility, re-visit doctors, and professionalism accounted for a large portion in the field of physical therapy services. As a result of a regression analysis, the factors that affect the satisfaction of physical therapy had the greatest impact on facility and environmental satisfaction, and expertise in physical therapy services. Conclusions: In the future, it will be necessary to improve the comfort of the physical therapy room and the expertise of physical therapy in order to improve the satisfaction level of physical therapy at military medical facilities.
The purpose of this study was to contribute to the relatively neglected area of out -patient satisfaction with physical therapy service by measuring and determining the factors affecting patient satisfaction in the Andong region. One hundred and forty-five subjects (81 males and 64 females) at 11 facilities with a mean age of 39.2 years (SD=16.2) responded to the satisfaction questionnaire. Each questionnaire contained a set of demographic questions and 19 patient satisfaction items. Cronbach's alpha test of reliability was used as the measure of internal consistency . The satisfaction scale had a good reliability coefficient : Cronbach's alpha=.8688. The average satisfaction score (minimum score=19, maximum score=95) was 75.4 ranging from 38 to 90. Respondent variables including sex, education, marital status, religion, medical security, average monthly income, and number of physical therapy out-patient department treatment visits were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and ANCOVA. Satisfaction with the service was largely unrelated to mallets of sex, education, occupation, or other demographic variables. However, marital status, age, average monthly income, and number of treatment visits in the out-patient department were significantly related to patient satisfaction. The analysis presented here could be replicatied with a larger sample in other areas. Other factors such as physical therapist availability, physical therapist competence, accessibility, waiting time, and atmosphere of the treatment area should be considered in further studies.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of physical therapy service utilization and user satisfaction depending on the experience with therapeutic exercise or ultrasound intervention among elderly persons using senior centers. Methods: The subjects were adults aged over 60 years (total 215) recruited in 40 senior centers located in each province in South Korea. Subjects responded to questions concerning overall demographics factors, utilized characteristics of physical therapy service and 12 variety user satisfactions with effectiveness, facilities, and therapist using a survey instrument. The collected data were analyzed by Fishers' exact tests and t-tests using the SPSS 21.0 program to compare the results of elderly persons who had or had not experienced exercise therapy or ultrasound therapy. Results: The participants that experienced ultrasound therapy or therapeutic exercise reported significantly higher overall results pertaining to effectiveness of physical therapy and a clear explanation from physical therapist's satisfaction than those who were non-experienced. Satisfaction with pain relief was significantly higher among elderly who experienced therapeutic exercise than those who did not. Those who underwent ultrasound therapy showed significantly higher satisfaction with facilities and location than those who did not. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that satisfaction among users differs by type of physical therapy. In the future, physiotherapy services provided in senior centers needs to be designed to improve the effectiveness of physical therapy, professionalism of physical therapists and comfort of facility.
The purpose of this study are ( i ) to examine operating situation of physical therapy department and job satisfaction of physical therapists in health centers, (ii) to analyze utilization patterns and patient satisfaction of physical therapy services among health center visitors, and finally, (iii) to suggest policy implications in facilitating improvement on physical therapy services of health centers. The materials are collected from 105 physical therapists among nationwide health centers and 203 patients of 5 health centers in Pusan, Korea. The survey is conducted from February 13 to March 30, 1996 with a structured self - administered questionnaire. Major results of the study are as follows. First, the result of regression analysis between job satisfaction and affecting factors identify following variables as the significant determinants; self-development(+), job itself(+), and co-worker support (+). Second, the current operating situation of physical therapy department shows such problem as; i )shortage and unstable job security of physical therapists, ii )absence of rehabilitation specialist, iii )lack of understanding on physical therapy of co-workers, iv)shortage of physical therapy equipment and facility, v)burdensome task of physical therapists, and vi) inappropriate purchase process of equipment. Third, patient satisfaction for physical therapy services are revealed relatively high. And the result of regression analysis between patient satisfaction and affecting factors identify following variables as the significant determinants; credibility of physical therapist(+), satisfaction for waiting time(+), cleanliness(+). Fourth, the patients appeal about physical therapy services such problem as; i) shortage of physical therapists, physical therapy equipment, and facility, ii) inconvenient administrative procedure for utilization physical therapy services. Fifth and last, recommendations for the improvement of physical therapy services of health centers are as follows; i )recruiting more physical therapists, ii )regular employment of physical therapists instead of daily use employment, iii )re-arrangement of facility for patient's convenience, iv )establishing reasonable purchasing system of equipment for physical therapy, v) reforming administrative procedure for patient focused care.

PURPOSE: This study examined the actual condition of physical therapy in residential facilities for the disabled and determined the degree of job satisfaction of physical therapists. METHODS: In this study, data were collected using a structured questionnaire targeting 117 physical therapists (male: 49, female: 68) working in residential facilities for the disabled. The questionnaire consisted of 21 items, including six general characteristics, one job satisfaction, and 14 actual situation-related items. RESULTS: The job satisfaction of the physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled was 3.81 ± .83, which was between 'normal' and 'satisfactory'. One physical therapist worked in 91.5% of places. The physical therapy room was used only by the physical therapist, occupational therapist or speech therapist, and a nurse and other departments in 65.8%, 9.4%, and 23.1% of cases. On average, six to 10 patients per day were treated the most with 45.3%, followed by physical therapy alone at 19.7%, and work related to medical rehabilitation and other departments at 72.7%. A higher number of overtime hours and nurses resulted in lower job satisfaction. CONCLUSION: The job satisfaction of physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled was similar to those of physical therapists working in medical institutions, but the factors affecting the job satisfaction were different. Professionalism in physical therapy was not secured, and the relationships with colleagues were an important factor in increasing job satisfaction.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of flipped learning education on academic motivation and class satisfaction in physical therapy students. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Participants included 72 physical therapy students (experimental group=36, control group=36). In order to compare the effects of flipped learning education, flipped learning and lecture-style learning were provided in a class titled Acticities of Daily Living and Practice. An independent t-test was used to compare academic motivation and class satisfaction between two groups. Results: The flipped learning group showed a significantly higher level of academic motivation and class satisfaction compared to the traditional learning group (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results showed that flipped learning education is an effective learning strategy for improving the academic motivation and class satisfaction of physical therapy students.

Purpose : The this study was performed to purpose the data basis of medical law revision for home visiting physical therapy established as a legal system in hone visiting health care by researching the need, satisfaction, intention to use, management, expected effects. Methods : We were surveyed for 105 patients who was participated business from home visiting health care in community health center. We choose and modified the questionnaire that was used in previous study about home visiting physical therapy and home visiting program for nurses. The questionnaire was consisted of 4 questions of general characteristics of subject, 6 questions of satisfaction, 4 questions of satisfaction of service status, 2 questions of management. And frequency analysis, ANOVA were used for statically analysis. Results : In general satisfaction, satisfaction of service status, the result were very optimistic, but there were no difference by age. In management, participations of 64.8% was answered to within three years of clinical experence and trained in home visiting physical therapy ask on qualification criteria of physical therapists, and participations of 93.3% was answered to once a week ask on desired number of therapy. Conclusion : In our conclusion, home visiting physical therapy is very useful and effective health care system for satisfaction and need, so home visiting physical therapy expected to have great potential in home visiting health care. In addition, by train to home visiting physical therapist for provide professional physical therapy service provide an institutional base which can be expanded and invigorated home visiting physical therapy.

Background: The purpose of this study show the degree of physical therapy service and physical therapist according to medical institution by measuring and determining the factor affecting patient satisfaction in the Gimcheon city. Methods: For this study 100 questionnaires were distributed to medical institution, Gimcheon city from Jul 20 to Aug 5, 2008. The consisted of total 28 items. The contents item divided the general characteristics into nine heads, the satisfaction of physical therapy service into nine heads, and the physical therapy into ten heads. Survey data were collected by a written questionnaire. The collected date were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA. Results: There was difference with statistic value in physical therapy according to medical security and handicapped or non-handicapped(p<.05). There was difference with statistic value in physical therapy service and physical therapist according to medical institution. The score of patient satisfaction at welfare facilities was significantly lesser than other medical institution(p<.05). Conclusion: There was difference with statistic value in physical therapy service and physical therapist according to a number of patients of physical therapy a day.
