도시 노인의 성별 및 연령별 기초신체활동 측정 평가 (Assessment of Basic Physical Activity According to Sex and Age Groups in Elderly Groups in an Urban Community)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the elderly physical fitness test for elderly people living in urban areas and to evaluate the physical fitness level according to gender and age groups. Methods: The subjects were 180 elderly people aged 65 and over living in urban areas. The elderly people were classified into early old age, middle old age, and advanced old age groups. Five items of the physical fitness test for the elderly (arm curl, chair stand, 2 min step test, back scratch, and chair sit and reach). Results: In analyzing the average of each item by gender and age, a significant difference was found in the results of each item as age increased in all sports, but no difference was observed according to gender except dumbbell lifting. Conclusion: Although the physical fitness level of all ages decreased from early age to late age, the difference in physical fitness according to gender was not significant except the arm curl test. The results of this study can be used as basic data for a new "age-specific exercise program" for the elderly.

일지역주민의 체력에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 신체증상과 건강행위를 중심으로 - (Relations among Health Behaviors, Health Symptoms and Physical Fitness of People in the Same Community)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify relations among health behaviors, health symptoms and physical fitness of people in the same community. Method: The study was designed as a descriptive survey and the participants were 1,621 healthy people. Data were collected from March to December, 2003 using a structured questionnaire on health behaviors, health symptoms and physical fitness. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, $\chi^2$-test, t-test, two-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression using SPSS/PC. Results: The result of multiple regression showed that sex, age, and BMI were related to physical fitness. In health-related physical fitness, regular exercise was related to cardiorespiratory endurance and flexibility, and daily caffeine intake was related to muscular endurance. In performance-related physical fitness, having breakfast regularly was related to power, daily caffeine intake was related to agility, and regular lifestyle and health symptoms were related to balance. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that for better physical fitness, nursing strategies and intervention programs should include physical fitness-related factors, and education programs should be developed based on the above parameters to promote positive perception of physical fitness.

경찰공무원 체력검정의 문제점 및 발전방안 (Problems and Development of Police Officials' Physical Fitness Tests)

  • 본 연구는 지난 5월 서울에서 온라인 커뮤니티에 '대림동 여경 폭행'이라는 영상에서 주취자 제압에 나선 여경이 피의자와 몸싸움에서 밀리는 등 다소 무기력한 모습의 장면이 나옴에 따라 경찰의 체력검정에 대한 문제점은 무엇인지 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 경찰 체력검정은 직무수행과 연계성이 있어야 함에도 현실에서 적용하기 어려운 항목들로 구성되어 있어 비난의 대상이 되고 있다. 문제점으로 나타나고 있는 것은 체력검정 종목의 비현실성과, 체력검정 기준이 너무나도 낮게 선정되어 있으며, 남녀성별 기준의 불균형과 체력검정 방법의 비전문화로 신뢰성이 떨어진다는 것이다. 이에 대한 개선방안으로 첫째, 치안상황에 맞는 현장 활용 가능한 종목으로 개선되어야 하며, 체력검정 평가기준을 상향 조정하고 업무수행에 필요한 제도적 장치 마련과 경찰의 직업적 특수성에 따른 기준을 충족하지 못하고 있는 여경의 체력검사기준을 강화하고, 부상방지 및 효과적인 체력측정을 위한 과학적인 체력검정 시스템을 구축하여 대한민국이 세계 최고의 치안서비스를 제공하는 치안강국으로 자리매김하기를 기대해 본다.

중년여성의 체성분이 체력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Research on the Influence Middle-Aged woman's Body Composition Affects Physical Fitness)

  • This study examined the relationship between body fitness and body composition as well as the body fluid and intracellular fluid (ICF) of extremities to determine body composition's quantitative criteria for body fitness. Multiple-frequency segmental bioelectrical impedance analysis and the physical fitness test provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology were used to measure body composition and physical fitness, respectively. The test results showed that in women in their fifties, the correlation between the amount of body fluid in the upper limbs and grip strength was r=.654 (p<0.01) for the right arm and r=.445 for the left while that between the amount of ICF in the upper limbs and grip strength was r=.708 (p<0.01) for the right and r=.323 for the left. Also, in women in their fifties, the correlation between the amount of body fluid in the lower limbs and the result of a repetitive side jump test was r=.730 for the right leg and r=.753 for the left (p<0.01 for both), and that between the amount of ICF and the counts for the right and left legs was even higher with r=.742 and r=.763, respectively (p<0.01 for both). The body fluid and ICF volumes in the right extremities exceeded those in the left, and physical fitness was correlated with both body fluid and ICF. These findings indicate a connection between physical fitness and body fluid and ICF, suggesting that body composition may help predict physical fitness.

소방공무원 수험생의 체력검정을 위한 12주간 훈련이 체력요인, 심혈관계요인에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of 12-Week Training for the Physical Fitness and Cardiovascular Factors to Examine Physical Fitness on Firefighters Test-Taker)

  • 본 연구는 소방공무원 수험생을 대상으로 12주간 훈련이 체력요인, 심혈관계요인 변화에 미치는 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자발적 참여를 동의한 20-30대 남자 40명을 소방공무원 체력검사종목 훈련군(이하 PT group), 소방공무원 체력검사종목과 유산소훈련 병행군(이하 PT+AR group), 소방공무원 체력검사종목과 무산소훈련 병행군(이하 PT+AN group), 소방공무원 체력검사종목과 유무산소복합훈련 병행군(PT+CO group)으로 나누어 실시하였다. 분석항목으로는 체력요인(악력, 배근력, 앉아 윗몸 앞으로 굽히기, 제자리멀리뛰기, 윗몸일으키기, 20m왕복오래달리기), 심혈관계요인(총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, 고밀도지단백 콜레스테롤, 저밀도지단백 콜레스테롤, 글루코스, 허리둘레, 수축기혈압, 이완기혈압) 및 Framingham Heart Risk Score와 체력요인, 심혈관계 요인의 관계를 비교 분석하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 본 연구에서 실시한 12주간 체력검정을 위한 훈련이 체력과 심혈관계에 효과적임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 따라서, 체력검정을 위한 훈련이 소방공무원 수험생들의 체력향상과 심혈관질환 위험을 감소시키는데 효과가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

Research on Physical Characteristics of Chinese College Students of Different Physical Activity Levels

  • Through a investigation of the physical activity status of 1794 undergraduates who were non-sports majors from freshman to senior in Jiangxi Normal University, to analyze physical fitness status of college students with different physical activity levels. The results showed that in physical activity, high-intensity physical activity of male was higher than female, while medium-intensity and low-intensity (insufficient) physical activity of female was higher than male. College students' high-intensity physical activity group's physical test scores were better than the medium-intensity physical activity group, and the medium-intensity physical activity group was superior to the low physical activity group. In terms of physical fitness, among the test indicators of body shape and physiological function, the vital capacity and body mass index of male and female were ranked at a pass level. In the physical fitness test indicators, the performance of college students' endurance qualities was better while the overall performance of strength qualities was lower. The overall fitness of college students was ranked at a pass level, and the physical test scores of female were better than male.

낙상예방체조가 노인의 체력 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Falls Prevention Exercise on Functional Fitness in Elderly)

  • Background: This study was to investigate effects of falls prevention exercise on functional fitness in elderly. Methods: A total of 45 healthy over 65years old adults (men=15, women=30) who were participated in this study. Exercise were involved in the period of 12 week complex physical training for around 50 minutes a day, three times per week. We measured subjects' physical activity levels by short physical performance battery(SPPB) test, timed up & go(TUG) test, one leg standing test(OLST) with closed eyes and maximal step length (MSL) test. Results: After falls prevention exercise, there were statically significant differences in SPPB, TUG, OLST and MSL test (P<.01) between pre and post test. There were statically significant differences in SPPB, TUG, OLST, MSL between pre and post test in men and women. There were statically significant differences between men and women in SPPB, TUG, OLST and MSL test. Conclusion: Falls prevention exercise had significant effects on physical fitness level in elderly, with a result increase muscle strength, balance ability and it might prevent falls.

단전호흡운동이 양주시 보건소 이용주민의 체력, 혈액지질, 신체증상에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program on Physical Fitness, Levels of Serum Lipid and Physical Symptom of People Using Public Health Center at Yangju City)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program on physical fitness, levels of serum lipid and physical symptom of people using public health center at Yangju city. Method: One group pretest-posttest design was utilized for this study. This study has been done from July 6 to September 28, 2005 and the subjects of the study were 28 persons. Danjeon breathing exercise was carried out for 60 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Physical fitness was measured using the Health Management System developed by the Korea Physical Science Institution. Serum lipid level was measured in public health center at Yangju city. Questions of physical symptom (35 items) were chosen from Cornell Medical Index. The collected data were processed by using the SPSS PC program and analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Result: 1. The scores of back strength, flexibility and balance of post-test were more increased after Danjeon breathing exercise than those of pre-test. But the score of muscular endurance of post-test was not significantly increased. 2. The degrees of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride of post-test were more decreased after Danjeon breathing exercise than those of pre-test. But the degree of HDL-cholesterol of post-test was not significantly increased in statistics. 3. The score of physical symptoms of post-test was not significantly decreased in statistics after Danjeon breathing exercise than that of pre-test. Conclusion: It is concluded that the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program could increase the physical fitness and decrease levels of serum lipid. So Danjeon breathing exercise could be utilized to promote physical fittness and to decrease level of serun lipids.

원자력발전소 특수경비원을 위한 체력검정방법 개발 (Development of Fitness Test Method for Special Guard in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • 원자력 안전에 대한 국민적 관심이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 가운데 그동안 비정규직으로 위탁운영되던 원자력발전소 특수경비원의 정규직화가 추진 중에 있다. 특수경비원은 시설경비하기, 무기 사용하기, 비상사태 대응하기, 출입통제하기 등 상당한 수준의 체력이 요구되는 직무를 수행하는 바, 특수경비원의 정규직화 과정에 있어 이들의 체력검정방안에 대한 논의가 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 통해 한국, 미국, 일본 3개국의 경찰, 소방, 군인을 대상으로 한 체력검정방법을 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 기존 특수직종별 체력검정방법의 특징과 장·단점을 고찰하고자 하였다. 이후 전문가 회의를 거쳐 원자력발전소 특수경비원에게 적합한 새로운 체력검정방법을 도출하였다. 또한 본 연구는 개발된 체력검정방법이 현장에 도입될 수 있도록 체력검정결과를 해석할 수 있는 가이드라인을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 74명의 피검자를 대상으로 체력검정을 실시하였으며, 실험결과를 기초로 특수경비원 체력검정종목별 예상기록을 제시하였다.

농촌 여성노인들의 우울과 건강체력간의 관련성 연구 (A Study on the Correlation between Elderly Women's Depression and Physical Fitness)

  • Purpose: This study has been performed to identify the correlation between depression and physical fitness of the elderly women living in a rural area. Methods: The target people were chosen and visited on February, 2011. We could meet them at a community health center in Jeonnam. The questionnaire answered by 321 was conducted to figure out the degree of depression. Also, physical fitness using senior fitness test was measured. This study was analyzed using $x^2$ test, Fisher exact test, t-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient by SAS program. Results: It was analyzed that distribution of depression was 31.9%, and depression was correlated with upper flexibility (p<.001). There was no significant relation to physical fitness by depression except weight (p=.039) and back scratch (p=.007) as well. Conclusion: These results can not only contribute to understanding of the depression of the elderly women, but also suggest that depression prevention program is necessary for them.
