This paper proposes the integration of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems for sustained power generation. In this proposed system, whenever the PV system cannot completely meet load demands, the super capacitor provides power to meet the remaining load. A power management strategy is designed for the proposed system to manage power flows between PV array systems and supercapacitors (SC). The main task of this study was to design PV systems with storage strategies including MPPT with direct control and an advanced DC-link controller and to analyze dynamic model proposed for a PV-SC hybrid power generation system. In this paper, the simulation models for the hybrid energy system are developed using Matlab/Simulink, SimPowerSystems and Matlab/Stateflow tool. This is the key innovative contribution of the research paper. The system performances are verified by carrying out simulation studies using practical load demand profile and real weather data.
We analyzed the system efficiency of small solar power plants with 80% of total solar power plants. The data of the solar power plant with installed capacity of 100kW was collected and the correlation of the ESS efficiency according to the capacity of the PCS and the battery of each power plant was deduced. As a result, the higher the C-rate value affecting the discharge rate of the battery, The discharge efficiency of the plasma display panel is increased.

In October 2011, a commercialized 100kW class floating photovoltaic system positive plant was installed at Hapcheon dam a multi-purpose reservoir the first time ever in the nation. Floating photovoltaic system differs in water float, mooring device and underwater cable process from land photovoltaic system. As for land and building photovoltaic power generation equipments, many installation cases and skilled experiences are available, and thus installation is not difficult. However, commercial power generation floating photovoltaic system, which is attempted for the first time in the nation, requires to be designed and installed through a series of processes like technical review and verification of data by process in comparison with similar cases. The structure of floating photovoltaic system, an equipment for float photovoltaic module and other electrical equipment, is required to withstand weather environments like wind or typhoon etc and yet not affect water quality negatively, and for implementation of this system, construction efficiency and economy etc should be considered comprehensively. In this paper, the techniques of installing floating photovoltaic structure, mooring device, underwater cable, electrical equipment and remote monitoring control system are explained. The 100kW floating PV system is operating with 15% average capacity factor.
Recently, because of the depletion of fossil fuels and the environmental pollution by using fossil fuels and harmfulness of atomic power plants. the interests concerning new and renewable energy resources are rising increasingly. And of all new and renewable energy sources the PV generation systems are recognized as the most useful and desirable renewable energy source in allowance for installation conditions. In this development, the 3kWp photovoltaic power generation system is realized to verify the performance of the 3kWp PCS developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI). The photovoltaic array used in this system is composed of 60 modules of 50Wp capacity. The developed system is tested as procedures and items of test regulation recognized by governmen and the experimental results show the excellent electrical characteristics. Now, the 3kWp PCS developed is installed in the PV model house built in HHI plant and is being tested for practical use commercialization.
The loss in photovoltaic power due to hailstorms has been highlighted as a major issue in the sustained growth of the PV power plant industry. This study investigates the safety of a solar module by conducting a numerical analysis of a hail test according to the IEC 61215 standard. Our study aims to elucidate the detailed behavior between the ice and solar modules and the micro-cracks forming on solar modules during hailstorms. To analyze the impact of hail, we used the ANSYS AUTODYN software to evaluate the impact characteristics on a solar module with different front glass thicknesses. The simulations show that a solar module with a glass thickness of 4.0 mm results in excellent durability against hail. The results indicate the feasibility of using simulations to analyze and predict micro-cracks on solar modules tailored to various conditions, which can be used to develop new solar modules.

Global consumption of fossil fuels continues to increase. As developing countries use fossil fuel as much as the existing fossil fuel using countries, the total amount of fossil fuel consumed has risen. The finite fossil energy depletion insecurity have become serious. In addition, fossil energy is caused by environmental pollution, economic and social problems remain in assignments that need to be addressed. Although solar power is clean and has many benefits, there are several problems in the process of installing a solar power plant. To solve these problems, floating photovoltaic plants has emerged as an alternative. This floating photovoltaic plants location analysis has not been made yet. In this study, the conditions of the floating photovoltaic plants location is analyzed with the Analytic Hierarchy Process using the terrain and climate factors. The score is assigned to the attribute information of each factor by the classification table. After multiplied by the weight the result is analyzed by visualization of the score. As the result, the score of the northen part of Gyeongsangbuk-do province is higher than the southern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Especially Andongho lake in Andong City and the reservoir in Yeongyang-Gun are extracted as the optimal location. The score of the river boundary is low not the center of the river stream. It is expected that this study would be a more accurate floating solar power plant location analysis.
The need for floating photovoltaic is being emphasized to expand renewable energy but low residents' acceptance is a major obstacle to the deployment of floating photovoltaic. Using the discrete choice experiment, this study analyzed the preferences for community-based floating photovoltaic projects and proposed a method to increase the residents' acceptance of floating photovoltaic projects. The estimates of the marginal willingness to accept (MWTA) of the distance, the coverage ratio, the landscape, the project owner (public institution), and the project owner (large company) are -0.69%p/km, 0.13%p/%p, -0.57%p, -2.95%p, -1.73%p, respectively. According to the result of simulation analysis, the residents' acceptance is significantly higher when the project is operated by a public institution, with a choice probability of 58%, than when the project is operated by a private company, with a choice probability of 29%, 12% for a large and small company, respectively. In addition, as a result of the analysis of the expected returns, the results show that the closer the distance from the residence to the power plant, the higher the expected return.
This study proposed a model that can track MPP faster than the existing MPPT algorithm using the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO). The proposed model highly sets the acceleration constants of gbest and pbest in the PSO algorithm to quickly track the MPP point and eliminates the power instability problem. In addition, this algorithm was re-executed by detecting the change in power of the solar panel according to the rapid change in solar radiation. As a result of the experiment, MPP time was 0.03 seconds and power was 131.65 for 691.5 W/m2, and MPP was tracked at higher power and speed than the existing P&O and INC algorithms. The proposed model can be applied when a change in the amount of power is detected by partial shading in a Photovoltaic power plant with Photovoltaic connected in parallel. In order to improve the MPPT algorithm, this study needs a comparative study on optimization algorithms such as moth flame optimization (MFO) and whale optimization algorithm (WOA).

Solar power facilities to reduce carbon emissions are continuously being installed in forests, farmland, city, and on water. However, research on visual preferences and the psychological impact on observers after installing solar power facilities is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, shooting was conducted according to the viewing distance of the near, middle, and distant views of Hapcheon Dam, Korea's largest floating photovoltaic power plant. The acquired images were edited using Photoshop to compare the presence or absence of floating photovoltaic power generation facilities. In addition, psychological changes and visual preferences were analyzed through an EEG test and questionnaire among 50 participants. The results are summarized, as follows. First, the installation of water photovoltaic power generation facilities has a passive impact on the subjects' psychological changes and visual preference. Second, the psychological changes due to the installation of water photovoltaic power generation facilities were judged to affect almost all research subjects, regardless of nationality, gender, or universisty major. Third, the visual preference for installing the water photovoltaic power generation facility is low, which can be interpreted as the water photovoltaic power generation facility negatively affecting the "friendliness" and "naturalness" of the landscape. In addition, this change in visual preference was found to differ depending on the gender and universiity major of the subjects. Fourth, the psychological change and visual preference of the floating photovoltaic power generation facility according to the viewing distance, found that the close range had a higher effect than the middle and distant ranges.
