For this purpose, five male and female living alone aged 65 or older were interviewed in depth, and the data after the interview was qualitatively analyzed by Giorgi's method of phenomenological research. The study found five categories : 'feeling closer to death', 'loneliness due to lack of a partner to talk to', 'helplessness to a debilitated body phenomenon', 'disconnected relationships' and 'looking at God'. The findings that the faith proved to be an important factor of overcoming loneliness in the lives of the elderly, provide a foundation for understanding and the pastoral counseling of the elderly living alone in churches.

  • This study was conducted to understand the essential structure and meaning of the experience of participating in the Jigsaw class designed to achieve the learning goals for nursing students with different basic learning abilities, and to prepare a plan for each individual to learn as a collaborator rather than a competition with each other. As a study based on Giorgi's phenomenological research method and in-depth interviews, data collection was collected from 10 study participants from December 1, 2023 to December 20, 2023. The main question used in the interview was "What impressed you after participating in Jigsaw teaching meathod?" The transcribed data were analyzed through the stages of overall recognition, classification of semantic units, transformation of semantic units into psychological expressions, and integration into general structures according to Giorgi's qualitative analysis method. As a result, a total of 89 semantic units, 35 essential psychological meanings, 13 sub-components, and 6 components were derived. The six components include 'good communication', 'difference appear in material preparation', 'easy to understand', 'finding team members who form a learning atmosphere well', 'A talkative class', and 'Unprepared team members are uncomfortable'. Based on the above results, it is expected that students in a passive position in class will become teachers themselves, take responsibility for preparing for learning, and provide useful basic data for developing programs that cooperate among students.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the experiential meaning of child-rearing for marriage immigrant women in Korea in the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods: Using the hermeneutic descriptive phenomenology framework developed by Colaizzi, 10 marriage immigrant women rearing preschool and school-age children were invited through purposive and snowball sampling from two multicultural support centers in Korea. The participants were rearing one or two children, and their original nationalities were Vietnamese, Japanese, Cambodian, and Chinese. Individual in-depth, face-to-face, semi-structured interviews were conducted from September 1 to November 30, 2021. We extracted significant statements from the transcripts, transformed these into abstract formulations, and organized them into theme clusters and themes to authentically capture the essence of the participants' subjective experiences. Results: Four theme clusters with 14 themes were derived. The four theme clusters identified were "navigating child healthcare alone," "guilt for not providing a social experience," "worry about media-dependent parenting," and "feelings of incompleteness and exclusion." This study explored the perspectives of mothers raising children as marriage migrant women who experienced physical and emotional health crises due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: The findings underscore that marriage immigrant women encountered heightened challenges in managing their children's health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic due to linguistic and cultural barriers limiting access to healthcare and information. Additionally, these women experienced considerable emotional stress from perceived inadequacies in providing a holistic social and developmental environment for their children under extensive social restrictions.

The phenomenon of interest was described, followed by collecting participants' descriptions of the phenomenon and extracting concepts from significant statements. These concepts were then organized into thematic clusters, followed by exhaustive descriptions into which data was applied to extract the final categories. Results: The results were deduced into 226 re-statements, 38 constructed meanings, 23 themes, 11 theme clusters, and 5 categories. The five categories include 'Increased interest in physical health,' 'Selective dietary patterns influenced by lifestyle,' 'Lifestyle formed by social adaptation,' 'Health complications caused by self-body images,' 'Engages in healthy dietary behavior'. Conclusion: This study described the experiences of female college students' lifestyles after completing a course in health promotion.
