Development of an Operating Software for a Model Plant using INTERBUSs (INTERBUSs를 이용한 모델 플랜트의 구동 소프트웨어의 개발)

  • This study develops and operating software for a model plant. The model plant consists of an AS/RS system, two machining centers, an assembly line, and supplementary material handling equipments. Devices of each component are connected with the IBS RT24 DIO 16/16-T I/O module. Each I/O module communicates digital signals with the INTERBUS controller board via SUB-D 9 Connector cable. This study is a previous stage for developing an educational CIM software. Petri Nets is used for modelling the storage/retrieval of the AS/RS system, the flow of workpieces and the assembly line for parts. The operating software is coded with Microsoft Visual $C^{++}$ 5.0 and Interbus Library which is a software driver for the controller board. The operating software can be run on a MS Windows 95. Microsoft Access is used for the implementation of databases for BOM, AS/RS, and parts.

  • 적합성 시험은 프로토콜 구현물인 IUT(Implementation Under Test)가 프로토콜 규격과 일치하는지를 검증하는 것으로, 이 적합성 시험의 질은 생성된 시험열에 의존한다. 기존에는 시험열 생성이 수작업으로 이루어지기 때문에 오류의 가능성을 내포한다. 본 논문에서는 자동화된 툴(tool)인 Design/CPN을 이용하여 SDL(Specification and Description Language)로 기술된 프로토콜의 시험열을 생성한다. SDL로 기술된 프로토콜을 자료흐름을 고려한 CPN(Colored Petri Nets)으로 변환 후 Design/CPN에 입력하여 자동 생성된 OG(Occurrence Graph)와 디스크립터 (descriptor)로부터 시험열을 생성함으로써, 기존의 시험열 생성 방법에 비해 오류 가능성을 줄일 수 있으며, 자료 흐름이 고려된 시험열을 얻을 수 있다.

  • This paper introduces the development of a range sensor based integrated navigation system for a multi-functional indoor service robot, called PSR (Public Service Robot System). The proposed navigation system includes hardware integration for sensors and actuators, the development of crucial navigation algorithms like mapping, localization, and path planning, and planning scheme such as error/fault handling. Major advantages of the proposed system are as follows: 1) A range sensor based generalized navigation system. 2) No need for the modification of environments. 3) Intelligent navigation-related components. 4) Framework supporting the selection of multiple behaviors and error/fault handling schemes. Experimental results are presented in order to show the feasibility of the proposed navigation system. The result of this research has been successfully applied to our three service robots in a variety of task domains including a delivery, a patrol, a guide, and a floor cleaning task.

  • This paper develops a control approach to generic formation tasks of multiple mobile robots with inaccurate sensor information. Inaccurate sensor information means that all the robots have only local sensors which cannot accurately measure absolute distances and directions of objects. The control logic is developed considering generic situations in order to adapt to increasing number of robots which participate in the formation. Petri nets are used for modeling and design of the control logic, which can visualize the control models and make it easy to check the states of each robot.   • In this paper, a modelling methodology for a robotic workcell is proposed and compared with the conventional Petri nets model. Also, a method for managing the cell operation is described through the knowledge base. The knowledge bases for state transition and assembly job information are obtained from the state transition map(STM) and the assembly job tree(AJT), respectively. Using the knowledge base, the system structure is discussed in both managing the cell operation and evaluating the various performance. Finally, a simulation algorithm is presented with the simulation results to show the effectiveness of the proposed modelling approach.

  • The performance evaluation of flexible manufacturing systems or cells at the stages of design and planning is one of important issues in manufacturing. For that reason, Guo has presented an approachbased on moment generating function and generalized stochastic PetriNets for performance analysis. In this paper, Buo's approach is extended tothe cases of flexible manufacturing cell including one machining center with a local buffer, AS/RS(Automatic Storage and Retrieval System), set-up station and AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). Then the performance measures from this approach is compared with simulation. The major advantage ofthis method over existing performance evaluation methods is the ability to compute analytic solutions for performance measures.

  • In this paper an experimental microsatellite packet radio protocol based on the terrestrial AX.25 amateur packet radio protocol is introduced and its protocol is modeled by the extended Petri Nets with timers and counters. Finally, this protocol is validated in terms of correctness, recovery, boundness, deadlock, etc by its reachability tree.

  • In the automated manufacturing systems, the problem regarding how to make production activities flexible is even more important and critical than that regarding how to product large quantities, and the more flexible, if possible, the manufacturing system is, the more competitiveness and profitable factors it gets. This research, therefore, concentrated on establishing the flexibility and evaluating performance on the manufacturing system, operational flexibility is considered because of enabling the manufacturing system to get both the improvement of production rate and the adaptive ability of environment changes. For it, we used the analytical tool, GSPNs, which is a kind of timed Petri-Nets. GSPNs is competent enough to consider practical situations just like operation priorities, machine failure, randomness, concurrency and so on. Through the GSPNs analysis, it is confirmed that in the manufacturing system with operational flexibility is compatible with the traditional performances such as production rate or mean waiting time.

  • 생산 시스템은 일반적으로 규모가 크고 복잡하며 동시 발생적인 특성을 가지는 경우가 많다. 이러한 특징은 시스템의 행태를 사전에 분석하고 시뮬레이션하기 위한 모델링에 많은 어려움을 가져오게 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 객체지향 페트리네트를 이용한 생산시스템 모델링 및 분석 도구를 제사한 것이다. 기본적인 구조는 페트리네트를 객체의 개념으로 구성하는 것이다. 객체의 개념으로 페트리네트를 구성하고 시스템의 행태는 객체간의 메시지 교환과 객체내의 행태로 표현된다. 시스템 분석에 있어서는 객체간의 메시지 전달관계와 객체내의 행태 분석 등이 가능하다. 대상 시스템이 객체의 클래스 개념으로 구성되기 때문에 복잡도가 많이 감소될 수 있다. 특히 본 논문에서는 상속성의 개념을 객체 지향 페트리네트에서 어떻게 구현할 것인가에 대한 방법과 분석 방법이 제시되었다.

Integrated Object-oriented Modular Design of AMS (자동화 생산시스템의 통합 객체지향 Modular 설계 접근)

  • Development of control model and system for AMS (Automated Manufacturing Systems) has long been interested by researchers. Presented in the paper is a systematic approach to constructing a Petri-nets(PNs) model of AMS and method for design a graphical model of a AMS by using a new modeling tool which is called PNs. So, the procedure of modeling in the AMS is the same as current practice of AMS design and is based on the IOM (Integrated Object-oriented Modeling) paradigm. An AMS, which consists of various machine groups, can produce machine parts in different physical dimensions and lot size. To model such a system, the method which utilizes Sub-PNs are proposed. This enables the models according to part routings. The machine group which causes bottleneck is obtained and modified to relieve the problem. By iterating these steps which consist of modelling, simulation, and performance evaluation, an AMS can e obtained which satisfies the required manufacturing conditions. Finally, the implementation issues of PN modeling are addressed. The approach is the IOM from PN modeling by Sub-PNs and the other is a development of IOM tool for the performance evaluation of AMS.
