그림자 영향을 고려한 PV 시스템의 VPO MPPT 제어 (Development of VPO MPPT of PV System Considering Shadow Influence)

  • 본 논문은 그림자 영향을 고려한 PV(Photovoltaic) 시스템의 VPO(Variable Perturbation & Observation)MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 제어를 제시한다. 태양전지의 출력 특성은 비선형이고 온도, 일사량 및 그림자의 영향을 많이 받는다. MPPT 제어는 태양광발전 시스템의 출력 및 효율을 증가시키기 위한 매우 중요한 기술이다. 종래의 PO(Perturbation & Observation)와 IC(Incremental conductance) 등은 지속적인 자려진동에 의해 MPP(Maximum Power Point)를 찾는 방법으로 그림자 영향에 의해 출력이 급격하게 변할 경우 MPPT 제어를 수행하지 못한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 출력 변동에 따라 스텝 값이 변하는 새로운 제어 알고리즘을 제시한다. 제시한 알고리즘은 일사량, 온도 및 그림자 영향에 대해 종래의 제어 알고리즘과 응답특성을 비교하고 이를 통해 제시한 알고리즘의 타당성을 입증한다.

  • The effect of bypass diodes on the output energy of solar cells was investigated under the condition of partial shading. The maximum power point was estimated using the perturbation & observation algorithm, taking into account the correlation effect between the arrangement and number of bypass diodes. The performance of the bypass diode was tested under the consideration of the partial shading effect and simulated using a Matlab/Simulink.

  • 본 논문에서는 대표적인 MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking)제어 알고리즘인 일정전압제어, P&O(Perturbation and Observation)제어, IncCond(Incremental Conductance)제어에 대하여 서술하고, 그 효율성을 검토해 보았다. 이를 위하여 시뮬레이션 및 효율시험을 통하여 정상상태 및 과도상태에 대한 각 알고리즘별 특성 및 효율을 분석하였다. 또한, MPPT 제어의 고효율화를 위하여 기존의 제어 알고리즘을 개선한 Two-Mode 제어법을 제안하였으며, MPPT 효율측정을 위한 회로구성 및 측정 방법을 제시하였다.

  • The photovoltaic system is affected by various conditions such as temperature and irradiance. Because non-uniform irradiation and partial shading conditions affect the entire string of cells connected in series, a bypass diode is used to bypass the current flow normally. In order to find the maximum power point in partial shade conditions, it is necessary to estimate various methods of maximum power point tracking. In this paper, the hybrid method of MPPT using Lambert W function and perturbation & observation algorithm is proposed under partial shading conditions. The simulation results are obtained using MATLAB/Simulink and shows the improvement of the accuracy of MPPT.

  • 저궤도 위성이 제한된 전력 내에서 임무를 성공적으로 수행하기 위해서는 효율적인 전력생산이 중요하다. 이를 위해 저궤도 소형위성의 전력계에서는 주로 MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) 방식을 사용하여 태양전지에서 생산되는 전력을 조절한다. 본 연구에서는 소형 큐브위성(KAUSAT-5)에 적용될 퍼지 로직 기반의 MPPT 알고리즘을 제안하며, 제안된 방법의 유용성을 확인하기 위해 MATLAB/Simulink와 STK (Systems Tool Kit)를 연동하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. Simulink와 STK를 이용하여 위성 궤도와 자세에 따른 태양 광량과 운용모드에 따라 변하는 부하용량에 대해 KAUSAT-5의 두 가지 지향모드에서 EBA(Energy Balance Analysis)를 수행하였고, 이를 통해 제안된 퍼지 로직 기반의 MPPT 알고리즘의 성능을 확인하였다. 제안된 퍼지 로직 기반의 MPPT는 가장 일반적인 방법의 하나인 P&O (Perturbation & Observation)와 성능을 비교하여 유용성을 확인하였다.

Differential Evolution for Regular Orbit Determination

  • The precise prediction of future position of satellite depends on the accurate determination of orbit, which is also helpful in performing orbit maneuvers and trajectory correction maneuvers. For estimating the orbit of satellite many methods are being used. Some of the conventional methods are based on (i) Differential Correction (DC) (ii) Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). In this paper, Differential Evolution (DE) is used to determine the orbit. Orbit Determination using DC and EKF requires some initial guess of the state vector to initiate the algorithm, whereas DE does not require an initial guess since a wide range of bounds for the design unknown variables (orbital elements) is sufficient. This technique is uniformly valid for all orbits viz. circular, elliptic or hyperbolic. Simulated observations have been used to demonstrate the performance of the method. The observations are generated by including random noise. The simulation model that generates the observations includes the perturbation due to non-spherical earth up to second zonal harmonic term.

  • The photovoltaic power system is effected by atmospheric condition. Therefore, The maximum power point tracking(MPPT) algorithm of the Photovoltaic (PV) power system is needed for high efficiency. Many MPPT techniques have been considered in past, but In this paper, the author analyzes widely known P&O MPPT algorithm and ImP&O algorithm, and presents new MPPT algorithm complementing weaknesses of other two algorithms.

가변 IC 방법을 이용한 태양광 발전의 MPPT 제어 (MPPT Control of Photovoltaic using Variable IC Method)

  • This paper proposes variable incremental conductance(IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic. The conventional perturbation & observation(PO) and IC MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small step size reduces a tracking error in the steady state but slows a tracking speed in the transient state. Also, a large step size is fast a tracking speed but increases a tracking error. Therefore, this paper proposes variable IC MPPT algorithm that adjust automatically step size according to operating conditions. To improve a tracking speed and accuracy, when operating point is far from the maximum power point(MPP), the step size uses maximum value and when a operating point is near from the MPP, the step size uses variable step size that adjust according to slope of P-V curve. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional PO and IC MPPT algorithm.

  • Radio occultation (RO) has been used in the planetary science since Microlab-1 was launched in 1995. With the RO technique, the profiles of atmosphere and the global atmospheric data can be obtained. In 2006, Taiwan launched six low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites as the RO constellation mission, known as FORMOSAT-3. In order to retrieve the RO data from original data, a retrieval algorithm, NCURO, is developed. The input of NCURO algorithm is mainly the excess phase of GPS signal, and the output is the dry pressure and dry temperature. Using temperature profiles retrieved by NCURO algorithm, temperature perturbation and potential energy of gravity wave have been evaluated. In this paper, the retrieval algorithm and the global distribution of energy of gravity waves are described and demonstrated.

  • This paper proposes the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic system using fuzzy based variable step size perturbation & observation(FVSS-PO) method. Conventional PO and incremental conductance(IC)MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small fixed step size will cause the tracking speed to decrease and tracking accuracy of the MPP will decrease due to large fixed step size. Therefore, the fixed step size can't be satisfying both the tracking speed and the tracking accuracy. This paper proposes FVSS-PO MPPT algorithm that adjusts automatically step size of PO by fuzzy control according to operating conditions. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional PO MPPT algorithm.
