Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of assertiveness training on nurses' assertive behaviors, interpersonal relations, communication conflicts, conflict management style and personnel turnover rate. Method: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used in this study, Nurses were assigned into the experimental or control groups, each consisting of 39 nurses. Data was collected between January to March 2004. An 'Assertiveness Training Program' for Nurses developed by Park was used for the study. To emphasize assertiveness practice, 5 practice sessions utilizing ABCDE principles were added to Park's program. To examine the effects of the program, differences between the two groups in assertive behaviors, interpersonal relations, communication conflicts, conflict management style and personnel turnover rate were analyzed using ANCOVA. Results: The assertiveness training was effective in improving the nurses' assertiveness behaviors, but was not effective in improving interpersonal relations, reducing the subjects' communication conflicts, changing the conflict management style or reducing their personnel turnover rate. Conclusion: There have been many studies about factors affecting nurses' personnel turnover rates, but few have been done about methods of intervention to reduce the personnel turnover rate. Thus, this study provides a significant contribution in attempting such an intervention from nursing management perspectives.

Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) represent quite a large proportion of the Information Technology (IT) industry as a whole in terms of the sales revenue and the number of employees. And their role has been constantly growing. However, they have suffered from the shortage and turnover of skilled IT personnel. Under the background, this study focuses on how to effectively retain IT personnel in SMEs. Job embeddedness is the newly emerging concept in the turnover research. It is known that job embeddedness predicts turnover better than the traditional attitude variables such as job satisfaction and it can be developed by human resource practices. So, this study empirically investigates the relationship among human resource practices, job embeddedness and turnover intention. The survey results of 193 IT personnel reveal that compensation, technical competency development, recognition and work-life balance practice have statistically significant effects on job embeddedness, and that job embeddedness has a negative influence on turnover intention of IT personnel. Based on these results, the implications for managing turnover issues in IT SMEs are suggested.

System Integration Projects, especially in public sector, have a tendency of growing in size and duration. Under such environment the effects of IT personnel turnover becomes a serious problem. In addition a high rate of turnover hinders shill accumulation and competitiveness obtainment. In this research we explored the reasons of turnover by way of tracing IT personnel who have involved in large-scale SI projects and moved or quit before the completion of the projects. Based on previous research we identified three dimensions of variables that affected turnover : task-related dimension, human relations dimension, treatment-related dimension. We used these dimensions as a guideline for the interview and questioning exploration. Implications from the research for improving IT Personnel management are also elaborated.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the factors influencing health personnel's occupational stress on turnover intention regarding healthcare accreditation. Methods: A survey was conducted from May 17 to May 31, 2021, among participants to examine occupational stress and turnover intention among health personnel working at a 188-bed specialized hospital in Seoul that is preparing for healthcare accreditation. Results: Occupational stress regarding healthcare accreditation was found to have a positive correlation with turnover intention (r=.698, p <.001), and influenced turnover intention the most, which explains the variance of 55.8% (F=29.015, p <.001). There were significant differences between occupational groups in job stress (F=13.292, p<.001) and turnover intention (F=10.930, p <.001) in the healthcare accreditation. Conclusion: Occupational stress regarding healthcare accreditation is higher in nursing than in other occupations, indicating the need to lower the turnover intention of nurses by preparing a national institutional standard for nursing manpower and also put in place an appropriate compensation system for each hospital seeking accreditation.
Purpose - This work aims to study the existing management process and methods of statistical evaluation of personnel mobility management, and propose improvement measures. This is particularly relevant in today's market economy because proper organization of personnel movement affects the availability and effective utilization of human resources in enterprises. Hence, it influences the volume, timely execution of work, equipment efficiency, and consequently the volume of production, its cost, profit, and other economic indicators. Research design, data, and methodology - We investigate the indicators that measure staff mobility, and their dependent consequences. Further, it analyses the factors influencing high staff turnover, which is a main indicator of staff mobility. Results - Measures for staff mobility development and prevention of turnover are proposed. Micom Systems is a sample case that has developed special programs to reduce staff turnover. Conclusions - Staff mobility leads to additional costs, significant loss of working time, and increase in defects. However, the advantages of staff mobility outweigh these negative factors. The role of staff mobility in a market economy cannot be overestimated.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship of emergency department(ED) nurse's job characteristics, organizational commitment and turnover intention. Method: This study was conducted through a survey of 171 nurses from ED in nine general hospitals of Band U cities. The data were collected by self-report questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSS WIN 17.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score for job characteristics was 3.37. Job characteristics according to position, number days night duty, and monthly income showed significant differences. Turnover intention according to age, total career, and monthly income showed significant differences. A significant positive correlation was found between job characteristics and organizational commitment. Significant negative correlations were found between job characteristics and turnover intention, organizational commitment and turnover intention were found. The significant factors influencing turnover intention were organizational commitment, monthly income, and total career, which explained 27.6% of the variance. Conclusion: The findings indicate that nurse managers should analyze the reasons for high turnover intention, focusing on the main factors affecting turnover intention and consider solutions for decreasing turnover intention.

Purpose: This study was to identify the factors influencing turnover intention of nurses in small and medium-sized hospitals. Method: The participants in this descriptive survey on causal relations were 192 nurses who were working at small and medium-sized hospitals in Daegu city. The data were collected by self-reporting questionnaires and analysed by the SPSS Win 14.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean for job characteristics scores were 2.90, the job satisfaction scores were 3.00, the organizational commitment scores were 3.00, job stress scores were 2.42, the turnover intentions scores were 3.08. Turnover intention according to general features were shown as following; age, marital status, clinical career, work schedule type, frequency of night duty. The relationship between turnover intention and job stress had positive correlation. But the relationship between turnover and other factors that job satisfaction, organizational commitment had negative correlation. The causal factors of turnover intention were organizational commitment, job satisfaction, job stress, and job characteristics, frequency of night duty. $R^=.39$. The organizational commitment were the highest significant predictors of turnover intention. Conclusions: The findings of study suggest that broad intention program should be provided to prevent problems of turnover.
Recruiting and maintaining capable IS personnel is crucial to on-time application developments and information services that can gear to corporate strategic planning and to achieve corporate goals and objectives. A shortage of fine IS staff has been always a threat to providing satisfactory IS services and a constraint that holds companies back to expand further and operate more efficiently. Therefore, it is necessary to understand factors that satisfy IS personnel and then restrain them not to leave their current job positions. However, little study has been done about what these factors are and how these factors are related to the turnover intention each other especially using domestic data. Therefore, this study suggested a structural turnover intention model and investigated relationships among the selected factors including demographic variables, career-related variables, job satisfaction, career satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intentions. Major findings are: i) overall, career-related variables, job satisfaction and organizational commitment significantly determine the turnover intention, ii) contrary to the U.S. studies, our IS people tend to show lower organizational commitment as they become older and get more experience, and iii) contrary to the U.S.'s findings, career-related variables are negatively related to organizational commitment. Implications and discussions of these findings are also described.

This study aims to suggest research implications that may contribute to preventing turnover of personnel in small and medium sized software companies. A research model is developed based on the Bergiel, et al. (2009) and Woo and Hwang (2010). This model describes how human resource management (HRM) practices (compensation, recognition, job autonomy, technical capability development, work-life conflict) affect turnover intention, through the mediating effects of job satisfaction and job embeddedness. 177 questionnaires are collected and analyzed. Validity and reliability of measures, and appropriateness of the structural model are verified. Results of the hypotheses testing are somewhat different from the expected ones: Only compensation and technical capability development are significant, but the remaining variables are not significant in affecting job satisfaction and job embeddedness. As for turnover intention, job embeddedness and job satisfaction are proved to be significant predictors. From the analyses of data, subsequent interview with several respondents and additional data analyses, more research implications are derived. The study has a limitation of not including more diverse variables that might affect job embeddedness and job satisfaction of so called road warriors.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the risk factors influencing turnover intention of nurses. Method: The participants in this descriptive survey on causal relations were 756 nurses who were working at a tertiary university hospital in Seoul. The data were put in to multiple regression analysis to build a prediction model. Results: Turnover intention according to general features were shown as following.: Age, Clinical careers, Educational level, Marital status, Economic status(Yearly income). The relationship between turnover intention and job stress had positive correlation. But the relationship between turnover and other factors that job satisfaction, internal marketing, and organizational commitment had negative correlation. The causal factors of turnover intention were organizational commitment, the factors of organizational support and patient/caregiver relationships among subcategories of job stress and the factor of professional position among subcategories of job satisfaction. Conclusions: The findings of study suggest that board intervention program should be provided to prevent problems of turnover. It is also recommended that a program be developed that can help control the variables identified in this study along with follow up study to verify the model.
