  • The recent expansion of large cities for economic benefits has worsened cultural inequalities within urban areas, eroding unique cultural identities and social values and deepening mistrust between regions. To tackle this, the idea of creating cultural cities is gaining traction, involving urban branding and cultural elements to foster balanced local cultural development. Current research primarily concentrates on case analysis in cultural cities, lacking sufficient studies examining the interplay of factors through empirical analysis, This study investigated whether Cultural City Formation Factors, which are resources of a cultural city, have a positive effect on City Brand Equity, City Innovativeness, Brand Personality, and Behavior Intention. For this study, questionnaires were collected from 310 people who continuously experience culture and arts in Seoul, and empirical analysis was conducted on 292 copies of them. Consequently, a significant impact was observed among the factors influencing cultural city formation, city brand equity, city innovativeness, brand personality, and behavioral intention. Moreover, it was verified that city brand equity, city innovativeness, and brand personality positively contributed to mediating effects as well as sequential mediating effects. It is expected that the results of this study will be used to establish the foundation for effective urban management and the development of strategies for creating cultural cities.

  • Most previous research on impression formation has been examined the effects of various informations exclusively within a category, either social category or individual characteristic. The present research examined and compared the priming effects of social category information (we and other) versus personality information (warm and cold) on impression formation. In Study 1, participants primed subliminally with combinations of social category and personality information (we/warm, we/cold, other/warm, and other/cold) were asked to rate faceial pictures on the good-bad and likable-dislikable dimensions. The analysis revealed only the significant main effects of social category information but not any effects of personality information on both the impression dimensions. In Study 2 in which participants were primed with either social category or personality information exclusively, priming of social category information influenced the judgments of likable-dislikable dimension and that of personality information influenced the judgments of good-bad dimension. These results suggest that personality information influences impression in general even though its impacts may be overwritten by social categorical information. The findings were discussed with its implication of everyday's impression formation and the cultural psychological perspectives.

  • Recently the formation of the project team to construct a MIS system is generalized and the relationship of the user and the system personnel in the project team should be important factor in the effectiveness of the team. However, the systematic research about the personality typology of the user and the system personnel is scarcely verified. Considering this necessity, this study is, using the IS personality typology, tried to find the relationship of the user and the system personnel in the project team. One of Jung(1924)'s personality typology is introvert and extrovert, however, this typology is founa to have many facets related with personality category. Recently Ackoff(1996) has tried this category more meaningful, which are subjective-internalizer, subjective-externalizer objective-internalizer one objective-externalizer. Moreover, he has proposed the methodology which could find the assimilarity among the team members. On the basis of this typology, this research is attempted to find the difference of the characteristics of the user and the system personnel. Through this research, we can understand the difference of the characteristics of the user and the system personnel and this understanding can make help us operating the team more effectively. The result has suggested that the effectiveness of the team has relied on the personality type of the user and the system personnel. Especially the personality type of new member who will join into team is an important factor in the effectiveness of teaming. Therefore, when we have a new member into team, we have to consider the personality type of new member. Moreover, the personality type of the management is an another critical factor which should be considered.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between personality and psychological responses induced by emotional stimuli (happiness, sadness, anger, boring and stress) for children. Background: Many researches are interested in assertion that there is close correlation between personality and emotion. The relationship between personality and emotion needs to be studied in view of the extended integration, not in view of respective property, because personality is deeply ingrained, and the relatively enduring patterns of thought, feeling and behavior and emotion can take advantage of individual differences in sensitivities to situational cues and predispositions to emotional state. In particular, studies on the personality and emotion for children are necessary in that childhood is an important period for formation of their personality and emotion expression and regulation. Method: Prior to the experiment, we made parents of 94 children rate personalities of their children, based on Korean Personality Inventory for Children (K-PIC). Results of 64 children without missing answers to all questions were analyzed. 64 children were exposed to five emotional stimuli and were asked to report the classification and intensity of their experienced emotion. Results: Children were classified into two groups of the lower 25% and higher 25% scores in twenty sub-scales of K-PIC, and psychological responses to five emotional stimuli between two groups were compared. Accuracy of emotion experienced by emotional stimuli showed a significant difference between the two groups, the lower and higher scores in Hyperactivity and Adjustment. Also, there was a significant difference in the intensity of experienced emotions between the two groups in Intellectual Screening and Psychosis. Conclusion: Our result has shown that hyperactivity, adjustment, intellectual screening and psychosis influence the accuracy and intensity of emotional responses. Application: This study can offer a guideline to overcome methodological limitation of emotion studies for children and help researcher basically understand and recognize human emotion in HCI.

  • A case of a 38 year-old woman with histrionic personality who had chronic epigastric pain, dyspepsia and alternating bowel habit for more than 10 years was presented in detail on its course of two times of admission and follow-up. The diagnosis was thought as psychophy-siological disorder or gastrointestinal motility disorder of undefined etiology rather than hypo-chondriasis or Briquet's syndrome. She was characterized by sustained illness behavior and combined several physical illnesses. i.e. tuberculosis. anemia and hepatic stone. These physical diseases led to a blurring of psychological and physical boundaries regarding symptom formation. The points on consultation from medical part to psychiatric department were discussed and the supposed causal mechanisms in non-organic functional gastrointestinal disturbances were also reviewed. Physical and psychological modalities for the treatment and the abnormal illness behavior were mainly emphasized in this case.
