Purpose: This study aims to explore the effects of personal characteristics, satisfaction, quality of care, role performance, image, awareness level of public hospitals perceived by community residents on use-experience of public hospitals. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 2,100 community residents around 39 district public hospitals. The questionnaire was designed to collected information on personal characteristics and community awareness of public hospitals. The community awareness consists of 5 factors and 15 items. The data were collected utilizing call-interview by a survey company. Results: The personal characteristic and community awareness were shown significant differences between having use-experience and not-having use-experience of public hospitals (p<.001), except gender. As the results of multiple logistic regression, the significant variables of use-experience of public hospitals were satisfaction (OR=1.06 95%CI=1.010-1.116), quality of care (OR=1.07, 95%CI=1.016-1.134, level of awareness to public hospitals (OR=1.50, 95%CI=1.378-1.632), age (OR=0.43, 95%CI=0.236-0.785), education (OR=1.62, 95%CI=1.013-2.590), type of medical security (OR=0.37, 95%CI=0.142-0.945). Conclusions: Public hospitals have to effort to improve community awareness through providing quality of care, and role performance. It is possible to support them by the Central and Local Government.
This study analyzed the multi-mediating effects of information security, personal information infringement, personal experience, and information security intention in the relationship between personal information protection and information security attitude. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 221 students from G University. First, information security, personal information infringement, and information security awareness had a simple mediating effect. Second, information security, personal information infringement, personal experience, and information security consciousness had parallel multi- mediation effects. Third, personal information infringement and information security awareness had a simple mediating effect in the parallel multiple mediation state. Fourth, information security had a simple mediating effect, but it was found that there was no simple mediating effect in the parallel multiple mediation state. This study is meaningful in that it empirically compared the simple and multi-mediation effects.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nurses' pain experience on the inference of their patients' suffering. Method: Study subjects were sampled from 184 nurses who worked in general wards in one S university hospital located at Seoul. Nurses' pain experience consists of personal pain experience and professional pain experience. The Standard Measure of Inference of Suffering (Davitz & Davitz, 1981) was used for suffering inference measure, and patients' suffering which consists of physical pain and psychological distress. Result: Suffering inference scores of nurses without personal pain experience revealed a higher value than that of nurses with personal pain experience. But these differences were not statistically significant. The higher intense pain was experienced, the higher were suffering inference scores. This physical pain inference score was statistically significant(p=.044). Of the nurses who had personal pain experience, suffering inference scores of nurses with unrelieved pain experience revealed a higher value than that of nurses with relieved pain experience. Physical pain and psychological distress inference scores were statistically significant(p=.010, p=.006). Suffering inference scores of nurses without professional pain experience(internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery) revealed a higher value than that of nurses with professional pain experience. Professional pain experience of internal medical illness was statistically significant in psychological distress of internal medical illness(p=.044), and professional pain experience of orthopedic surgical illness was statistically significant in physical pain of orthopedic surgical illness(p=.027). Conclusion: Nurses who have experienced low pain intensity or good pain relief are inclined n to underestimate patient' pain. Although nurses who care for the same patient over a long time deal skillfully with that patient, nurses are inclined to underestimate that patients' pain. Nurses need to be aware of possible biases related to pain assessment as a result of pain experience.

Methods: The data of the 2012 Youth Health Risk Behavior web-based Survey collected by Korean Center for Disease Control was analyzed using SPSS. Total 74,186 of middle and hish school students were included. Uni-variate analysis was done by complex sample crosstabs and multi-variate analysis was done by complex sample logistic regression. Results: The 26.8% of students experienced personal hygiene education. The students of boys, low school grade, coeducation, metropolitan, high school record and high economic status experienced more hygiene education. The hand-washing practices were high in the students with the experience of personal hygiene education. In the factors affecting the hand-washing practice, the experience of personal hygiene education was consistently significant. If students experienced the personal hygiene education, they showed 20~30% more rates of hand-washing practices. Conclusions: Hand-washing practice was high when experiencing personal hygiene education. The personal hygiene education was necessary to improve the rate of hand-washing practices.
Purpose: This study sought to analyze perceptions and attitudes regarding patient personal information protection according to the general characteristics of paramedic students and their clinical practice experience. Methods: A total of 215 paramedic students from G university in I metropolitan city and D university in G do were surveyed. Frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and one-way distribution analysis were conducted using the software SPSS version 23.0. Results: First, recognition regarding the operation of laws and systems related to medical law and personal information protection was high among students who had no clinical practice experience, and there were no differences with regard to students' general characteristics. Second, the level of recognition regarding patient personal information protection and exposure did not differ depending on students' general characteristics and clinical practice experience. The intensity of industrial accidents has been increased while the number of industrial accidents has been decreased in theses days. It represents that we need safety guidelines based on personal attributes as well as physical attributes. This study tries to identify major causative factors for industrial accidents and to suggest an evaluation model based on personal attributes. Specifically, relationship between self-efficacy belief associated with industrial safety and other relative personal attributes has been analyzed. First, FGI(Focus Group Interview) was conducted to identify important personal attributes of industrial accidents. The questionnaire was prepared based on the results of FGI and was applied to identifying personal attributes. The relationship between personal attributes identified in this study and self-efficacy belief was assessed using fuzzy logic and fault tree analysis. The results of the assessment showed that self-efficacy belief was closely associated with industrial accidents. Specifically, workers with accident experience had higher level of self-efficacy beliefs than workers without accident experience.

The proliferation of the Internet and the advent of e-commerce have amplified public concerns about privacy. Accordingly, much research effort has been made on the issue. While existing research on online information privacy has usually focused on the examination of antecedents of personal information disclosure, the literature has not paid attention to the potential changes of the antecedents' effects depending on the user's experience of the service. The current study aims to investigate the moderating role of site usage experience in Internet users' decision on personal information disclosure. Specifically, this study considers two types of antecedents of personal information disclosure on a site - the attributes of personal information requested (sensitivity and relevance of information) and the value of the service provided by the site; and examines how the effects of the antecedents on the disclosure intention are affected by the users'experience of the site. Our analysis of the data gathered through a web-based experiment reveals that site usage experience moderates the relationship between the attributes of personal information and disclosure intention. While usage experience attenuates the negative effect of information sensitivity on disclosure intention, it intensifies the positive impact that relevance of information has on disclosure intention. Based on the analysis results, we provide implications for the mitigation of the Internet users' privacy concerns as well as theoretical implications.
