  • Recently, there is an increasing demand for efficient high power/weight auxiliary power supplies for use on high speed traction application. many new conversion techniques have been proposed to reduce the voltage and current stress of switching components, and the switching losses in the traditional pulse width modulation(PWM) converter. Among them, the phase shift full bridge zero voltage switching PWM techniques are thought most desirable for many applications because this topology permits all switching devices to operate under zero voltage switching(ZVS) by using circuit parasitic components such as leakage inductance of high frequency transformer and power device junction capacitance. The proposed topology is found to have higher efficiency than conventional soft-switching converter. Also it is easily applicable to phase shift full bridge converter by applying an energy recovery snubber consisted of fast recovery diodes and capacitors.

실리콘 segment device로부터의 헤파린 방출에 미치는 폴리에틸렌글리콜의 영향 (Effect of Polyethylene Glycol on Release of Heparin from Silicone Segment Devices)

  • The influence of polyethylene glycol derivatives on heparin release from cylindrical monolithic type silicone segment devices was examined in physical saline solution. This water-soluble carrier caused the devices to absorb the water in aqueous media. The release rate of heparin from the devices was increased as molecular weight of polyethylene glycol was increased. Water soluble carrier incorporated into silitone segment devices permits controlled release of heparin that otherwise would be released extremly slowly from the polymer. Heparin released from the silicone segment containing polyethylene glycol showed the first-order kinetics. Without changing the release-pattern, the release rate of heparin could be controlled by varing molecular weight of polyethylene glycol, the water-soluble carrier and depleting polyethylene glycol on the outlayer of devices. The mechanism of release probably showed the creation of pore or microdomine through the devices secondary to the swelling.

아미노산 분석기에 의한 제제중 Taurine의 분리 정량에 관한 연구 (Determination of Taurine in Preparations by Amino Acid Autoanalyzer)

  • High performance amino acid analyzing method has been developed for the routine analysis of taurine in preparations. Ion-exchange resin #2619 Hitachi Custom Ion-Exchange Resin, $2.6(I.D.){\times}150$(length)mm was used as column, buffer I, pH 3.3 as mobile phase. The retention time of taurine was 7 minutes. Calibration curve by peak height for standard taurine was linear from 2.5ppm to 25ppm. The reproducibility showed relative standard deviation $\pm$1.9% when analyzed 10 times for standard solution. The samples could be continuously analyzed without regenerating the resin between samples. Five samples were applied to column every 12 min. and then the resin was regenerated for 30 min. during one analyzing cycle time, 90 min. The automatic amino acid analyzer has made it possible to assay multiple samples in a relatively short period of time using the analytical magnetic program card. The high sensitivity and specificity of the analytical column of the automatic amino acid analyzer permits the routine analysis of taurine in preparations.

Inference for exponentiated Weibull distribution under constant stress partially accelerated life tests with multiple censored

  • Constant stress partially accelerated life tests are studied according to exponentiated Weibull distribution. Grounded on multiple censoring, the maximum likelihood estimators are determined in connection with unknown distribution parameters and accelerated factor. The confidence intervals of the unknown parameters and acceleration factor are constructed for large sample size. However, it is not possible to obtain the Bayes estimates in plain form, so we apply a Markov chain Monte Carlo method to deal with this issue, which permits us to create a credible interval of the associated parameters. Finally, based on constant stress partially accelerated life tests scheme with exponentiated Weibull distribution under multiple censoring, the illustrative example and the simulation results are used to investigate the maximum likelihood, and Bayesian estimates of the unknown parameters.

Specialization, Firm Dynamics and Economic Growth

  • Productivity in agriculture or services has long been understood as playing an important role in the growth of manufacturing. In this paper we present a general equilibrium model in which manufacturing growth is stimulated by non-manufacturing sectors that provides goods used in both research and final consumption. The model permits the evaluation of two policy options for stimulating manufacturing growth: (1) a country imports more non-manufacturing goods from a foreign country with higher productivity and (2) a country increases productivity of domestic non-manufacturing. We find that both policies improve welfare of the economy, but depending on the policy the manufacturing sector responses differently. Specifically, employment and value-added in manufacturing increase with policy (1), but contract with policy (2). Therefore, specialization of the import non-manufactured goods helps explain why some Asian economies experience rapid growth in the manufacturing sector without progress in other sectors.

Hardy's Laodiceanism: Dare's Role in A Laodicean

  • Laodiceanism is the blueprint from which Hardy draws one of his most ingenuous effects: the creating of a Laodicean around which the novel constructs its ambiguity. Hardy's command of "ingenuity" joins both the leading heroine Paula and the minor character Dare into the same category of a Laodicean. Alongside Paula, Dare is the most important ingredient in the novel in that he acts as an enigmatic persona defying the reader's attempts to establish a coherent type. This paper aims to offer a close reading of Dare's life story, which is chosen for discussion as he has been deemed as a simple functionary and thus apparently escaped serious critical notice thus far. It is stressed that the structure of sensations Dare embodies is fascinating in the sense that it is a locus where the coexistence of both meaning and nonmeaning would not amount to harmonious peace or stability so much as permits the impossibility of single and central significance. In this coexistence is inscribed a notion that the binaries in opposition are endlessly inter-mingled in dialogic tension, which is the hallmark of Laodiceanism that Hardy aims to present through the creation of Dare.

  • .The healing of a bone defect is complex, and involves a wide range of cellular, molecular, physiological, and biological processes. The main effect of bone substitute is to promote wound healing by induce cell proliferation. Bone defect sites usually are localized below the original bone surface; therefore, space production and maintenance between the membrane and the original bone surface is essential. As a result, membranes must have proper mechanical strength to prevent the collapse of the soft tissue and maintain wound space that permits membranes of poly (L-lactide) (PLLA) were fabricated to provide and maintain sufficient space for bone growth.   • Recently, advanced countries assessment the risk of fire to prevent large-scale damage to high-rise buildings, In addition, performance-Based design, which is a fire risk assessment, is being conducted in Korea to prevent massive damage to high-rise buildings. However, unlike advanced countries, fire risk assessment in Korea is subject to fire risk assessment only for objects subject to consent from fire-fighting facilities such as building permits, When building engineers and fire-fighting engineers assessment the risk of fire, It has always been discussed because the results vary depending on which part of the evaluation is focused between economic feasibility and safety. Therefore, in this study, we would like to propose a fire risk assessment process suitable for domestic conditions by comparing the process of performance-based design, which is a domestic fire risk assessment, and the process of Iso/TC 16732 which is an overseas fire risk assessment.

  • Data mining has broad applications that reach beyond scholarly and scientific research and provide internet search engine services that are commonly used forms of Text and Data Mining('TDM') of websites. The exceptions and limitations for data mining provide a competitive advantage in the global race for policy innovation because it permits researchers to conduct computational analysis - TDM on any materials to which they have access. For this purpose, Japan and the EU added limitations on copyright to legalize some TDM research through amendments to copyright law, and the U.S. copyright law has allowed data mining by the fair use provision. On the other hand, there are no explicit exceptions and limitations for data mining under the Korean Copyright Act, and there are no cases considering data mining fair use. We review comparatively exceptions and limitations on copyright which will help to encourage AI-related business by using more data smoothly through the mining process and extracting more valuable information.

INTEGRATED PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT FOR WHOLE PHASES OF URBAN RENEWAL MEGAPROJECTS

  • Construction projects are vulnerable to diverse internal and external factors, requiring systematic and consistent performance management along the entire life cycle of a project. In particular, urban renewal projects have a range of performance measures, including policy reconciliation and permits, project development, project financing, design, construction, and occupancy and maintenance. This requires a program-level megaproject approach, which integrates each stage of a project as well as variety of stakeholders' interests in pursuing a project from different perspectives. However, previous research on performance management has focused especially on the limited scopes of factors, including cost, quality, and schedule at the project level or on financial factors at the firm level. Given the lack of current approaches, this study suggests an integrated and systematic performance management scheme to control urban renewal megaprojects at the broadened perspectives of the program level. To this end, this study adopts the balanced scorecard approach and elicits key performance indices associated with various project configurations. Finally, an algorithm is presented for quantitatively assessing the level of performances along whole life cycle of urban renewal megaprojects.
