  • In this paper, we consider a class of periodic It$\hat{o}$ stochastic delay differential equations by using the properties of periodic Markov processes, and some sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solution of the delay equations are given. These existence theorems improve the results obtained by It$\hat{o}$ et al. [6], Bainov et al. [1] and Xu et al. [15]. As applications, we study the existence of periodic solution of periodic stochastic logistic equation and periodic stochastic neural networks with infinite delays, respectively. The theorem for the existence of periodic solution of periodic stochastic logistic equation improve the result obtained by Jiang et al. [7].

  • A periodic disturbance canceler is proposed to compensate the periodic disturbance due to cutting process in a CNC machining center. For precision cutting, the combination of a disturbance observer and a periodic disturbance canceler is desirable in order to compensate both the frictional force and the periodic disturbance. This method is implemented in a position control system of a CNC machining center in cutting process and the experimental results are described to show its effectiveness.

  • This study is concerned with cost analysis in periodic maintenance policy. Generally periodic maintenance policy in which item is repaired periodic interval times. And in the article minimal repair is considered. Minimal repair means that if a unit fails, unit is instantaneously restored to same hazard rate curve as before failure. In the paper periodic maintenance policy with minimal repair is as follows; Operating unit is periodically replaced in periodic maintenance time, if a failure occurs between minimal repair and periodic maintenance time, unit is replaced by a spate until the periodic time comes. Also unit undergoes minimal repair at failures in minimal-repair-for-failure interval. Then total expected cost per unit time is calculated according to maintenance period and scale parameter of failure distribution. Total cost factors ate included operating, fixed, minimal repair, periodic maintenance and replacement cost Numerical example is shown in which failure time of system has erlang distribution.

  • In this paper we construct a homeomorphism on a Cantor set which is nearly periodic such that h(a) = b for given a, b $\in$ D$_{p}$. We also give an example which is not almost periodic and we discuss when a homeomorphism on a Cantor set is periodic.c.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study and characterize the notions of characteristic 0 and weakly almost periodicity in flows. In particular, we give sufficient conditions for the weakly almost periodic flow to be almost periodic.

  • We study the existence of positive T-periodic solutions of ratio-dependent predator-prey systems with time periodic and spatially dependent coefficients. The fixed point theorem by H. Amann is used to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of positive T-periodic solutions.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze periodic screening behaviors for breast cancer and factors affecting the screening behaviors among hospital nurses. Methods: A total of 461 nurses were recruited from 15 hospitals located in two southern areas of Korea. The Champion's Health Beliefs Model Scale-Korean version and a structured study questionnaire were used for data collection. Data were collected during July and August 2008. Results: Nurses who performed periodic mammography accounted for 15.6% of the total, while 22.8% performed periodic breast self-examination (BSE). Among married nurses, the rates of periodic mammography and BSE were significantly different by age, menopausal status, delivery experience, family history of breast cancer, and experiences of cervical cancer screening. Significant factors affecting periodic mammography were family history of breast cancer, experiences of cervical cancer screening, age above 40, and performance of periodic BSE. For health beliefs, levels of severity, confidentiality and barrier were significant factors for periodic BSE. Conclusion: Nurses, who are role models for health promoting behaviors, did not adequately performing periodic BSE and mammography. A health promotion program for breast cancer designed for hospital nurses is needed to improve performance rates for periodic screening behaviors for breast cancer.

  • In this paper, we present new results concerning the relationship between the input-output and Lyapunov stability of nonlinear system possessing a periodic orbit. Definition of small-signal finite-gain L$\sub$p/ stability around periodic orbit is introduced. We show L$\sub$p/ stability of exponentially stable periodic orbit using quadratic Lyapunov functions for the periodic orbit. The L$\sub$2/ gain analysis is presented with Hamiltonian-Jacobi inequality along with an example.
