This paper examines the recent changes of summer precipitation in the aspect of temporal and spatial features using long-term($1958{\sim}2007$) observed station data over South Korea. tong-term mean summer precipitation has revealed two precipitation peaks during summer(June to September); one is the Changma as the first peak, and the other is the post-Changma as the second peak. During the Changma period, the spatial distribution of the maximum precipitation areas is determined by the prevailing southwesterlies and the quasi-stationary front, which results in large amount of precipitation at the windward side of mountain regions over South Korea. However during the post-Changma period, the spatial distribution of the maximum precipitation areas is determined by the lower tropospheric circulation flows from the west and the southeast around the Korean peninsula, and the weather phenomena such as Typhoons, convective instability, and cyclones which are originated from the Yangtze river. The larger amount of precipitation is founded on the southern coastal region and mountain and coastal areas in Korea during the second peak. Time series of total summer precipitation shows a steady increase and the increasing trend is more obvious during the recent 10 years. Decadal variation in summer precipitation indicates a large increase of precipitation, especially in the recent 10 years both in the Changma and the post-Changma period. However, the magnitude of change and the period of the maximum peak presents remarkable contrasts among stations. The most distinct decadal change occurs at Seoul, Busan, and Gangnueng. The precipitation amount is increasing significantly during the post-Changma period at Gangnueng, while the precipitation increases in the period between two maximum precipitation peaks during summer at Seoul and Busan.

A new method to calculate the transmittable prevalence of an epidemic disease is proposed based on a back-calculation formula. We calculated the probabilities of reactivation and of parasitemia as well as transmittable prevalence (the number of persons with parasitemia in the incubation period) of malaria in South Korea using incidence of 12 years(2001-2012). For this computation, a new probability function of transmittable condition is obtained. The probability of reactivation is estimated by the least squares method for the back-calculated longterm incubation period. The probability of parasitemia is calculated by a convolution of the survival function of the short-term incubation function and the probability of reactivation. Transmittable prevalence is computed by a convolution of the infected numbers and the probabilities of transmission. Confidence intervals are calculated using the parametric bootstrap method. The method proposed is applicable to other epidemic diseases in other countries where incidence and a long incubation period are available. We found the estimated transmittable prevalence in South Korea was concentrated in the summer with 276 cases on a peak at the $31^{st}$ week and with about a 60% reduction in the peak from the naive prevalence. The statistics of transmittable prevalence can be used for malaria prevention programs and to select blood transfusion donors.
It is thought that the quantity and quality of the heat stimulation and the mechanism of heating process are important to understand the moxa-combustion. In order to get the basic data on the effective moxa-combustion method, combustion temperature changes (average temperature, peak temperature, average gradient temperature and maximum gradient temperature) of the heating period were measured respectively by the density of moxa material. For the experiment, samples of $300mg/0.26cm^3$ , $400mg/0.26cm^3$ and $500mg/0.26cm^3$ of moxa material were molded in a conical mold with each 10mm in diameter and height. 1. The average temperature and peak temperature of heating period on the moxa-combustion showed higher in the $400mg/0.26cm^3$ and $300mg/0.26cm^3$ than in the $500mg/0.26cm^3$ sample respectively. 2. The average gradient temperature of heating period on the moxa-combustion rose quickly in the $300mg/0.26cm^3$, $400mg/0.26cm^3$ and $500mg/0.26cm^3$ in that order and the maximum gradient temperature rose more quickly in the $300mg/0.26cm^3$ and $400mg/0.26cm^3$ than in the $500mg/0.26cm^3$ sample respectively. According to the above results, it is concluded that the density of moxa material is (the) more important (factor) than the weight or volume of moxa material on the combustion temperature changes of the heating period for the evaluation of the quality and quantity of moxa-combustion.
Local difference in post-overwinter developmental periods was investigated by incubating the overwintered larvae collected from 8 locations at $25^{\circ}C$ begining January 15 and February 15. Based on the 2nd incubation test, it was found that Chunseong colony had the shortest pre pupal period of 17.9 days, while Gwangsan colony had the longest 27.7 days. In general, prepupal period showed negative correlation with latitudes. Average pupal periods were not significantly different among colonies. Adult emergence period showed the same trend as prepupal periods. Chunseong and Pyeongtaeg colonies emerged faster than the other colonies and showed a single peak of adult emergence, while Nonsan, Iri, Gwangsan colony showed several peaks of adult emergence.
This study tries to show the physical growth patterns and various adolescent characteristics by using longitudinal data for the height, weight, chest girth and sitting height of 1, 132 high school students in Seoul. And this study also tries to show what influencing factors on the physical growth of this aged population. The followings are the results. 1. The boys have their peak velocity of height when they are 12~13 years old. And the girls have when they are 10~11 years old. Peak velocity of weight for boys is at the age of 13~14. And for girls is at the age ofr11~12. Peak velocity of chest girth for boys is at the age of 12~13. And for girls is at the age of 11~12. Peak velocity of sitting height for boys is at the age of 13~14. And for girls is at the age of 11~13. So girls of this period grow more rapidly by around two years than boys. 2. The menarche of girls begins at the age of 12.4. So it begins 1.4 year before peak height velocity period. 3. Of life behavior boys contingency coefficient between essential time and height and weight is .5150 and .479 5, that between studying time and height and weight is .3344 and and .2912(In case of girls is .4735, .4321, .3247, .3134).
Monthly test day production for 12,020 records, were collected from six of the largest specialized dairy farms located in central region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The records described lactating cows in four parities and two seasons of calving. Monthly test day records were fitted using Wood's model $At{{^b}{_e}}^{-ct}$ with multiple and additive error term. Linear and non-linear regression models were used to find the estimates of the parameters necessary to draw the lactation curves. The shape of the lactation curves of different parities showed that third lactation has the heighest peak (43.08 kg) for linear regression model and (42.08 kg) for non-linear regression model. Fourth lactation has the lowest peak (24.00kg) for linear regression model and (25.64 kg) for non-linear regression models. Cows of second and third lactations reached the peak at 58 day for both linear and non-linear regression models. Cows of first lactation were more persistent and had late peak at 68 and 67 days for both models respectively. While, third lactation cows were lower persistent and had early peak at 58 day for both models. Cows calved at winter months have higher starting values (A), higher ascending slope (b) and higher decending slope (c). Least square means of milk yield of the first four parities and for overall data were 6,653, 7,659, 7,482, 6,988 and 7,614 kg respectively. The corresponding lactation period were 358, 367, 350, 363 and 364 days respectively.

Bioactive properties of low molecular weight peptides purified from anchovy sauce fermented in underground at 15$\pm$3$^{\circ}C$ for 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively, were investigated. The fermented anchovy sauce for 1 year showed 3 peaks on gel permeation chromatography pattern, while 3 and 5 year fermented anchovy sauce showed 4 and 5 peaks, respectively. The longer fermentation period, the lower molecular weight of peptides on gel permeation chromatography pattern. Antioxidative, antitumor, and ACE inhibitory activities of low molecular weight peptides increased as fermentation period increased. Antioxidative and antitumor activities of peptide peak 3 purified from 3 year fermented anchovy sauce were the highest with 34 and 44 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL of $IC_{50}$/ values, respectively, while ACE inhibitory activity ($IC_{50}$/, 32 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL) of peak 3 purified from 1 year fermented was the highest.
Dynamic behavior of the molten drop during the peak period in the pulsed-GMAW is simulated in this work using the VOF(volume of the fluid) algerian. The dynamic characteristics of molten drop such as minimum radius, average velocity and displacement of mass center were computed as well as the internal pressure and velocity. The minimum and maximum peak durations for detaching a drop were calculated.. The result of Analysis reveals that peak current and volume of pendant drop are important factors which affecting drop detachment. A simplified model of constant acceleration is proposed to describe the behavior of molten drop during peak current, and its results agree with the experimental results.

By the speech production model, the first positive peak in a pitch interval of the voiced speech is mainly affected by the glottis and the first formant component, known as a typical energy source of the voiced speech. From these characteristics, the energy parameter can be replaced by the area of the area of the positve peak in a pitch interval, which parameter is generally used for classification of speech signals. In this method, the changed energy parameter is independent of window length applied for analysis, and the pitch can be extracted smultaneously. Furthermore, the energy can be extracted in the pitch period unit.
