We consider the busy period of an M/G/1/K queueing system with queue-length-dependent overload control policy. A variant of an oscillating control strategy that was recently analyzed by Choi and Kim (2016) is considered: two threshold values, $L_1({\leq_-}L_2)$ and $L_2({\leq_-}K)$, are assumed, and service rate and arrival rate are adjusted depending on the queue length to alleviate congestion. We investigate the busy period of an M/G/1/K queue with two overload control policies, and present the formulae to obtain the expected length of a busy period for each control policy. Based on the numerical examples, we conclude that the variability and expected value of the service time distribution have the most influence on the length of a busy period.

Pitch period that is a important factor in speech signal processing is used in various applications such as speech recognition, speaker identification, speech analysis and synthesis. So many pitch detection algoritms have been studied until now. AMDF which is one of pitch period detection algorithms chooses the time interval from valley point to valley point as pitch period. In selection of valley point to detect pitch period, complexity of the algoritm is increased. So in this paper we proposed the simple algorithm using modified AMDF that detects global minimum valley point as pitch period of speech signal and compared existing methods with it through simulation.

Kacdugi fermented in the subatomospheric pressure(350mmHg) and polyethylene film package to improve the quality and to investigate the effect of fermentative control at $25^{\circ}C$. Brix degree, acidity, vitamin C content and number of total microbe and Lactobacilli was determined and also, the edible period of kacdugi was checked up by sensory assessment. The increasing rate of brix degree during kacdugi fermentation was high in the subatomospheric pressure, but decreased at the last period of fermentation as same tendency to the control, and it was preferably increased at the last period of fermentation in the polyethylene film package. However, the acidity was higher in the control than sbuatomospheric pressure but it was low in the polyethylene film package. Vitamin C content was high in the control at beginning and middle period of fermentation but high in sbuatomospheric pressure, and was low in the polyethylene film package at the last period of fermentation. The number of Lactobacilli was more in the subatomospheric pressure and polyethylene film package than the control, but it was suddenly incressed for the total microbe in the polyethylene film package at last period of fermentation. The edible periods of kacdugi by the sensory assessment of sour flavor, hardness and complex flavor was second days in the control. third days in the polyethylene film package, and fifth days in the subatomospheric pressure after soaking.
Physicochemical properties of Kochujang(OK) added onion powder (OK ) were Investigated duringstorage at 20"C The pH value of Kochujang tended to decrease by condition of storage. Initial pH value of OK was significantly lower than that of control, but the difference of pH value was getting smaller during the storage period. In the Process of 90 days storage period, the pH value of OK containing 8 and 10% of onion powder was higher than control. Salt content was lower in OK than in control as the onion content was higher No changes in salt content were observed during the storage process. Reducing sugar was higher in OK than in control, and Its concentration was increased with onion content. Amino acid nitrogen content which was slightly higher in OK than in control increased during 45 days of storage period and tended to decrease afterward. In the sensory attribute data of Kochujang after 3 months of storage period, OK had higher scores in sweetness, color, flavor, and overall acceptability than control, especially the OK with 10% onion powder had the highest scores.scores.

Recently, the active interaction control (AIC) system was proposed as a semi-active control system. The AIC system consists of a primary structure and an auxiliary structure. The objective of the AIC system is to control the response of the primary structure through engagement and disengagement between the primary and auxiliary structures. Previous switching control algorithms have been shown to be effective in reducing the response of the primary structure. However, they have the main drawback of requiring an excessive engagement-disengagement frequency and high interaction force. In this paper, the regions in which the switching is activated and the regions in which the switching is deactivated are described separately, to effectively determine the engagement or the disengagement. The general relationship between the switching regions and the deactivated switching regions selected according to the engagement-disengagement conditions is described within the newly-developed comprehensive switching framework. The proposed engagement-disengagement conditions are designed within a comprehensive switching framework, to reduce engagement-disengagement frequency and interaction force. Furthermore, the effect of a control sampling period on the AIC system is explained in terms of the engagement-disengagement frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms and the effect of the control sampling period are considered for a single degree of freedom model under free vibration. It is observed that increasing the duration of stay by using a large control sampling period prevents the AIC system from activating the possible chance of switching. The proposed algorithms are shown to be effective, both in restricting ineffective switching and in reducing interaction force.
The present study was undertaken to examine the effect of butylhydroxyanisole (BHA) on the lead poisoning in Wister female rats. All experimental rats except normal group were fed with diets formulated by adding BHA in a range of 0.1% to 3.2% and aqueous solution of 1% lead acetate ad libitum through the experimental period. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1) Lead sedimentation in kidney tissue was decreased with increasing experimental period and BHA level of lead plus BHA-treated groups in comparison with that of lead-treated control group. 2) The weights of lung, spleen and left/right (L/R) kidney were significantly decreased in comparison with those of lead-treated control group after 2 weeks of experimental period, but no difference was shown with those of normal group. 3) The weights of lung, spleen and L/R kidney were increased in lead-treated control group as compared with normal group after 2 weeks of experimental period, but no difference was shown with increasing experimental period. 4) Water intake was remarkably decreased in lead-treated control group as compared with normal group, but water intake by increasing BHA level of lead plus BHA-treated groups showed no significant difference from that of normal group. 5) These results suggest that BHA is effective for reducing the toxic effect of lead in rats.
This study was carried out to investigate the changes in ovary in repeatedly superovulated rabbits. A total of 57 New Zealand White and Californian, 25 mature virgin and 32 immature does were used in this study. For induction of repeated superovulation, PMSG and HCG were injected at 17-day and 30-day intervals for mature does and 17-day intervals for immature ones. The repeatedly superovulated does at 17-day intervals were induced luteolysis of pseudopregnant corpus luteum with PGF2${\alpha}$ on Day 8 to 9 p.c. The effect of repeated superovulation on reproductive organs was investigated on Day 3 p.c. in mature does and on Day 3 and 6 p.c. in immature ones, respectively. 1. In mature virgin does, the number of ovulation points in the 2nd and 3rd superovulation period averaged 7.0 and 5.0 at 17-day intervals and 13.4 and 6.0 at 30-day intervals, respectively. These numbers were statistically similar to 9.5 ovulation points in the control. However, there were less (p<0.05) ovulation points in those periods compared with 22.1 ovulation points in the 1st superovulation period. 2. In immature does, the number of ovulation points in the 2nd and 3rd superovulation period averaged 5.3 and 2.3, respectively. These numbers were significantly (p<0.05) decreased than 17.1 ovulation points in the 1st periods. The number of ovulation points in the 2nd superovulation period was similar to that in the control, but there was a significant (p<0.05) decrease in the number of ovulation points in the 3rd period as compared to the control. 3. In mature virgin does, the number of visible normal and hemorrhagic follicles (>1.0mm diameter) on day 3 p.c. averaged 19.1 and 8.9 in the 1st superovulation period, respectively. In the 2nd 3rd superovulation period, the number of normal follicles averaged 8.3 and 15.5 at 17-day intervals and 17.8 and 14.5 at 30-day intervals. The number of hemorrhagic follicles in the 2nd and 3rd superovulation period averaged 6.3 and 2.0 at 17-day intervals and 5.2 and 7.8 at 30-day intervals, respectively. There was a slight decrease, although not significant, in the number of normal and hemorrhagic follicles in the 2nd and 3rd period at 17-day intervals compared to that in the 1st period. 4. In immature does, the number of visible normal follicles on day 3 and day 6 p.c. in the 1st superovulation period averaged 27:3 and 26.1, respectively. The follicles on day 3 p.c. tended to increase slightly more than that in the cortrol, but the average number of normal follicles on day 6 p.c. did not differ from that in the control. The number of visible hemorrhagic follicles on day 3 and day 6 p.c. in the 1st of follicles in the 1st superovulation period average 10.2 and 9.9, respectively. There was a slight increase in the number of follicles in the 1st period compared to that in the control. In the 2nd and 3rd superovulation period, the number of normal follicles revealed a slight decrease in the 3rd period, but the number of hemorrhagic follicles was not different between periods. 5. The number of growing follicles with incipient intral formation on day 3 p.c. in mature does of the 1st superovulaton period average 29.7 and the average number of growing follicles in the 3rd period was 26.7 at 17-day intervals and 31.0 at 30-day intervals, respectively. These numbers did not differ from that in the control. In immature does, the number of growing follicles averaged 57.7, 45.0 and 59.3 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd superovulation period, respectively. There was a slight but not significant decrease in the number of growing follicles in the 3rd period compared to that in the control.
This study was performed to know the effects of stress induced by the daily fluctuation of water temperture from 18$^{\circ}C$ to 25$^{\circ}C$ up and down for 30 days on the defence mechanism of olive flounder. Puralichthys olivaceus. To make clear the temperature stress on the defense mechanism of the tested fish. several factors of immune response such as counting of leucocyte appearance in peripheral blood, phagocytic activity in whole blood cells, nitroblue tetrazolium(NBT) reduction, chemiluminescence(CL) response, and lysozyme activity were investigated at 28 days after giving the change of water temperature. The fish was controlled under the none feeding condition during experimental period. Mortality of the tested fish was rapidly increased up to 22% within the first one week of the experimental period without any additional stress factors. The number of neutrophil of peripheral blood in the tested group was significantly higher than the control group at the 2nd week. but the number of lymphocyte was significantly lower than the control group at the 1st and 3rd day of the experimental period. respectively. In the NBT reduction test, the activity of macrophage in the control group fish was the highest on the 7th day while that in the tested group was on the 3rd day. Also. the phagocytosis of tested group against formalin killed cells was retarded compared with the control. CL response of the tested group was significantly lower from 2nd to 5lh day of the experimental period than the control. 'The lysozyme activity of tested group was remained higher during the experimental period than the control. Even though the tested fish showed different results in some non-specific factors of immune respceses between tested and control group fish, olive flounder seems highly adaptable in repealed water temperature change in condition after one week under the given temperature fluctuation range.

This paper present a modified repetitive control scheme for an optical storage system to track a periodic reference signal with dynamic change in period. Periodic disturbances can be adequately attenuated using the concept of repetitive control, provided the period is know. An optical storage system supports various speeds. To deal with time varying periodic disturbances, an proposed repetitive controller is turned based on repetitive control to change sampling frequency to follow the change of reference Period. A modified repetitive control scheme is proposed and implement on experimental set up of a optical disk driver.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to examine differences in weight control practices, beliefs, self-efficacy, and eating behaviors of weight class athletes according to weight control level. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were weight class athletes from colleges in Gyeong-gi Province. Subjects (n = 182) responded to a questionnaire assessing study variables by self-report, and data on 151 athletes were used for statistical analysis. Subjects were categorized into High vs. Normal Weight Loss (HWL, NWL) groups depending on weight control level. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANCOVA, x2-test, and multiple logistic regressions. RESULTS: Seventy-three percent of subjects were in the HWL group. The two groups showed significant differences in weight control practices such as frequency (P < 0.01), duration and magnitude of weight loss, methods, and satisfaction with weight control (P < 0.001). Multiple logistic regression showed that self-efficacy (OR: 0.846, 95% CI: 0.730, 0.980), eating behaviors during training period (OR: 1.285, 95% CI: 1.112, 1.485), and eating behaviors during the weight control period (OR: 0.731, 95% CI: 0.620, 0.863) were associated with weight control level. Compared to NWL athletes, HWL athletes agreed more strongly on the disadvantages of rapid weight loss (P < 0.05 - P < 0.01), perceived less confidence in controlling overeating after matches (P < 0.001), and making weight within their weight class (P < 0.05). HWL athletes showed more inappropriate eating behaviors than NWL athletes, especially during the weight control period (P < 0.05 - P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Self-efficacy was lower and eating behaviors during pre-competition period were more inadequate in HWL athletes. Education programs should include strategies to help athletes apply appropriate methods for weight control, increase self-efficacy, and adopt desirable eating behaviors.
