SMA 메쉬 와셔를 적용한 수동형 진동절연기의 미소진동 절연성능 검증 (Micro-vibration Isolation Performance Verification for the Passive Vibration Isolator using SMA Mesh Washer)

  • Fly-wheel, Gimbal antenna, CMG, Spaceborne cyrocooler generate micro-vibration during their on-orbit operation as well as implementing their own function. To comply with the mission requirement of high resolution observation satellite, additional technical efforts have been required to isolate the micro-vibration derived from such payloads by applying the vibration isolator. In this study, we proposed a passive isolator using SMA mesh washer, which guarantees the structural safety of both micro-vibration disturbance source and itself under harsh launch vibration loads without an additional holding mechanism and the micro-vibration isolation performance on orbit environment. To verify the micro-vibration isolation performance of the proposed vibration isolator, we performed the micro-vibration isolation measurement test using the dedicated micro-vibration measurement device proposed in this study.

Feasibility Study of Mobius3D for Patient-Specific Quality Assurance in the Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the dosimetric performance of Mobius3D by comparison with an aSi-based electronic portal imaging device (EPID) and Octavius 4D, which are conventionally used for patient-specific prescription dose verification. Methods: The study was conducted using nine patients who were treated by volumetric modulated arc therapy. To evaluate the feasibility of Mobius3D for prescription dose verification, we compared the QA results of Mobius3D to an aSi-based EPID and the Octavius 4D dose verification methods. The first was the comparison of the Mobius3D verification phantom dose, and the second was to gamma index analysis. Results: The percentage differences between the calculated point dose and measurements from a PTW31010 ion chamber were 1.6%±1.3%, 2.0%±0.8%, and 1.2%±1.2%, using collapsed cone convolution, an analytical anisotropic algorithm, and the AcurosXB algorithm respectively. The average difference was found to be 1.6%±0.3%. Additionally, in the case of using the PTW31014 ion chamber, the corresponding results were 2.0%±1.4%, 2.4%±2.1%, and 1.6%±2.5%, showing an average agreement within 2.0%±0.3%. Considering all the criteria, the Mobius3D result showed that the percentage dose difference from the EPID was within 0.46%±0.34% on average, and the percentage dose difference from Octavius 4D was within 3.14%±2.85% on average. Conclusions: We conclude that Mobius3D can be used interchangeably with phantom-based dosimetry systems, which are commonly used as patient-specific prescription dose verification tools, especially under the conditions of 3%/3 mm and 95% pass rate.

Pilot study for investigating behavior of recentering frame connection equipped with friction damper

  • This study introduces a novel friction damper as a component of a recentering frame connection, to solve the problem of structural repair costs, caused by stiffness deterioration and brittle fracture of the central brace frame (CBF). The proposed damper consists of shape memory alloy (SMA) bars with pretension applied to them to improve the stability. SMAs reduce the residual displacement by virtue of the properties of the materials themselves; in addition, a pretension can be applied to partially improve their energy dissipation capacity. The damper also consists of a friction device equipped with friction bolts for increased energy dissipation. Therefore, a study was conducted on the effects of the friction device as well as the pretension forces on the friction damper. For performance verification, 12 cases were studied and analyzed using ABAQUS program. In addition, the friction and pretension forces were used as variables in each case, and the results were compared. As a result, when the pretension and friction force are increased, the energy dissipation capacity gradually increases by up to about 94% and the recentering capacity decreases by up to about 55%. Therefore, it has been shown that SMA bars with adequate pretension in combination with bolts with adequate frictional force effectively reduce residual deformation and increase damper capacity. Thus, this study has successfully proposed a novel friction damper with excellent performance in terms of recentering and energy dissipation capacity.

컨테이너 보안장치(ConTracer)를 위한 효율적인 컨테이너 도어 개폐감지 메커니즘 (Efficient container door Open/Closed detection mechanism for Container Security Device(ConTracer))

  • 본 연구에서는 컨테이너화물 안전수송에 사용되는 컨테이너 보안장치(CSD: Container Security Device)의 주요 기능인 컨테이너 도어 개폐감지를 위해 "Reed Sensor를 이용한 효율적인 도어 개폐 메커니즘"을 소개하고 이를 구현하여 실제 성능을 검증하고자 한다. "Reed Sensor를 이용한 효율적인 컨테이너 도어 개폐 감지 메커니즘"은 컨테이너 제조사 마다 각기 다른 컨테이너 문에 부착되어 미국 국토안보부에서 제시한 컨테이너 보안장치의 컨테이너 도어 열림 판단 기준을 만족 시킬 수 있도록 설계 및 구현되었다. 뿐만 아니라 제한적으로 컨테이너 도어의 열림 간격까지 확인 할 수도 있다. 본 연구에서 소개한 컨테이너 도어 개폐감지 메커니즘을 ICC사업단에서 개발한 컨테이너 보안장치인 ConTracer에 구현하여 제조사가 각각 다른 30개의 컨테이너에 장착테스트를 통해서 미국 국토안보부에서 제시한 컨테이너 문의 열림 판단 기준을 만족하는지 검증하였다.

열차 진동 저감을 위한 마찰쐐기형 방진장치의 거동 시험 (A Behavior Test on a Frictional-Wedge-Type Vibration Isolation Device for Vibration Reduction of a Railway Track)

  • 도심지에 건설되는 철도역사, 선로구조물 등 철도시설물의 경우 소음 및 진동 저감 설계의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 특히 선하역사는 구조물 위에 선로가 놓이게 되므로 철도 진동과 이로 인한 2차 소음을 효과적으로 차단할 수 있는 진동 제어 대책이 더욱 필요한 상황이다. 수직형 방진장치는 열차 운행으로 인한 진동이 직접적으로 전달되는 선하역사 등 철도시설물의 진동 저감에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있으나, 수평형 장치에 비하여 개발이 미진한 상황이다. 이 논문에서는 열차에 의한 진동을 효과적으로 저감하기 위해 개발 중인 마찰쐐기형 방진장치를 소개하고, 동적성능 검증을 위한 시험 결과를 제시하였다. 개발된 방진장치의 성능 검증을 위하여 시제품을 적용한 콘크리트구조물에 대한 강제 가진시험을 수행하였으며, 시험결과를 통해 방진장치의 방진성능 및 동특성을 검증하고 방진장치 개선사항을 검토하였다.

  • In this paper, A design strategy of the Surface Mounting Device for accurate and better performance is studied. Analytical Modeling. Sensitivity analysis and optimization are being conducted. The ANSYS software and experimental method are used for verification of the analytical equations withboundary conditons. Through the sensitivity analysis, the most dominant design parameters can be detected. The optimum design parameters for performing given performing given perfomances are selected by using the optimization algorithm. The design tool based on the design strategy for the analysis, modeling and optimization will be useful for a re-design and better perofrmance of the SMD.

인공호흡기 중앙감시시스템 소프트웨어의 사용적합성 총괄평가 (Summative Usability Assessment of Software for Ventilator Central Monitoring System)

  • According to the COVID-19, development of various medical software based on IoT(Internet of Things) was accelerated. Especially, interest in a central software system that can remotely monitor and control ventilators is increasing to solve problems related to the continuous increase in severe COVID-19 patients. Since medical device software is closely related to human life, this study aims to develop central monitoring system that can remotely monitor and control multiple ventilators in compliance with medical device software development standards and to verify performance of system. In addition, to ensure the safety and reliability of this central monitoring system, this study also specifies risk management requirements that can identify hazardous situations and evaluate potential hazards and confirms the implementation of cybersecurity to protect against potential cyber threats, which can have serious consequences for patient safety. As a result, we obtained medical device software manufacturing certificates from MFDS(Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) through technical documents about performance verification, risk management and cybersecurity application.The purpose of this study is to conduct a usability assessment to ensure that ergonomic design has been applied so that the ventilator central monitoring system can improve user satisfaction, efficiency, and safety. The rapid spread of COVID-19, which began in 2019, caused significant damage global medical system. In this situation, the need for a system to monitor multiple patients with ventilators was highlighted as a solution for various problems. Since medical device software is closely related to human life, ensuring their safety and satisfaction is important before their actual deployment in the field. In this study, a total of 21 participants consisting of respiratory staffs conducted usability test according to the use scenarios in the simulated use environment. Nine use scenarios were conducted to derive an average task success rate and opinions on user interface were collected through five-point Likert scale satisfaction evaluation and questionnaire. Participants conducted a total of nine use scenario tasks with an average success rate of 93% and five-point Likert scale satisfaction survey showed a high satisfaction result of 4.7 points on average. Users evaluated that the device would be useful for effectively managing multiple patients with ventilators. However, improvements are required for interfaces associated with task that do not exceed the threshold for task success rate. In addition, even medical devices with sufficient safety and efficiency cannot guarantee absolute safety, so it is suggested to continuously evaluate user feedback even after introducing them to the actual site.

하천 측량용 헥사콥터의 단일로터에 대한 제자리 비행 성능 연구 (Study on the Hovering Flight Performance of a Single Rotor on a River Surveillance Hexacopter)

  • In this study, an experimental device was fabricated to evaluate the hovering flight performance of a single rotor on a hexacopter used for river surveillance, and a thrust performance test was conducted. In addition, the 3D profile of the propeller was extracted by 3D scanning and CFD analysis was performed using ANSYS CFD 14.5 based on the extracted 3D model of the propeller. The aerodynamic characteristics were compared with the results of the performance tests and CFD analysis, and the vortex structure corresponding to each motor rotational speed in revolutions per minute (rpm) was identified. In the future, we plan to provide valuable data for multicopter propeller design and performance verification.

  • 하나의 제품에 다양한 기능들이 복합적으로 통합하는 단일칩시스템 (System-on-a-Chip, SoC)의 설계 요구가 증가하는 반면, 시장이 요구하는 적기 출하 시점은 점점 짧아지고 있다. 따라서 이러한 요구를 만족시키기 위해서 소프트웨어와 하드웨어를 통합하여 검증하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 이러한 하드웨어-소프트웨어 통합 검증을 조기에 수행하는 방법으로 IP(intellectual property) 재사용을 통한 가상 플랫폼 기반 설계 방법이 널리 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 ARM프로세서 기반 S3C2440A 시스템을 가상 플랫폼을 이용하여 재설계하고, JPEG 디코더를 S3C2440A 가상 플랫폼에 구현하여 성능을 평가하였다. 또한, ARM 프로세서 기반 인라인 어셈블리어를 이용하여 JPEG 디코더를 최적화하는 기법을 소개하였고, 이를 가상 플랫폼에 구현하여 성능 향상을 검증하였다. 이러한 가상 플랫폼 기반 설계를 통해 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어의 통합 검증이 가능하고, 시장 적기 출하(Time-to-Market) 요구에 신속히 대처할 수 있다.
