  • This paper constructs a stochastic model for computer performance evaluation which has several parameters such as the kinds of instruction mix of benchmark programs, distribution and frequency of instruction mix. It shows, by applying the model to the performance evaluation of the Intel 8086/8088 microprocessor, that this model could be utilited not only for performance evaluation of existing computer systems but also for estimation of nonexisting systems.

The Effects of Perceived Facial Attractiveness and Appropriateness of Clothing on the Task Performance Evaluation mediated by Likability and the Trait Evaluation (지각된 얼굴 매력성과 의복 적절성이 호감도, 특질 판단을 매개하여 과제 수행능력 판단에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the perceived facial attractiveness and appropriateness of clothing on the evaluation of task performance of target person mediated by subjects'likability toward and trait evaluation of the target person. The facial attractiveness of the female university students were used as index of physical attractiveness in this study. Three levels of facial attractiveness was manipulated based on the judgements by 30 female university students. Four types of clothes were selected perceived appropriate for two assumed situations by female university students. Three female faces having high. medium, and low attractiveness were simulated with the same body dressed four types of clothing respectively using CAD system, and a total of 12 stimulus persons were created. The design for the experiment was a $3\tiems4\times2$ randomaized factorial. with three levels of facial attractiveness(high, medium, low), and four types attire(formal-masculine, formal-feminine, casual-masculine, casual-feminine), two kinds of context (job interview, dating) in which perceptions were occurred. The subjects of this study was 524 male and female(262 of male, 262 of female) university students from 3 universities in Kwangju, Korea. The data were analysed using factor analysis. descriptive statistics, regression, path analysis. The results were as follows : 1. In bogus job interview. the direct effect of perceived facial attractiveness on task performance evaluation was .175 and the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .285 in path analysis model. The direct effect of perceived appropriateness of clothing on task performance evaluation was .111 and the indirect effect mediated by likability only was .0564 in pass analysis model. 2. In dating situation, the direct effect of perceived facial attractiveness on task performance evaluation was .355, the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .188 in path analysis model. The direct effect of perceived appropriateness of clothing on task performance evaluation was .108, the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .060 in Pass analysis.

  • The maintenance management system of domestic public facilities is shifting from the concept of diagnosis and repair for maintaining safety of facilities to performance evaluation method that improves and maintains the performance of facilities. However, in Korea, the performance evaluation method for the maintenance of facilities has not been established, so the performance evaluation has not been properly performed. In this study, we propose an asset management model that introduces the concept of performance evaluation to complement the simple maintenance strategy focused on safety management of current facilities. This model differentiated from the existing model by proposing a method for using WBS as a method for collecting facility maintenance information. This model proposed the most important level of service evaluation method and performance measure factors in the performance evaluation of facilities, and conducted a case analysis to assess the appropriateness of this model.

  • This paper addresses a performance evaluation model for ERP system's implementation using Analytic Network Process (ANP) technique. In this study, the performance variables are identified as the perspectives of cost, business process, systems operation, and change management, respectively. The empirical study also investigated factors that affect the performance variables to find out the causal relationship between them using the ANP approach. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from manufacturing companies that have implemented ERP systems. The research findings indicate the proposed model is powerful in proposing that the indirect relationship between influencing factors and managerial effectiveness, mediated by employee satisfaction, is an important one.

  • We proposed a specialized model of performance measurement to measure the training performance of the trainees in cyber practical training. Cyber security professionals are cultivating their expertise, skills, and competencies through cyber practical training in specialized education and training institutions. The our proposed process of trainee evaluation is consisted of an evaluation component discovery, evaluation item selection, evaluation index catalog, ratings and criteria decision, and calculation formula. The trainee evaluation is consisted of a formative evaluation during the training and an overall evaluation after finished training. Formative evaluation includes progress evaluation and participation evaluation, and overall evaluation includes practice evaluation and learning evaluation. The evaluation is weighted according to the importance of evaluation type. Because it is evaluated actual skills and abilities, competencies are assigned a high weight, while knowledge and attitudes are assigned a low weight. If cyber security trainees are evaluated by the proposed evaluation model, cyber security professionals can be cultivated by each skill and knowledge level and can be deployed by importance of security task.

  • It is known that human factors account for 80 percent of all railway accidents. To reduce human errors must be the most efficient shortcut to railway safety. For public transportation employees like railway, the more delicate safety management should be executed in individual level. However, there are rarely efforts to improve safety performance of workers who are the subject operating the railway system. This paper develops a hierarchy model to evaluate the human safety performance in railway industry. To evaluate the model, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) methodology is adopted. The hierarchy model is composed of four levels which are objective, two criteria, specific factors of criteria, and rating scales. In addition, since employees for evaluation are over 10, the pairwise comparisons for rating scales are carried out by the absolute measurement. We explore the applicability of AHP to the performance evaluation of railway safety workers by an example and also investigate the changes of alternatives that are railway employees according to the changes of human characteristic which is one of criteria.

  • Demand of good seakeeping perfomace is increasing for sea going vessels such as cruisers, naval ships and container ships. Especillay roll motion is one of major concerns in evaluation of seakeeping performance due to its large resonace motion. Since large roll resonance motion is mainly arised from inherent small damping. use of additional mechnism to provide roll damping can significantly reduce roll motion. In this paper, a reliable performace evaluation method of fin stabilizer, which is very useful for stabilizing roll motion of mid and high speed vessls, is described. Model test and time domain simulation methods are adopted for performance evaluation in which real operating situation of fin stabilizer can be exactly modelled. Model test and simulation results show good correlations between model test and simulation results.

  • Based on the characteristics of 'Korean electric power industry R&D programs', this study proposes a new performance evaluation framework where electric power industry related R&D projects are scrutinized. The abovementioned R&D programs have their own goals and especially they emphasize the effectiveness as well as the efficiency of each subordinate R&D project. Hence, in this framework, a performance evaluation procedure is established and then a mathematical model is developed according to the procedure. The model calculates performance evaluation indices for a set of R&D projects integrating the effectiveness with the efficiency of each R&D project. In a case study with an empirical dataset, statistical significance is tested on the integrated performance evaluation indices of R&D projects regarding organizational types and program categories considered.

  • Despite the importance of information technology, research on information-oriented performance management and performance management methods are very insufficient. In this paper, the SSU-ITPM model, a company-wide informatization performance evaluation and management model that reflects the characteristics of the shipbuilding and marine industry with high cooperative and process complexity, was presented. This model consisted of informatization planning and project management, informatization field utilization evaluation, informatization utilization quality evaluation, informatization user satisfaction evaluation, and informatization effect achievement evaluation. In addition, through the application of Company D, the feasibility of practical application of the model was confirmed. This study is expected to provide a practical reference model for informatization performance management of ETO plant-based companies such as the shipbuilding and offshore sector.

  • The resilience performance evaluation method of a structure can evaluate the ability to recover after an earthquake disaster, and this study deals with the consideration and introduction of the resilience performance evaluation method. The resilience evaluation method can be expressed as a quantified number by constructing a loss estimation model and a recovery evaluation model. The recovery evaluation model should consider downtime in addition to the repair time, and the loss estimation model should consider not only direct loss to structures and non-structures, but also indirect loss due to functional loss of the building. In addition, to build a loss estimation model, the structure should be simplified to perform an efficient analysis. Therefore, in this study, the equivalent terminal induction system proposed cantilever-type and rahmen-type SDOF, and it is evaluated somewhat conservatively compared to the example structure, and it is judged that there is a need to improve the hysteresis characteristics by applying the stiffness reduction factor of the SDOF model.
