  • As the importance of building maintenance is being emphasized, studies regarding the efficient building maintenance focus on the evaluation of the maintenance plan, implementation and its cost only while the evaluation of the maintenance performance is nearly ignored. At this point when the importance is placed on the performance design we need to have methods to improve maintenance performance of the buildings in Design Phase. The purpose of this study was to set the design evaluation items to improve the maintenance performance of the buildings. Through the review of the existing literature, we set the concept of the maintenance performance and suggested evaluation items to evaluate the maintenance performance through the analysis of domestic and overseas certification and design guidelines.

  • Since the study of building performance design was first undertaken by Building Research Station in 1930s, the results of such study has been reported from many parts of the world, building construction codes and standards have been revised based on performance in advanced nations as well in Korea, and various performance certification systems are in operation. The purpose of this study is to build a database of performance certification systems to investigate the co-relationship of various test methods related to the same test items. As test methods for case study, we selected test methods involving collision of the human body. Through analysis of Critical fall height test of EN 1177 and Head Model test of JIS A 6519 about 8 species of floor test-bodies, it was found that there are limits of application in terms of the depth and strength of cushion. Furthermore, although the measured physical parameters are the same, when the co-relationship between test methods is uncertain, the various physical parameters may not be compatible with the results.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate food sanitation status in elderly welfare facilities and assess the performance of food sanitation practices. Twenty elderly welfare facilities out of 85 located in Seoul with a capacity of fewer than 50 persons participated. The food sanitation status of worktable, kitchen utensils (knives, cutting boards, ladles, spoons), and tableware and bowls were examined by ATP bioluminescence. The results found that the ATP value of knife was the highest. Those of ladles appeared relatively higher than others. Meanwhile, the tableware and bowls, although washed everyday after meals, had the lowest ATP value. This study also conducted a survey on the food sanitation practices of 32 cooking employees in the 20 facilities. Fifty-six percent were in their 40s, and 53% had graduated from high school. More than half (66%) of them had no certification of cooking. Half of the respondents had worked for at least 5 years in food service facilities, and had received food sanitation training. Among them, 31% said they applied food sanitation training while working, and 47% responded the training was very helpful. The foodservice employees demonstrated good food sanitation practices. The results show that food sanitation performance of the workers significantly differed according to their age, education level, total work experience in food service facilities, chef certification, and prior food sanitation experience.

  • This paper is concerned with the Performance and Reliability Certification for fire detection system in outdoor area such small and middle sized cultural assets, natural monument and outdoor facilities. Especially, if a fire were to occur in vulnerable area, it is difficulty to detect a fire. therefore we propose a high efficiency and low cost unmanned fire detection system in capable of an early detection regardless spontaneously fire or firebug. for Adoption of Intelligent Fire Detection System with movable and unmanned function breaking from the existing Conventional Fire Detection System, this Range of R&D includes the Performance test, Function test, Field test, Flame Detection test and EMI/EMS Compliance test. the Result data of Performance test, Function test and Field test is generally good during 3 months. also we checked that thermal variation test and EMI/EMS compliance test are good result data within allowable range. As a result of general test, we verified improvement results that the measure distance of fire detection extend 75 m, the Power of waiting time increase 4 hours, the Power of operation time increase 3 days and the context awareness with video as well as sensors.

  • Since the introduction of AEO certification in South Korea in 2008, 516 areas have been AEO certified based on a report dated December 31st, 2013. The number is expected to increase drastically as more and more companies strive to obtain the AEO certification. In this regards, this study is designed to contribute to the further invigoration of the AEO certification system as well as to propose directions to improve companies' performance in a practical point of view. To do so, the writer reviewed the past studies done in the relevant subjects in order to 1) grasp the principal subject, 2) catch the areas with insufficient information/lacking points, and to 3) get a focus on future directions on how additional research should be conducted. An analysis of the past studies proved that prior to the introduction of the AEO certification, the focus of the studies were to present the reasons as to why AEO should be introduced, the benefits of AEO, and a comparative analysis of countries already in wide usage of the AEO system. Studies done after the introduction of AEO (that is, after 2008) focused mainly on invigorating the system into the market. Compared to the previous studies, this study will present a distinct conclusion by breaking down the major points of each study on a year-by-year basis and studying them in total in order to provide an even more practical direction in the future of AEO in South Korea.

  • In various industrial places such as power generation plants, petrochemical and unit factories, the demands of systems that produce hot water by utilizing wasted or surplus steam have been increased. Compact steam unit(CSU) is a system that can meet these demands and produce hot water by using surplus or wasted steam, and it is also one of the good solutions in view of energy reuse. The new CSU with a capacity of 1,600 kW was developed with a hybrid plate heat exchanger of which thermal performances are better than a conventional plate heat exchanger, an improved temperature control valve, a user-friendly control system, and other components in this study. The purpose of this study was to obtain performance data of the new CSU through various experiments and utilize them for the CSU commercialization. The experimental results show that heat balances between the hot side(steam) and the cold side(cold water) were within ${\pm}0.77%$, and the fluctuations of outlet temperature of the secondary side which are one of the most important evaluation factors in the CSU were $(0{\sim}0.3)^{\circ}C$.

  • This study is to develop a performance analysis model for SMEs.Based on similar performance indicators through previous studies, performance indicators for SMEs were rewritten.Through the Korean Journal Citation Index (KCI), 75 related data were classified and a comprehensive SME performance analysis model was developed.Performance analysis was divided into two axes and classified into tables. The horizontal axis is the spatial performance range, which is divided into three areas: performance management by department/function, integrated performance management for the entire organization, and governance performance management requiring policy feedback. The vertical axis is subdivided into short-term, mid-term, and long-term by time and growth stage, and is divided into three parts: technical performance according to technological input, economic performance as organizational performance, and social performance for policy utilization. Then, performance indicators were mapped to each column. As a result of the survey, 28% of technical performance was analyzed as a result of frequency analysis, and performance indicators were organized into five categories: IT, R&D, certification, patent, and innovation. Economic performance was divided into 29%, BSC, HRD, logistics, production quality management, financial support, asset management, etc. 6 categories, social performance 43%, ESG, marketing, export, policy support, consulting, cooperation, etc. 7 categories.Limitations of the study include the narrowness of the survey that derived only performance indicators despite being a meta-analysis, and the performance model was mapped and classified according to growth stage and support period.however Insufficiency of validity due to lack of evidence, performance indicators were developed, but there were limitations in utilization for practical use.

  • This paper analyses how technological capabilities and entrepreneurship of technology-based start-ups affect their performance. In this paper, a multiple regression analysis was conducted on 248 technology-based start-ups. The effects of indicators of technological capacity like R&D intensity, R&D organization, technology competitiveness, patents, and certification were analyzed. Factors affecting sales were R&D intensity and technological competitiveness. Technology competitiveness and patents were the significant factors influencing product competitiveness. The factor that positively influenced organizational performance, customer performance, and achievement of start-up goals was technological competitiveness. The results of such an analysis should be designed to discover and foster long-term innovation potential, rather than relying on short-term financial performance.
