Influencing Family on an Economic Decision-Making for the Elderlyhood Preparation -Focused on Willingness to Consider Applying for Reverse Mortgage of the Older Living in Metropolitan Areas- (노후준비를 위한 경제적 의사결정에 가족이 미치는 영향 - 수도권 고령자의 주택연금제도 이용의향을 중심으로 -)

  • The primary focus of this study was on the issues associated with family and economic decision-making, in particular for the elderlyhood which might have to (or could be) share the family resources. This study regarded willingness to consider applying for Reverse Mortgage as an economic decision-making. The data was collected by interviewing 320 persons (over age 55) living in metropolitan areas in 2008. We selected 227 cases to find the influence of family, having both spouse and adult-children. We have used a theory of Planned Behavior by Fishbein to analysis three research questions. The results are as follows : first, the results partially explain willingness to consider applying for reverse mortgage using Fishbein's theory. Second, several results indicated that economic decision-makings within the family are influenced by several factors relating to other family member's view. They means that some of Subjective Norm variables, of Attitude Behavior ones, and of Perceived Behavior Control ones. Third, the result shows men and women respond differently to consider to applying for that policy. Men are conscious of the other people, i.e., friends, relatives except close family members, and, on the other hand, women are mindful of close family members, i.e., adult children. Forth, the group who have lower income showed higher intentions to consider that policy, when they have adult-children. Fifth, according to age group, pre-elderly group are influenced by consent of adult-children, a level of education, and on the other hand, elderly group are influenced by the other people, i.e., friends, relatives, a level of education, and so on. These results meaned that these distinct characteristics should be considered to establish Income Security policy for the pre-elderly and the elderly.

The Effect of Resilience and Retirement Attitudes Perceived by Middle-aged Married Men on a Meaningful Life (기혼중년남성이 지각한 회복탄력성 및 은퇴태도가 의미있는 삶에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of resilience and retirement attitudes perceived by middle-aged married men on a meaningful life, and provide basic data based on empirical research for reexamining meaningful lives of middle-aged married men. For the study, a survey was conducted with middle-aged men aged between 40 and 60 who were married with children and employed and live in Seoul or Gyeonggido. A total of 476 copies of data were analyzed. For the analysis, SPSS 20.0 was used to perform frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA, and the Duncan multiple range test and multiple regression analysis were performed. The result was as follows: First, Levels of resilience, retirement attitudes and meaningful life were moderate. Second, middle-aged married men had significant differences according to education, job, religion, Monthly family income, Wife's employment, marital status and Subjective health condition on meaningful life. third, middle-aged married men had an impact on resilience and retirement attitude on a meaningful life. In particular, the Affirmation of the resilience of the sub-region and the Transition to Old Age part of the retirement attitudes were significantly affected. Therefore, it is necessary to consider enough family support and social support for middle aged men.

A Study on the Introduction of Mobile Fashion Shopping Mall -Focusing on the Characteristics of Brands- (새로운 유통으로의 모바일 패션 쇼핑몰 도입에 관한 연구 -브랜드 특성(복종, 가격, 타겟, 매출액)을 중심으로-)

  • This study presented the characteristics of a mobile fashion shopping mall as perceived by those in charge of fashion brands, clarified the effect of the characteristics on the intention 'Of introduction, and indicated the differences in the intention of introduction according to the characteristics of brands. This study surveyed individuals in charge of fashion & clothing brands. It utilized SPSS 12.0 program for data analysis and performed frequency analysis, validity analysis, reliability analysis, multi regression analysis, ANOVA, and hierarchical adjustment regression analysis. A summary of the results of this study are as follows: First, the results of the factor analysis are shown to clarify the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping mall; four factors such as facility/usefulness, instant accessibility, personalization, and playfulness were also represented. Second, it showed that facility/usefulness, instant accessibility and personalization generate a positive influence on the intention of introduction. Of the factors, facility/usefulness displayed the highest influence. Third, regarding the effect of the characteristics of a mobile fashion shopping mall on the intention of introduction according to the characteristics of brands (in the case of women's wear) the intention of introduction is strong as instant accessibility and facility/usefulness is highly recognized. Lastly, there is a difference in the intention of introduction according to the characteristics of brands. According to items, casual wear shows the highest intention of introduction as followed by women's wear and sportswear. According to age, brands targeting a 24-29 year old group show a higher intention. Companies with average sales of 50 billion won to 750 billion won (or more) for three years showed a high intention. In addition, the possibility of introduction as a new distribution line was investigated.

Obesity and Weight Control Prevalence of Middle School Students in Seoul, Gyeonggi Area (서울, 경기지역에서 남녀 중학생의 비만도 및 체중조절 실태)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the obesity and weight control prevalence according to the gender and weight control attempt among middle school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The mean age of subjects were 14.4 years old. The mean height, weight and BMI value of boy students were 164.0 cm, 53.0 kg, and $19.7kg/m^2$, respectively, and the mean height, weight and BMI value of girl students were 159.4 cm, 49.8kg, and $19.6kg/m^2$, respectively. Both weight and BMI value of the weight loss attempt groups were significantly heavier and higher than those of the other groups (p < 0.01). In the perception on the body image, the girls perceived themselves to be more fat compared to boys, and the weight loss attempt group perceived their body image to be more fat compared to the other groups (p < 0.001). As for the interest degree of weight control, the interest degree of girls was higher than that of boys (p < 0.01). According to weight control attempt, in the order of the weight loss attempt group, the weight gain attempt group and the no weight control attempt group, the interest degree was significantly higher (p < 0.001). In the frequency and hours of exercise, there was significant difference by gender (p < 0.001). According to weight control attempt, the weight gain attempt group exercised more frequently than the other attempt groups (p < 0.01).

Factors Affecting the Need for and Utilization of Medical Care In Urban Areas (도시지역 의료요구와 의료이용에 미친 제요인 분석)

  • Financial barrier is well known as a determinant of the perceived need for and utilization of medical care in urban areas. This study aims to; a) estimate the levels of the perceived need for and utilization of medical care, b) analyze the reasons for not receiving medical care, and c) determine factors affecting the levels of need and utilization, and major reasons for not receiving medical care. The data of household interview survey in urban areas collected for a National Survey on Reorganization of Nationwide Health Care Delivery Network is used. An interview was conducted with a total of 2, 538 households in urban areas during a 28 day period of October through November, 1981, giving an overall response rate of 99 percent. The results show a factor of third-party payer is most influential to utilization (physician visits by patient), and living standard is a determinant to explain the variance of major reasons for not receiving medical care. Therefore, financial burden is still a major determent in utilization of medical care in urban areas. Improved level of living standard and expanded coverage of the third-party payer such as health insurance and public medical assistance will increase both an overall levels of utilization of and the need for medical care in urban areas in the future. The major statistics are as follows; a) rate of the need for medical care during a 15 day period per 100 persons was 33 percent: the differential rates appeared in sex, age, living standard, and third- party payer variables, b) percent of treatment employed per 100 persons who are wanting medical care was 82: the percents were high in young ages, high levels of living standard and education, and persons covered by third-party payer, and c) economic reasons for not receiving medical care per 100 persons who are wanting medical care were occupied with 60 percent: the rates are high in old ages, low levels of living standard and persons not covered by third-party payer.

An Analysis of the Effects of Luxury Brand Consumers on the Re-purchase Intentions, Behavioral and Risk Perception (명품브랜드 소비자의 재 구매의도에 미치는 영향 분석 -온라인 해외직업구매 이용동기, 행동의도, 위험지각을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to define the purchase behavior of online luxury fashion brand consumers that soon became new luxury consumption trends. To investigate online luxury fashion brand consumer's purchase behavior, three variables were suggested based on advanced researches. These variables include economic value, item variety and pleasure. Purchasing luxury online was not common but as cross-border online shopping market became popular, consumers began to purchase luxury items through online shopping platforms. Preliminary surveys was conducted on 20~40-year-old consumers who have experience in online shopping for luxurious items. Total 238 questionnaires were used for analysis. By using SPSS, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, t-test and ANOVA were conducted. The results of the study were as follow; first, consumer's purchase behavior appeared to be influenced by the order of pleasure of shopping, economic value and item variety. Repurchase intention appeared to be affected by the order of economic value, item variety, and pleasure of shopping. Second, online luxury fashion consumers perceived that risk does not affect purchase intention and repurchase intention. Third, as purchase intention increases, repurchase intention also increases. Fourth, shopping value, age and channel risk also indicated meaningful differences. As an early study of luxury fashion brand products purchased directly online, the academic significance can facilitate an overall understanding of consumer behavior such as usage motive, risk perception, behavioral intention.

The Study on the User Behavioral Effects of Perception and Characteristics on the Common Essential Applications of Smartphones (스마트폰 공통 필수앱에 대한 이용자 인식과 특성이 이용 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted by the customer survey of 15 to 65 years old in order to identify the user behavioral effects of perception and characteristics on the common essential applications of smartphones with the United Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Value-based Acceptance Model (VAM). As a result, it was found that performance expectancy, enjoyment, facilitating conditions, effort expectancy, and social influences, excluding information privacy concern, have a positive effect on use behavior. The moderating effect by age was found that the youth was higher between perceived value and behavioral intention, and the middle-aged was higher between enjoyment and perceived value. This study has significance in providing implications for establishing strategies on designing and pre-loading apps, and increasing usage rate.

  • This study examines that how can we pursuit the happiness through sport activities. For achieves this purpose, focusing specifically on what is happiness, physical happiness process and psychological happiness process. Therefore, this study was started that sport have an influence of individual's physical and psychological health. The conclusions of this study are like that: Individual's participation in sport is very important. Sport experience requires understanding of inherent meaning attached to sport and ongoing efforts to acquire wisdom to capitalize on sport in an appropriate manner. Sport experience should be deemed as a means of serious activities and pursuit of happiness. In sport participants, someone's age is not meaningful. As getting old, a sport participate rates and happiness are increasing. Especially, In aging society, This facts are very meaningful. Therefore Sport participation is closely related to the perceived quality of life and happiness. It can be further suggested that physically active sport-leisure participation rather than passive or sedentary leisure involvement increases perceived quality of life and happiness. Happiness is life itself.

The Relationship between Perceived Stress and the Ways of Coping in the Elderly (노인의 지각된 스트레스와 대처방법과의 관계)

  • The elderly can experience a lot of stressful events and the stress acts as a various fluent that affects a well-being level, the self-contentment of lives, and the achievements by themselves. Also, the elderly are different from the young in many unexpressed stress and have diverse copings for perceived stress. Moreover, they mainly seem to use a problem-focused coping and an emotion-focused coping. To use whatever copings is to improve the quality of life in the old period and very important fact to achieve their ends. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Perceived Stress and the Ways of Coping in the Elderly and to gain the baseline data for development of nursing intervention program for improve to the quality of life in the elderly. The design of this study was a correlational study. The subjects of this study consisted of 230 of the elderly living in Pusan. The data was collected from 1st July. to 1st September, 2002. The instruments used for this study were 'Perceived Stress Scale(20items, 5point. scale)' developed by Kang In(1990) and translated by Lee young-ja(1999), and its reliability is Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.89$. 'Coping Scale(30items, 4point. scale, 14 items about a problem-focused coping, 16 items about an emotion-focused coping, 4 points scale) developed by Lazarus & Folkman(1984) and translated by Yang Young-hee(1998). The reliability of this study is Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.90$. The data was analyzed by the SPSS WIN 10.0 program using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA & Scheffe test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as follows; 1. The mean score of perceived stress was $31.75{\pm}10.23$(Min 20, Max 100), which the item mean score was $1.59{\pm}.51$(Min 1, Max 5). 2. The number of subjects in a problem-focused coping was 72(31.3%), the number of subjects in an emotion-focused coping was 158(68.7%) 3. There were statistically significant positive correlation between perceived stress and problem-focused coping method and the more emotion-focoused coping method.(r=.180, r= .209, P< .05). It means the more stress, the more problem-focused coping method and the more emotion-focused coping method. 4. There was significant difference the score of perceived stress according to sex (F=-5.057, P=.000)marital status, (F=-2.909, P=.004), economic level, (F=10.243, P=.000), paticipated meeting, (F=9.346, P=.000), perceived health status(F=5.117, P=.007). 5. There was significant difference the score of problem-focused coping method according to age(F=14.200, P=.000), marital status (F=2.432, P=.0160), economic level (F=14.410, P=.000), monthly income, (F=8.300. P=.000), income resource (F=10.235, P=.000), educational level (F=15.222, P=.000), occupation (F=1.544, P=.041), paticipated meeting (F=4.936, P=.008), perceived health status(F=5.655, P=.004). And there was significant difference the score of emotion-focused coping method according to monthly income(F=4.781, P=.009), income resource(F=2.930, P=.035), educational level(F=6.101, P=.003), religionF=2.698, P=.032), paticipated meetings(F=7.285, P=.001). As a result of the study, the elderly had a bit less stress and the two-thirds of the elderly used the emotion-focused coping. Thus, the more perceived stress, the more problem-focused coping method and the more emotion-focused coping method. Accordingly, to improve the quality of life of the elderly, there needs and applies a nursing intervention program that relieves the stress and use effective coping method.

Effect of Nurses' Perception of Reward and Organizational Commitment on Their Turnover Intention (간호사의 보상에 대한 인식과 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to measure nurses' perception of reward, organizational commitment, turnover intention, and to examine the effect of the first two variables on turnover intention. Methods: This study was cross-sectional survey. Data were collected from 400 nurses working at 8 general hospitals in 6 cities from May 28 to July 18, 2008. Result: Nurses perceived that reward was 'important', and organizational commitment and turnover intention were 'middle'. Being under 30 years old the unmarried staff nurses' organizational commitment was significantly low in statistics and their turnover intention was high. The only financial reward had a positive relationship with turnover intention, and organizational commitment had a negative relationship. The influence variables on turnover intention were affective commitment, period of expected work, financial reward, age, normative commitment, and the explanation power of them was 57.2%. Conclusion: It is concluded that the manager working at a small-middle sized general hospitals in Korean provinces should develop and apply the strategies that can improve nurses' organizational commitment. And they also have to make their organizational reward system keep appropriately.
