A descriptive design was used to study 158 nursing students in nursing school through convenience sampling. IBM SPSS ver. 23.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) was used to analyze data for descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, Tukey post hoc test, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions. The results showed that the level of nursing students' happiness was lower than that of college students in other majors, but academic resilience and interpersonal competence among nursing students were relatively high. Nursing students' happiness was positively correlated with academic resilience and interpersonal competence. The factors affecting happiness were academic resilience (${\beta}=0.459$, p<0.001), satisfaction with major (${\beta}=0.272$, p=0.006), perceived subjective health status (${\beta}=0.223$, p=0.013), and interpersonal competence (${\beta}=0.185$, p=0.003). Explained variance for happiness was 56.4%, and academic resilience was the most influential factor in the happiness of nursing students. Nursing students are caring human beings and should be able to pursue a happy life; therefore, it is necessary to improve satisfaction levels with the nursing major, guide students to excel in their academic achievement, prepare health education programs, and design curriculum that inspires confidence in interpersonal relationships.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationships between the perceived and actual achievement on skill performance assessment and identify the relation to learning motivation factors. Methods: A total of 80 senior nursing students currently studying at a university participated in the study in 2015. Students completed a performance examination of 20 nursing skills at the end of their 7-week training period; their performance was rated using checklists. Students then completed a survey, which included questions about learning motivation and perceived achievement level. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: There was a weak correlation between perceived and actual achievement. Intrinsic and extrinsic goal-orientation and self-efficacy in learning motivation factors was significantly correlated to perceived achievement. Perceived achievement and self-efficacy in middle quartile of actual achievement were higher than other upper- or lower-quartile group. Conclusion: The findings suggest that the motivation factors of learners should be taken into account to maximize academic achievement in nursing skills training. In addition, it should be considered a strategy to reduce the gap between perceived and actual achievement.

  • The purpose of this study is to research how a teaching personality and ethics in teaching affect the competence of students majoring in early childhood education. Questionnaires were distributed to 211 early childhood education students residing in I-city. For this study, frequency analysis, averages, and standard deviation were calculated by using SPSS 22.0, with Cronbach's alpha for the reliability test. To determine the relevance of each variable, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were done, with results as follows. First, the teaching personalities perceived most by the students were morality and educational principles. Ethics for infants and ethics for households were most perceived in the ethics of teaching; for competency, understanding of the curriculum, understanding infant protection, and learning support were perceived the most. Second, there is a statistically significant correlation among a teacher's personality, ethics, and competence. Third, the sub-factors of both personality and ethics have a positive effect on competence. The above results indicate that there should be multilateral research into students majoring in early childhood education to ensure they have correct and positive competency so they can provide high-quality early childhood education services, recognizing the importance of competence.

  • Internet shopping websites have offered comfort to consumers in shopping and built trust relationships with them by providing electronic agents for recommendation, escrow services, and customer centers etc. But as there is little big difference among the shopping websites in terms of technical competence, website design, operational policy, they recognize online feedback (reviews or recommendation of consumers or experts) and online feedback mechanism as important marketing tools. Based on online feedback related studies, this study explores antecedents (consensus, vividness of reviews, interactions in review boards) of the perceived effectiveness of review boards which are text-based feedback mechanisms and its consequences such as trust, satisfaction, and intention to use. The results show that the perceived effectiveness of review boards is significantly affected by vividness of reviews and interactions in review boards, and the impact of interaction in review boards on the perceived effectiveness of review boards is stronger than that of vividness of reviews. The results also show that the perceived effectiveness of review boards has a significant influence on trust and satisfaction with the shopping websites, and intention to use is influenced by both trust and satisfaction.
