A Composite of Metal and Polymer Films: Thin Nickel Film Coated on a Polypropylene Film after Atmospheric Plasma Induced Surface Modification

  • Polymeric films of high chemical stability and mechanical strength covered with a thin metallic film have been extensively used in various fields as electric and electronic materials. In this study, we have chosen polypropylene (PP) as the polymer due to its outstanding chemical resistance and good creep resistance. We coated thin nickel film on PP films by the electroless plating process. The surfaces of PP films were pre-treated and modified to increase the adhesion strength of metal layer on PP films, prior to the plating process, by an environment-friendly process with atmospheric plasma generated using dielectric barrier discharges in air. The surface morphologies of the PP films were observed before and after the surface modification process using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The static contact angles were measured with deionized water droplets. The cross-sectional images of the PP films coated with thin metal film were taken with SEM to see the combined state between metallic and PP films. The adhesion strength of the metallic thin films on the PP films was confirmed by the thermal shock test and the cross-cutting and peel test. In conclusion, we made a composite material of metallic and polymeric films of high adhesion strength.

저궤도 위성용 S대역 수신기의 개발 (Development of the S-band receiver for LEO satellite)

  • 저궤도 위성용 S대역 수신기 EM 모델을 개발 하였다. 복조기는 복조 방식의 확장성을 고려하여 복조 기능을 FPGA를 사용하여 구현하였으며 제작된 수신기는 RF 단과 디지털 복조기 그리고 전원부로 구성되고 운용상 발생되는 주파수 편이 보상을 위한 도플러 추적 기능을 가진다. 측정결과 수신기의 BER은 -110dBm의 RF입력전력에서 $1.0{\times}10^{-6}$로 측정 되었으며, 중심 주파수를 기준으로 ${\pm}100KHz$의 주파수 추적기능을 가진다. 요구된 환경 온도 테스트를 완료하였으며, TID 테스트 결과 기준치인 10Krad를 만족한다.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the insulation characteristics of the polylon hybrid fiber inserted high-strength RC beam and slab produced as a single body and the results of this study can be summarized as follows. In the spalling mechanism as an insulation characteristic, the slab of the single body type specimen shows an exposure in concrete covers at the center of slab and that leads to the spalling, which exposures reinforcing bars. In the case of the beam, the spalling was presented at several sections as a type of peel spalling before and after 10 minutes from the insulation test. Whereas, although the internal temperature history of concrete represents the highest range as 581℃ in the case of the center of the bottom of beam base, it can be considered that it satisfies the regulation of insulation certification.

거칠기에 따른 반도전-절연 계면층에서 접착특성과 절연성능 (Adhesion and Electrical Performance by Roughness on Semiconductive-Insulation Interface Layer of Silicone Rubber)

  • In this paper, the effect of adhesion properties of semiconductive-insulating interface layer of silicone rubber on electrical properties was investigated. Surface structure and adhesion of semiconductive silicon rubber by surface asperity was obtained from SEM and T-peel test. In addition, ac breakdown test was carried out for elucidating the change of electrical property by roughness treatment. From the results, Adhesive strength of semiconductive-insulation interface was increased with surface asperity. Dielectric breakdown strength by surface asperity decreased than initial Specimen, but increased from Sand Paper #1200. According to the adhesional strength data unevenness and void formed on the silicone rubber interface expand the surface area and result in improvement of adhesion. Before treatment Sand Paper #1200, dielectric breakdown strength was decreased by unevenness and void which are causing to have electric field mitigation small. After the treatment, the effect of adhesion increased dielectric breakdown strength. It is found that ac dielectric breakdown strength was increased with improving the adhesion between the semiconductive and insulating interface.

  • 본 연구에서는 스티어혁으로 남성용 구두를 제조하였다. 남성 정장용 구두는 KS G 3116의 시멘트 식 제조방법을 적용하였고. 클로로프렌 접착제로 제조하여 평가하였다. 클로로프렌 접착제를 사용하여 제조한 옥스퍼드형 구두에 대한 접착제의 품질실험으로는 내구성 및 내후성 실험을 하였다. 또한, 여성 정장용 구두뿐만 아니라 남성 정장용 구두제조에 사용한 클로로프렌 접착제의 품질실험 결과는 기대 이상이었다. 접착강도 측정에 있어서 구두 앞 코 끝의 박리강도를 측정하는 KS G 3116의 측정방법은 본 연구에서 적용한 구두 앞코에서 굽자리까지의 전체 박리강도를 측정한 경우와 비교시 매우 일치하였다.

  • 복합전극의 결착특성은 리튬이차전지의 장기신뢰성 확보와 고에너지밀도 구현을 위한 중요한 물성임에도 불구하고, 측정 기술의 한계로 관련 연구가 제한적이었다. 하지만, $1{\sim}1000{\mu}m$ 두께의 코팅층을 절삭 및 박리하면서 결착특성을 측정할 수 있는 SAICAS(Surface And Interfacial Cutting Analysis System)란 장비의 출현으로 전극 결착특성 연구가 활발해지고 있다. 따라서, 본 총설에서는 SAICAS를 이용한 복합전극의 결착특성 분석 원리 및 측정 방법뿐만 아니라, Peel Test와 같은 기존 결착특성 분석 방법과 비교함으로써 SAICAS를 이용한 분석 방법의 신뢰성 검증 결과를 제시한다. 또한, 전극 설계의 최적화, 신규 바인더 도출 연구, 복합전극 내 바인더 분포 등의 연구에서 SAICAS가 적용된 사례를 소개한다. 이를 통해 SAICAS를 이용한 분석 방법이 리튬이차전지용 복합전극의 결착특성 분석에 용이하게 적용될 수 있음을 제안한다.

Flexible PCB용 무전해 도금 Ni 박막/Polyimide 계면파괴에너지 평가 (Interfacial fracture Energy between Electroless Plated Ni film and Polyimide for Flexible PCB Applications)

  • 폴리이미드 표면에 대한 습식 개질 전처리 조건에 따른 폴리이미드와 무전해 도금 Ni 박막사이의 계면파괴에너지를 $180^{\circ}$ 필 테스트를 통해 정량적으로 구하였다. KOH 처리시간이 1분인 경우 계면파괴에너지는 24.5 g/mm에서 5분 처리 시 33.3g/mm로 증가하였고, EDA처리 시간이 1분인 경우 31.6 g/mm에서, 5분 처리 시 22.3g/mm로 저하되었다. 이러한 습식 개질전처리 조건에 따른 폴리이미드 표면 거칠기 변화는 매우 작아서, 기계적 고착 효과는 계면파괴에너지 변화에 기여하지 못했음을 알 수 있다. KOH는 carboxyl기, EDA는 amine기를 폴리이미드 표면에 형성시켜 Ni과 강한 화학적 결합을 이루어, 폴리이미드 내부의 cohesive 박리거동을 보였다. 습식 개질전처리 조건에 따른 계면파괴에너지의 거동은 파면 부근에 형성된 O=C-O 결합과 매우 밀접한 연관성이 있는 것으로 판단된다.

$Ar^+$ RF 플라즈마 처리조건이 임베디드 PCB내 전극 Cu박막과 ALD $Al_2O_3$ 박막 사이의 계면파괴에너지에 미치는 영향 (Effect of $Ar^+$ RF Plasma Treatment Conditions on Interfacial Adhesion Energy Between Cu and ALD $Al_2O_3$ Thin Films for Embedded PCB Applications)

  • 임베디드 PCB 기판내 유전체 재료인 Atomic Layer Deposition(ALD) $Al_2O_3$ 박막과 전극재료인 스퍼터 증착된 Cu박막 사이의 계면접착력을 $90^{\circ}$ 필 테스트방법으로 측정하여 순수 빔 굽힘을 가정한 에너지 평형 해석을 통하여 계면파괴에너지를 구하였다. $Cu/Al_2O_3$의 계면파괴에너지(${\Gamma}$)는 매우 약하여 측정할 수 없었으나, 접착력 향상층 Cr 박막을 삽입하여 $Cr/Al_2O_3$의 계면파괴에너지는 $10.8{\pm}5.5g/mm$를 얻었다. $Al_2O_3$ 표면에 $0.123W/cm^2$ 의 power density로 2분간 $Ar^+$ RF 플라즈마 전처리를 하고 Cr박막을 삽입한 $Cr/Al_2O_3$ 계면파괴에너지는 $39.8{\pm}3.2g/mm$으로 매우 크게 증가하였는데, 이는 $Ar^+$ RF 플라즈마 전처리에 따른 mechanical interlocking효과와 Cr-O 화학결합 효과가 동시에 기여한 것으로 생각된다.

합금도금강판 내식성 향상을 위한 UV 경화형 유무기 하이브리드 코팅 (Improvement of anti-corrosive property for alloy plated steel sheet by UV curable organic-inorganic hybrid coatings)

  • According to its merits about high curing speed and low emission of volatile organic compounds, UV curable inorganic-organic coating technology has been developed as an alternative for toxic and carcinogenic chromate-based treatments for years. It is consistently observed that ultra-thin films offer excellent corrosion protection as well as paint adhesion to metals. Based on the tetra-ethylorthosilicate(TEOS) and methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane(MPTMS), inorganic sol was synthesized and formed hybrid networks with UV curable acrylic monomer, 6-hexanediol diacrylate(HDDA), trimethylolpropane triacrylate(TMPTA), pentaerylthritol triacrylate(PETA). Several methods were used to test their properties such as salt spray test, potentiodynamic measurement, tape peel test, etc. It was shown that anti-corrosive property and stability of storage were affected by the molecular ratios of inorganic and organic compounds. It was not only the stability of storage, but had a excellent anti-corrosive, paint adhesive, and anti-solvent properties in a final molar ratios of 0.6/0.04/0.86/0.005 (TEOS/MPTMS/Acetone/HNO3) and 0.08/0.106/0.081/0.02 (TMPTA/HDDA/PETA/photo initiator).

Deposition and Corrosion Resistance of Electrophoretic Paint Coated on AZ61 and TZ61 Magnesium Alloys

  • Electrophoretic paint (E-paint) was investigated on four different magnesium substrates: as-extruded AZ61 (AZ61), heat-treated AZ61 (AZ61-H), as-extruded TZ61 (TZ61) and heat-treated TZ61 (TZ61-H), to elucidate the effect of heat treatment and alloying elements on the deposition and corrosion resistance of E-paint. It was found that, a rapid increase of voltage, indicating that the deposition of E-paint had started, was observed after an induction time of 0.39 min for AZ61-H, 0.43 min for AZ61, 0.51 min for TZ61-H and 0.58 min for TZ61. The amount of E-paint deposited on the four samples was approximately similar, but the electrical charge used for the deposition process on the heat-treated samples was smaller than that on the as-extruded samples. The current efficiencies of E-paint on AZ samples (AZ61 and AZ61-H) were higher than those of TZ samples (TZ61 and TZ61-H), and on the heat-treated samples were higher than on as-extruded samples. All E-paintings on the four magnesium substrates had an excellent adhesion without any paint detached by tape peel-test. However, many large blisters were formed on the surface of AZ samples, and none, or very small blisters were observed on TZ samples after immersion test in DI-water for 500 h at $40^{\circ}C$. Under salt spray test (SST) conditions, E-paint on AZ samples showed blistering adjacent to scribes, while blistering of E-paint occurred on intact areas of TZ samples. The E-paint on heat-treated samples showed much better corrosion resistance than that on as-extruded samples. The ranking of greater to lesser corrosion resistance of the E-paint on these four different magnesium substrates is indicated by the order: AZ61-H > AZ61 > TZ61-H > TZ61.
