  • Treatment method refers to a principle or method for treating diseases in Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM). As doctors determine the ideal treatment for a patient's disease or symptom, they are also able to prescribe effective treatment means for the diseases or symptom such as medicinal materials, prescription, acupuncture and moxibustion. Therefore, if significant symptom-treatment method combinations are found from literature or database, proper treatment means for the patient's diseases or symptom may be presented to TKM doctors and enhanced treatment accuracy and efficiency can be expected. This study aims to analyze the relation between symptom and treatment method by interpreting hypotheses through null hypotheses to find significant symptom-treatment method combinations. This combinations suggested in this study will be compared with TKM experts analysis result to find an objective analysis method and eventually apply the method to medical big data, e.g., a huge amount of literature or treatment records.

  • Nebulizer is designed to atomize medicinal fluid for patient with small particles(0.5-$5{\mu}m$) and also able to deliver particles from devices to the lungs when patient inhales air. Several particle size measurements are currently used to size aerosol particles. The most commonly used test is the cascade impactor method in as a standard. But, other methods for comparative particle size distribution data such as the particle size range and reproducibility are acceptable. Therefore, in this study a new test methode is suggested for nonventilatory nebulizer evaluation equipment.

  • The principal aim of a sequential phase I clinical trial in which the toxicity reponses of a group of patient(s) determine the dose level of the next patient(s) group is to estimate the maximal tolerated dose(MTD) of a new drug, In this paper we compared with a simulation study the performance of the MTD estimates that are determined by a stopping rule in a design and also those that are determined by analyzing the data after a clinical trial is terminated. To the latter belong the mean median mode and maximum likelihood estimates. For the Standard Methods the stopping rule MTD is quite inefficient but the median MTD has a best efficiency and is robust with respect to the three different toxicity curves. The problem of non-convergence of MLE MTD is severe. A more improved MTD estimate is produced by combining the advantages of the various MTD estimates and its efficiency is better than the single median MTD estimate especially for the toxicity curve of an unlucky choice of dose levels. The simulation results suggest that simple types of phase I designs can be combined with relatively standard analytic techniques to provide a more efficient MTD estimate.

  • We describe the successful treatment of a case of chronic myeloid leukemia with Qi therapy. The patient's disease was managed with conventional medical treatment and Qi therapy as a complementary therapy. Before Qi therapy, 95% of the patient's bone marrow showed evidence of disease. A second bone marrow sample five months after Qi therapy revealed that 38% of the bone marrow was normal; one year after Qi therapy the bone marrow was no longer producing any cancer cells. Although these results were obtained for a single case only and may not constitute conclusive evidence, the data suggest that Qi therapy given as a complementary therapy during conventional medical treatment may have beneficial effects on chronic myeloid leukemia.

  • Purpose: This study shows a changing tendency of Japanese psychiatric hospitals, presenting "Visions in Reform of Mental Health and Medical Welfare", changed to "Hospitalized Medical Treatment to Living in the Community" and reducing the number of beds since 2004. Methods: This study uses a documentary survey, especially Jananese "Visions in Reform of Mental Health and Medical Welfare System" and a field survey on hospital built for early treatment and return to society after 2004. Results: Change tendencies of psychiatric hospitals are 1) diversification of isolation room and ward, 2) cluster of patient's room, 3) phased organization of space, 4)individualization. Implication: This study will be an important data for researching plan of Korea psychiatric hospital which needs to change by global tendency.

  • We propose the tele-monitoring system to real-time medical signal system and implemented the blood-pressure and blood-sugar monitoring system with bluetooth communication system. And, it transmits patient's data blood pressure, blood sugar to doctor and doctor sends the result of medical treatment to patient's phone, hand-phone or PDA. We developed the measurer as portable type in order to non-restrained monitor.

  • Digital therapeutics (DTx) are utilized to replace or supplement drug therapy to treat patients. DTx are developed as a mobile application for portability and convenience. The government requires security verification to be performed on digital medical devices that manage sensitive information during the transmission and storage of patient data. Although safety verification is included in the approval process for DTx, the cybersecurity checklist used as a reference does not reflect the characteristics of mobile applications. This poses the risk of potentially overlooking vulnerabilities during security verification. This study aims to address this issue by comparing and analyzing existing items based on the mobile tactics, techniques, and procedures of MITRE ATT&CK, which manages globally known and occurring vulnerabilities through regular updates. We identify 16 items that require improvement and expand the checklist to 29 items to propose improvement measures. The findings of this study may contribute to the safe development and advancement of DTx for managing sensitive patient information.

  • Objectives: To investigate compliance of hypertension patients using modified Theory of Reasoned Action(TRA). Methods: The data were collected for 7-12 April 1997, by interviewing 190 Hypertension patients in Hwachon, Kangwon-do. The analytical techniques employed include contingency table analysis and logit analysis. Results: 15.1% of patients were unaware of the fact that he/she has hypertension and 11.2% did not know that he/she should take drug. 20.8% of patients took drug continuously, 20.1% had drug intermittently, and 53.1% had never have treatment. In the contingency table analysis, several variables were found to be significantly related to patient compliance. They included variables for attitude towards the consequences of taking drugs, normative beliefs, systolic BP at the enrollment, knowledge of how to take hypertensive drugs, variables for general health behavior and experience with having health worker's home visit. The logit analysis was performed by two steps. first step uses experience with drug treatment of hypertension as the dependent variable, and second step uses continuity of treatment. Included in the predictors that are significantly related to the former analysis are subjected norms produced by combining normative beliefs and motivation to comply, knowledge of how to take hypertensive drugs, and opinion about natural recovery of diseases. The only significant determinant of continuous treatment was knowledge of how to take hypertensive drugs. Conclusions: The results of analysis suggest the usefulness of TRA as a framework for the study of compliance of hypertensive patients. The findings have some practical implication as well. One is that efforts for enhancing compliance should be directed not only patients but also to other persons influencing patient's attitude and behavior. It also suggest that correct understanding of hypertension treatment is essential to perform the appropriate patient role.

  • Consultation with the patient and doctor is very important in the examination. However, if the consultation cannot be done directly, such as corona virus, it is difficult for the doctor to determine the patient's condition more accurately. Recently, an image counseling system has been developed based on the Internet, but in the case of heart disease, remote medical counseling cannot be performed because it is not possible to stethoscope the heart sounds remotely. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to develop an interactive mobile robot capable of remote medical consultation, and a doctor and a patient should be able to set a planting sound during consultation and transmit it in real time. In this paper, we developed a robot that can remotely control a medical counseling robot to move to a hospital room where patients are hospitalized, and to consult a patient in the room remotely from a doctor's office. A remote medical imaging stethoscope system for real-time heart sound transmission is presented. The proposed system is a kind of P2P communication that transmits video information, audio information, and control signal independently through webRTC platform, so that there is no data loss. Consults and sees doctors in real time and finds it more effective than traditional methods for patient security. The system implemented in this paper will be able to perform remote medical care in the place where the spread of diseases between humans like the recent corona 19 as well as the remote medical care of heart disease patients in the future.
