  • An advanced and proactive response mechanism against diverse attacks on All-IP network should be proposed for enhance its security and reliability on open network. There are two main research works related to this study. First one is the SPIE system with hash function on Bloom filter and second one is the Sinkhole routing mechanism using BGP protocol for verifying its transmission path. In this study, we proposed an advanced IP Tracing mechanism based on Bloom filter and Sinkhole routing mechanism. Proposed mechanism has a Manager module for controlling the regional router with using packet monitoring and filtering mechanism to trace and find the attack packet's real transmission path. Additionally, proposed mechanism provides advanced packet aggregation and monitoring/control module based on existing Sinkhole routing method. Therefore, we can provide an optimized one in All-IP network by combining the strength on existing two mechanisms. And the Tracing performance also can be enhanced compared with previously suggested mechanism.

In this study, we studied and proposed a new IP traceback mechanism on All-IP network environments based on existing SPIE and Sinkhole routing model when diverse DDoS attacks would be happen. Proposed mechanism has a Manager module for controlling the regional router with using packet monitoring and filtering mechanism to trace and find the attack packet's real transmission path. Proposed mechanism uses simplified and optimized memory for storing and memorizing the packet's hash value on bloom filter, with which we can find and determine the attacker's real location on open network. Additionally, proposed mechanism provides advanced packet aggregation and monitoring/control module based on existing Sinkhole routing method. Therefore, we can provide an optimized one in All-IP network by combining the strength on existing two mechanisms. • Hidden Markov Models (HMM's) with explicit state duration density (HMM/SD) can represent the time-varying characteristics of speech signals more accurately. However, such an advantage is reduced in relatively smooth state duration densities or ling bounded duration. To solve this problem, we propose HMM's with global path constraint (HMM/GPC) where the transition between states occur only within prescribed time slots. HMM/GPC explicitly limits state durations and accurately describes the temproal structure of speech simply and efficiently. HMM's formed by combining HMM/GPC with HMM/SD are also presented (HMM/SD+GPC) and performances are compared. HMM/GPC can be implemented with slight modifications to the conventional Viterbi algorithm. HMM/GPC and HMM/SD_GPC not only show superior performance than the conventional HMM and HMM/SD but also require much less computation. In the speaket independent isolated word recognition experiments, the minimum recognition eror rate of HMM/GPC(1.6%) is 1.1% lower than the conventional HMM's and the required computation decreased about 57%.

  • The flow in a microchannel is usually characterized as a low Reynolds number (Re) so that good mixing is quite difficult to be achieved. In this regard, we developed a novel chaotic micromixer, named Serpentine Laminating Micromixer (SLM) in the present study, Part 1. In the SLM, the higher level of chaotic mixing can be achieved by combining two general chaotic mixing mechanisms: splitting/recombination and chaotic advection. The splitting and recombination (in other term, lamination) mechanism is obtained by the successive arrangement of 'F'-shape mixing units in two layers. The chaotic advection is induced by the overall three-dimensional serpentine path of the microchannel. Chaotic mixing performance of the SLM was fully characterized numerically. To compare the mixing performance, a T-type micromixer which has the same width, height and length of the SLM was also designed. The three-dimensional numerical mixing simulations show the superiority of the SLM over the T-type micromixer. From the cross-sectional simulation results of mixing patterns, the chaotic advection effect from the serpentine channel path design acts favorably to realize the ideal lamination of fluid flow as Re increases. Chaotic mixing mechanism, proposed in this study, could be easily integrated in Micro-Total-Analysis-System, Lab-on-a-Chip and so on.

  • Various manufacturing technologies, including over-molding and insert-injection molding, are used to produce hybrid plastics and metals. However, there are disadvantages to these technologies, as they require several steps in manufacturing and are limited to what can be reasonably achieved within the complexities of part geometry. This study aims to determine a practical approach for producing metal/plastic hybrid components by combining plastic injection molding and metal die casting to create a new hybrid metal/plastic molding process. The integrated metal/plastic hybrid injection molding process developed in this study uses the proven method of multi-component technology as a basis to combine plastic injection molding with metal die casting into one integrated process. In this study, the electrical conductivity and ampacity were verified to qualify the new process for the production of parts used in electronic devices. The electrical conductivity was measured, contacting both sides of the test sample with constant pressure, and the resistivity was measured using a micro ohmmeter. Also, the specific conductivity was subsequently calculated from the resistivity and contact surface of the conductor path. The ampacity defines the maximum amount of current a conductive path can carry before sustaining immediate or progressive deterioration. The manufactured hybrid multi-components were loaded with increasing currents, while the temperature was recorded with an infrared camera. To compare the measured infrared images, an electro-thermal simulation was conducted using commercial CAE software to predict the maximum temperature of the power loaded parts. Overall, during the injection molding process, it was demonstrated that multifunctional parts can be produced for electric and electronic applications.

  • In Japan, high-speed ground transportation service using linear motors at speeds of 500 km/h is scheduled to begin in 2027. To accommodate 5G services in trains, a subcarrier spacing frequency of 30 kHz will be used instead of the typical 15 kHz subcarrier spacing to mitigate Doppler effects in such high-speed transport. Furthermore, to increase the cell size of the 5G mobile system, multiple base station antennas will transmit identical downlink (DL) signals to form an expanded cell size along the train rails. In this situation, the forward and backward antenna signals are Doppler-shifted in opposite directions, respectively, so the receiver in the train may suffer from estimating the exact Channel Transfer Function (CTF) for demodulation. In a previously published paper, we proposed a channel estimator based on Delay and Doppler Profiler (DDP) in a 5G SISO (Single Input Single Output) environment and successfully implemented it in a signal processing simulation system. In this paper, we extend it to 2×2 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) with spatial multiplexing environment and confirm that the delay and DDP based channel estimator is also effective in 2×2 MIMO environment. Its simulation performance is compared with that of a conventional time-domain linear interpolation estimator. The simulation results show that in a 2×2 MIMO environment, the conventional channel estimator can barely achieve QPSK modulation at speeds below 100 km/h and has poor CNR performance versus SISO. The performance degradation of CNR against DDP SISO is only 6dB to 7dB. And even under severe channel conditions such as 500km/h and 8-path inverse Doppler shift environment, the error rate can be reduced by combining the error with LDPC to reduce the error rate and improve the performance in 2×2 MIMO. QPSK modulation scheme in 2×2 MIMO can be used under severe channel conditions such as 500 km/h and 8-path inverse Doppler shift environment.

  • Optical Fourier-domain reflectometry (OFDR) sensors have been widely used to measure distances with high resolution and speed in a noncontact state. In the electroplating process of a printed circuit board, it is critically important to monitor the copper-plating thickness, as small deviations can lead to defects, such as an open or short circuit. In this paper we employ a phase-based OFDR sensor for in situ relative distance sensing of a sample with nanometer-scale resolution, during electroplating. We also develop an optical-path difference (OPD)-regulated sensing probe that can maintain a preset distance from the sample. This function can markedly facilitate practical measurements in two aspects: Optimal distance setting for high signal-to-noise ratio OFDR sensing, and protection of a fragile probe tip via vertical evasion movement. In a sample with a centimeter-scale structure, a conventional OFDR sensor will probably either bump into the sample or practically out of the detection range of the sensing probe. To address this limitation, a novel OPD-regulated OFDR system is designed by combining the OFDR sensing probe and linear piezo motors with feedback-loop control. By using multiple OFDR sensors, it is possible to effectively monitor copper-plating thickness in situ and uniformize it at various positions.
