Accident Prevention Counterplen of the Elevator for the Passenger (승객용 승강기의 재해예방에 관한 연구)

  • Recently the car and elevator accidents as well as the fire, explosion and collapse increased. The passenger elevator accident from 1993 year to 2001 year has about 56.7% of total accidents and the human victims of 180 according to the Korea Elevator Safety Institute. Accident cause and prevention were investigated for the elevator having the fall, impact and narrowness accident types. The prevention and protection methods of the elevator accident from analysis results were suggested by comparing and analogizing the accident statistics about the accident investigation of the passenger elevator according to the elevator accidents.

  • Increasing elevator system every year that is directly connected passenger's safety and connected peculiarity Reliability of each variety equipment that is composing elevator is linked with passenger's safely, and prevent accident is important. Malfunction by electric part of elevator system that is composing elevator is not easy to examine closely the cause. Estimation about malfunction of component by electric power quality must consist among them. In this paper, inspect elevator accident figure to examine effect that electric power quality gets on elevator that see and presented thing for research direction and necessity of electric safety consideration by such electric malfunction.

  • This paper gives the information for fault and malfunction of the Elevator for the passenger. For analyzing the fault and malfunction of the elevator equipment we research the report of fault and malfunction which is written by ATP electric director and Elevator maintenance company during recently one year. We analyze the number of fault and malfunction according to classified by month, season, time and classify the kind of fault and malfunction such as stop, fault of door, malfunction of floor indication and so on. And now we research fault and malfunction for the power quality such as Sag, Swell, Interruption, Harmonic, electric voltage rise and so on at elevator equipments and are testing Elevator imitation equipment.

  • In order to check traction of the elevator, the load-test is positively necessary on the inspection of elevator in Korea. So actual loads are used in the elevator car for the load-test. However, some of advanced countries in Europe, for example Germany, are using the alternative method with no load test instead of traditional load-test. Commonly hydraulic elevator, compared to passenger elevator is mainly used for loading heavy weights. It requires a great deal of labor to carry out load-test. The reason is why we developed a new inspection skill for the load-test of hydraulic elevator without actual loads. The results of studies show that the new method of the load-test can be replace the traditional load-test.

  • As the demand for high-rise buildings increases, the demand for high-speed elevators is also increasing. In order to make a high-speed elevator, a method is needed to reduce the weight of the elevator's components, which is a constraint on the increase in speed. As a measure to reduce the weight, it is possible to remove the traveling cable for power and signal supply. Since the weight of the traveling cable varies depending on the position of the carriage, it is difficult to compensate the weight using the counter weight. The power supply is a structure in which a brush-rail type power input terminal is installed in the elevator hoistway to receive power in a contact-type manner while the carriage is moving. If a small-capacity ESS is installed in a passenger car, power can be supplied uninterruptedly inside the passenger car. A small-capacity ESS charging system to be applied to such an elevator system is required to perform several functions. First, the passenger Car must be able to charge as much as possible even during high-speed operation. A control algorithm with high responsiveness is required because charging starts and ends repeatedly by the partially installed input power stage. In addition, if the input-side line impedance is large due to the structure of the system and the response characteristic is increased, the stability of the system may be lowered. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a control algorithm that has a stable steady-state output while having a fast response in a transient state. To verify the proposed control algorithm, simulation was conducted using PSIM, and the performance of the controller was verified by manufacturing a prototype buck conveter charger.

  • Because of ultra-high buildings or deeper underground space, recent buildings have the potential that people who have lack of physical strength collapse before arriving at the emergency exits when catastrophes occur. In case of fire, the way to escape is that first, people take the stairs of the adjacent areas and then use the elevator to the remaining distance by road to escape notice or be safe. For this reason, the skyscrapers guidelines of Seoul for information on the elevator for evacuation has been established. Nevertheless, when designing buildings to install a elevator for evacuation separately is not effective, so passenger elevators installation according to the criteria are encouraged to use as evacuation elevators. However, this does not include detailed design guidelines so far. Therefore, this study was to investigate design method to use the passenger elevator for evacuation according to the domestic law and international installation criteria, and to calculated number of lifts and refuge to use the elevator using by the ELVAC+ and PathFinder evacuation program.

Thermal and Fluid Analysis on Air Distribution in a Elevator Car (엘리베이터 카 내부 기류분포에 관한 열 유동해석)

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the visualization of the flow field for air flow distributed in the car from the ventilation fan installed in the ceiling of the passenger elevator car through the numerical analysis using computational fluid dynamics. STAR-CCM+, which is a code used for the numerical analysis, was used to predict the airflow distribution inside the elevator car. The numerical analysis of the distribution of the air current in the elevator was carried out. As a result, the analysis results for each point and the visualization of the air current distribution and the temperature distribution in the elevator car and were obtained. It was found that heat transfer was actively occurring inside the car due to the influence of the flow field discharged from the ventilation vent installed in the ceiling in the elevator car, and especially the convection heat transfer of Model-2 was more active than that of Model-1. As a result, the temperature distribution inside the car was found to be relatively low. In addition, the temperature distribution at a cross-section of 1700mm height in the elevator car shows that Model-2 is the location of the ventilation vent which makes people feel more comfortable.

  • This paper analysed the characteristic of Power consumption at many type of Inverter controlled Elevator. Especially, this paper proposed the standard value of full load currents. For this propose, it was classified by the passenger capacity and manufacture company. As a result, it is found that (i) the value is between -3[A] and 7[A] in case of elevator. That means the full load currents was smaller than the standard value of conventional operation type (ii) the value is between 0.5[kVA] and 3[kVA] in case of Power transformer. That means the transformer capacity was smaller than the standard value of conventional operation type. it was classified by the passenger capacity at inverter controlled elevator in apartment Also, to guarantee the operation stop of inverter controlled elevator, this paper proposed the redundancy method of electrical installations. the redundancy method is (i) 2 line service system and (ii) 2 distribution line system.

  • This study is about vector controlled inverter for high quality elevator drive that is to improve the settling accuracy of elevator car and passenger's comfort in commercial buildings. In this study, an instantaneous space vector control type inverter was used to reduce the torque ripple ant to improve the velocity follow-up. This method calculates Instantaneous actual output torque and flux of induction motor by voltage and current, then compares them with a reference values by a speed regulator. The outputs of comparators select a switching mode, for an optimal voltage vector. Also, this study used IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar-Transistor), a high speed switching element, to reduce sound noise level, and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) was used to improve the reliability of the control circuit by fully digitalization.

  • The number of confine-disease of elevator increases every year and then sudden rise, sudden stop, error of level indication, stand; those can bring to uneasiness of elevator passenger and malfunction accidents related life accident are increasing. For confirmation those malfunction accident, we are measuring and analyzing power quality(Sag, Interruption, Harmonic) of the actual site and evaluated the performance for stop and stating by testing the two imitation test equipment with EN12016(2004) standard level. This paper will be used data of the analysis for mutual relation between Power Quality and malfunction and fault of elevator.
