  • An Airport is important space and even stands for the country because diverse people from other countries use a variety of facilities in the gateway to the country. Therefore, It is urgent for those people to increase efficiency and convenience of its usage and also. It's worth accumulating those know-how and technologies. In this situation, Incheon International Airport aiming to be a hub of north-east Asia need to focus more on restructuring general process of passenger's travel based on PI perspectives then simply improving a process of passenger's travel and have been trying to realize the process based on Innovation perspectives with following precess innovation consisting 5 steps And to conclude, this study will help Incheon International Airport to be innovative in a system of passenger's travel service related to a utility of airport and then achieve a hub Airport of North-East Asia.

A Comparative Study of Satisfaction of Chinese and Japanese Transit Passengers at Incheon International Airport (인천국제공항에서 환승하는 중국인.일본인의 환승만족도에 대한 차이분석)

  • This paper tried to find out what the main factors are to impact on satisfaction level of transit passengers at Incheon airport. Incheon airport has made lots of transit facilities and services to attract transit passengers from neighboring airports to increase transit rate as high as advanced foreign airports such as Heathrow, Schiphol and Hong Kong. A survey was performed on 450 transit passengers resting at airport transit lounge in airside area. According to the result, it was found out to be significant factors affecting satisfaction of transit that convenience of security screening, price of duty-free product, a direction board & signage and terminal orientation among Chinese transit passengers. On the other hands, it seemed that Japanese transit passengers thought diversity of airline routes, convenient transfer flight schedule, total transit time and terminal orientation are major variables affecting their satisfaction. Considering the effect of demographic factors, Chinese passenger's satisfaction was more affected by age, travel purpose, the number of travel per year and flight destinations. However, Japanese transit passenger's satisfaction was only affected by the flight destinations, especially willing to travel to North America and Europe.

  • Safety of breaking facility is very important in subway safety, especially in case of subway that many people used, breaking capability is connected directly with safety and capability of vehicle. Recently, direction of subway technical development is established as passenger's convenience and agreeableness. However, we are known importance of safety in subway through Dae-gu subway incendiary case. Subway accident not happen only fire, vehicle collisions or passenger's fall to the track can happen. In this case, safety standard of breaking facilities is very important. so this paper define safety of breaking facilities and take proper that standard.

  • Performed was a survey to find the level of interest on passenger services using IT and smart sensor technology in connection with High Speed Train development in Korea. The survey respondents were sampled from the KTX passengers, KTX crews, Korail employees, IT or sensor experts, and rolling stock experts. The results of the survey were categorized as importance, urgency/necessity, importance vs urgency/necessity, improvement measure, preferable activities based on the trip length, and inconveniencies. By analyzing the results, service items that can be implemented to the High Speed Train were recognized. The results showed that a passenger tends to expect to have his/her comfort and convenience, an attendant safety and serviceability, a Korail employee information provision and serviceability, an IT/sensor expert technological implementation done, and a rolling stock expert implementation done in practical level.

  • Now many major airports in the world which operate strategic alliance or Hub & Spoke system have met capacity restriction and confusion problems. And the time and the walking distance for boarding to flight are important standard to measure customer convenience. And the effective gate assignment guarantees customers convenience as well as increasing airport capacity without expanding established airport equipments. So it can be a major concern to manage airports. So this paper formulate gate assignment problem in the hub airport not quadratic assignment problem but a improved single-period integer problem which is minimize local and transit passengers I walking distance. As a result, this study will present a method producing optimal gate assignment result using optimization software. We use real flights and gates data in the national airport, so we will compare a assignment results with a real airport assignment results and previous researches and analyze those results.

  • The station area development planed to improve the old and narrowed station and to enhance the train passenger's convenience through private capital attraction in the past. But it has been faced with difficulty for the creative of transfer demand. Because of lean upon building facilities were caused by shortage of business profitability as to development of the upside a railway line, and lack of public utilities. The station area development requires that it's trend to large scale development of station areas, korail's direct development, deputation of specialty company to development, collaboration between local government and korail in development, diversification of process & installed facility, building multi-transfer center and one-stop transfer system. This trend caused by low profitability in development of the upside a railway line. The purposes of study are to make the system and law reflected to the property of station area development, investment in kind of needed land, and change railroad areas to high-rise and complex development, and make a forum between government and korail, etc.

  • Many rail operators have developed ticketing systems for the use of rail service and the increase of operation revenue by AIM, E-ticket and mobile tickets. Also they have operated rail pass for rail revenue by foreign tourists. Russian railways (RZD) has similar rail systems with CIS countries and sometimes same tickets. A few years ago, RZD introduced and operated E-ticketing system for the increase of passenger's convenience and operation revenue, and CIS countries have adopted and widely used this system. This study will introduce the revenue business by E-ticketing system of RZD, and forecast Russian railroad business in the future.

  • 페리는 도서지역과 도시를 연결하는 중요한 교통수단이다. 최근에는 섬 관광, 낚시객 등이 늘어나면서 페리터미널을 이용하는 이용객이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 차량과 여객을 함께 탑승하는 페리(차도선)가 접안하는 페리터미널이 이용객 관점에서 이용에 편리한지에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 많은 섬을 연결하는 도서항로가 위치하고 있는 목포지역을 대상으로 심층 설문조사(Audit survey)를 실시하여 페리터미널 이용객의 보행 편리성에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • Smart Airport which applies the new ICT technologies to the airport is a future airport to provide convenient and safe services for passengers who are airport users, and promote the efficient management of the airport system in point of airport operator's view. The ranges of smart airport include the overall area of the airport like land side, terminal, and air side. In this paper, we propose a technical solution for airport process of terminal providing passenger convenience in various ranges for smart airport realization. Self-service such as web or mobile check-in, self check-in/tagging/back drop/boarding etc. should be strengthened to smartize the airport process and technologies such as automatic immigration, smart security search and automatic AI-based baggage search should be applied. In this paper, we explain the concept of smart airport and smart process, and then propose technical considerations.
