In this paper we investigate the existence of positive solutions of a nonlinear biharmonic equation under Dirichlet boundary condition in a bounded open set ${\Omega}$ in $\mathbf{R}^n$, i.e., $${\Delta}^2u+c{\Delta}u=bu^{+}+s\;in\;{\Omega},\\u=0,\;{\Delta}u=0\;on\;{\partial}{\Omega}$$.

Only five instances of chylopericardium following cardiac surgery have been reported in the literature previously. We encounted this complication in a patient who was operated on for secundum atrial septal defect. The patient readmitted one month after discharge because of large amount of chylous pericardial effusion. Conservative treatment of pericardiostomy drainage and parenteral hyperalimentation was continued for 3 weeks without improvement. Partial pericardiectomy and pericardiopleural window was done with success and no recurrence of chylopericardium was observed upto 3 months after surgery. We think this is the first case report of chylopericardium after open heart surgery in Korea.

The baker transformation is an ergodic transformation defined on the half open unit square. This paper considers the limiting behavior of the partial sum process of a martingale sequence constructed from the baker transformation. We get the uniform law of large numbers for the baker transformation.

The nonlinear fourth order elliptic equations with jumping nonlinearity was modeled by McKenna. We investigate the trends for the researches of the existence of solutions of a fourth order semilinear elliptic boundary value problem with Dirichlet boundary Condition, ${\Delta}^2u{＋}c{\Delta}u=b_1[(u＋1)^{-}1]{＋}b_2u^+$ in ${\Omega}$, where ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$.

In this paper, we focus on the convex-valued selection theorem out of four main selection theorems; zero-dimensional, convex-valued, compact-valued, finite-dimensional theorems based on Michael's papers. We prove some theorems about lower semi-continuous set-valued mappings, and derive some applications to closed continuous set-valued mappings and to functional analysis. We also give a partial solution to the open problem posed by Engelking, Heath, and Michael.

We prove the stability of a generalized Cauchy functional equation of the form ; $$f(a_1x+a_2y)=b_1f(x)+b_2f(y)+w.$$ That is, we obtain a partial answer for the open problem which was posed by the Th.M Rassias and J. Tabor on the stability for a generalized functional equation.

The paper aims to examine the relationship of emotional intelligence on the project success, the causal relationship between emotional intelligence and project success, and also investigate the influence of emotional intelligence and the mediating role of transformational leadership as well as the moderating effect of organization commitment on the relationship between emotional intelligence and project success. Cross sessional research is applied to collect the data in this study. By applying quantitative research and survey question, the study collects 325 respondents who are the project managers. Snow-ball sampling method is used to distribute the questionnaires by face to face survey (68% of respondents) and online survey (32% of respondents). The collected data is analyzing by applying partial least square (PLS-SEM) via software SmartPLS 3.0.The result shows that the emotional intelligence and the transformational leadership making the project even more successful as the mediation actor. Furthermore, the project commitment also has the moderator effect between transformational leadership and project success. With the result of study, project managers should be aware of the importance of emotional intelligence and their commitment to the ability to manage projects successfully. A successful project is a combination of many actors, the most critical actor is the leader of the project.

As the external knowledge networks of firms have become more and more important to their product and service innovations, many global leading companies such as P & G, IBM, and Samsung Electronics have formulated and implemented their open innovation strategy. This study attempts to empirically analyze the effects of CEOs' supports for external knowledge networks, external knowledge network-oriented cultures and inter-organizational knowledge management systems as the major antecedents to external knowledge networks by using the data based on organizational members' perceptions about them. Based on 847 samples collected from employees in three companies in the medical, the construction and the IT service industries, this study performed a structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis about the effects of the antecedents to the external knowledge networks on product and service innovations through Partial Least Squares (PLS). The empirical findings of this study show that CEOs' supports for external knowledge network positively influence product and service innovations, partially mediated by external knowledge network-oriented cultures and inter-organizational knowledge management systems. And they also show that external knowledge network-oriented cultures and inter-organizational knowledge management systems have a positive effect on product and service innovations, respectively, partially mediated by external knowledge networks. With these new findings, academic and practical implications are discussed.

In this study, we present a multidimensional open system for valveless pumping (VP). This system consists of an elastic tube connected to two open tanks filled with a fluid under gravity. The two-dimensional elastic tube model is constructed based on the immersed boundary method, and the tank model is governed by a system of ordinary differential equations based on the work-energy principle. The flows into and out of the elastic tube are modeled in terms of the source/sink patches inside the tube. The fluid dynamics of this system is generated by the periodic compress-and-release action applied to an asymmetric region of the elastic tube. We have developed an algorithm to couple these partial differential equations and ordinary differential equations using the pressure-flow relationship and the linearity of the discretized Navier-Stokes equations. We have observed the most important feature of VP, namely, the existence of a unidirectional net flow in the system. Our computations are focused on the factors that strongly influence the occurrence of unidirectional flows, for example, the frequency, compression duration, and location of pumping. Based on these investigations, some case studies are performed to observe the details of the ow features.

We present a transformation which converts open-code multi-staged programs into closed ones. Staged computation, which explicitly divides a computation into separate stages, is a unifying framework for existing program generation systems. Because a multi-staged program generates another program, which can also generate a third program and on, the implementation of a multi-staged language is not straightforward. Dynamic binding of (lexically free) variables in code also makes the implementation of a multi-staged language hard. By converting each code into code of function which takes environment for free variables as its argument and giving an actual environment at the code-composition site, we can transform a open-code program into a closed-code one. Combining with Davies and Pfenning's method, our closed-code-conversion enables the implementation of the unstaged language to be useful for executing multi-staged programs. We also prove the correctness of our conversion: the converted program is equivalent to the original program, and the converted program does not have open code.
