Performance Analysis of Proportional Fair Scheduling with Partial Feedback Information for Multiuser MIMO-OFDMA Systems (다중 사용자 MIMO-OFDMA 시스템에서 부분 궤환 정보를 이용한 비례적 공정 스케줄링의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of normalized SNR based proportional fair scheduling with partial feedback information for multiuser MIMO-OFDMA systems. The closed form expression on the downlink capacity of the selective partial CQI feedback scheme is derived and its asymptotic behavior is investigated. From the performance analysis and numerical results, it is found that the optimal growth rate of downlink capacity can be achieved with bounded average feedback overhead irrespective of the number of users.

PAPR Reduction using Partial Transmit Sequences with Side Information of feedback Type (궤환형 부가정보를 사용하는 PTS 기법의 PAPR 감소)

  • PTS(partial transmit sequences) has been widely studied for reducing the PAPR of OFDM signal, since it is flexible and any spectral regrowth may not occurred. A drawback of this PTS method should transmit the side information of the optimized phase factor for correct OFDM symbol recovery. A new idea of this paper is to insert the feedback type side information in the conventional PTS method. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme has the same PAPR reduction performance as the conventional PTS without side information and OFDM data are correctly recovered to get the required BER. Also, this method is independent of the channel characteristics and can be easily realized.

  • In this paper, we present a new method for user selection, sub-band allocation, and power allocation in order to maximize the system throughput under the constraint of transmit power in multiuser downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems with partial channel quality information (CQI). In previous schemes, each user in one cell transmits CQI of all sub-bands to the base station, which requires enormous feedback overhead. Therefore, we proposed an efficient power allocation and modulation and coding selection scheme in which each user transmits partial CQI and one additional information to reduce the amount of feedback. Simulation results show that we can greatly reduce the amount of feedback than full feedback system.

  • CoMP(Coordinated Multi-Point transmission and reception) refers to a cooperative transmission strategy to control the interference from adjacent base stations in cellular mobile communication systems, which efficiently enhances the data throughput of the systems. As the number of the base stations participating in cooperative transmission increases, however, a larger amount of information exchange to carry the CSI(Channel State Information) of the mobile terminals is required. In this paper, we propose a partial CoMP transmission method for systems under the constraint of finite feedback information data. This method selects candidates of base stations which can provide high efficiency gain when they participate in the CoMP set. To achieve this, the cooperative base station combination is constructed by considering the preferred base stations of users. The cooperative base station combinations are dynamically applied since the preferred base station combinations of users may be different. We perform computer simulations to compare performance of the non-CoMP, full-CoMP and partial CoMP in terms of the average throughput using finite feedback and demonstrate the performance improvement of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we study joint feedback design for interference channel (IC). We develop a simple iterative algorithm for the joint feedback design to maximize the expected rate when the transmitters use partial channel-state information (CSI) obtained by the feedback link. Also, from the simulation result, we show that the performance gain is obtained compared to the conventional scheme.

  • In this paper, we consider downlink throughput performances of multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with reduced channel information feedback schemes. Specifically, two types of reduced feedback schemes, namely, 1-bit per sub-carrier and selective feedback scheme are considered and compared with each other in terms of average network throughput. Since the strict throughput comparison for given number of feedback bits per user is quite difficult, rather we compare their general behaviors in various system configurations with different system parameters, which can give us an insight into practical system design with those reduced feedback schemes.

  • Partial response maximum-likelihood (PRML) and fixed-delay tree search with decision feedback (FDTS/DF) yield a sub-optimum performance in storage systems. However, they suffer from the inevitable complexity problems. this paper focuses on detection schemes to overcome the drawbacks of the sequence detections by exploiting minimum run-length d=2. It is expected that the proposed systems yield substantial reductions of both processing speed and receiver complexity. When combined with a decision feedback equalization (DFE), they prove to keep pace with the FDTS/DF with ${\tau}$=2 and even outperform the PR(1111)ML at normalized density S>5.6.

  • In this paper, we investigate the method for reducing the amount of feedback in multi-user downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems. The objective is to maximize the total throughput of the system under the constraints of transmit power. In previous methods, each user in a cell transmits channel quality information (CQI) of its all sub-bands to the base station, which requires extremely high feedback overhead. Thus, we propose an efficient sub-band allocation algorithm in which each user transmits partial CQI and one additional information to reduce the amount of feedback. Simulation results show that we can greatly reduce the amount of feedback than full feedback system.

  • To reduce the feedback overhead of predicted CSI (channel status information) of adaptive OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing), we use partial data of CSI and employ linear interpolation. Simulation results show estimated CSI and its MSE.

  • For wireless communication systems of (and beyond) LTE-Advanced, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) with an increased number of antennas will be utilized for system throughput improvement. When using such an increased number of antenna, an excessive amount of overhead in channel state information (CSI) feedback can be a serious problem. In this paper, we propose methods which reduce the CSI feedback overhead, particularly including application strategies for multi-rank transmission targeted for two or more reception antennas. To reduce the information which is instantaneously transmitted from the reception node to the transmission node, we present a beamforming method utilizing singular value decomposition (SVD) based on channel estimation of partitioned antenna arrays. Since the SVDs for partial matrices of the channel may lose the characteristics of the original unpartitioned matrix, we explain an appropriate scheme to cope with this problem.
