영재학생의 다중지능과 그 학부모가 인식하는 자녀에 대한 다중지능의 비교 (Comparison of Multi-intelligence of gifted students and their parents' perception of their children)

  • In this study, we compare the multiple intelligence of gifted students with the multiple intelligence of their children recognized by their parents. The subjects of the study are 118 students and their parents at the gifted education center affiliated with A University. First of all, there is a difference between the multiple intelligence of gifted students and the multiple intelligence recognized by their parents. Parents are highly regarded their children in all multiple intelligence components. Second, there are differences in multiple intelligence of gifted students' gender. The difference in multiple intelligence of children recognized by parents depending on the gender of the student was similar to the student's results. Third, there are not much difference in multiple intelligence between elementary and middle school students. However, there is a big difference between students and parents in the elementary school group compared to the middle school students. Therefore, since multi-intelligence can be developed by individual experience and environment throughout one's life, an educational environment that reflects objective evaluation and student needs rather than parental subjective judgment should be created.

  • 그간 많은 선행 연구들이 영재성 발현과 성취를 위해 부모 조력의 중요성에 대해서 지속적으로 강조해 왔음에도 불구하고 실제로 부모의 참여를 어떻게 유도하고 지원할 것인가에 대한 연구는 부족하다. '무엇을', '왜' 라는 측면에서 영재부모를 위한 지원에 대해 검토하지 않은 채 막연히 영재학생의 부모역할이 중요하므로 그들을 교육해야한다는 취지아래 부모교육을 통한 지원이 일반화 되어왔다. 이러한 현실은 자칫 영재부모 지원을 위해 보다 중요한 사항을 놓칠 우려가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 효율적인 부모지원을 위해 다양한 차원에서 영재부모 지원의 개념을 살펴보고 영재부모지원과 관련된 문제점들을 탐색했다. 나아가 현재 영재학생의 부모지원 체제가 가지고 있는 문제점들을 보완할 수 있는 부모 지원의 새로운 접근 방법을 제안함으로써 총체적인 영재부모지원의 방향을 모색하는데 의의가 있다.

중학교 과학영재아에 대한 교사와 부모의 태도 및 과학영재아의 행동특성 (The Attitude of Teachers and Parents toward the Gifts in Science and the Behavioral characteristics of Science Gifted Student)

  • Most middle school and high school students learns under the same study plans and educational courses. Such an equal level education policies prevent the science-gifted from developing and promoting their ability. So it is severely necessary to sort out the gifted in science and make them develop their ability. In this paper, the attitudes of teachers and parents toward the science-gifted student in middle school were investigated as well as the characteristics of the gifted. One hundred science teachers of middle school who recommended the gifted in science and their parents in Seoul area were questionnaired. The follows are the consequences of investigation. 1. Most teachers and parents of the gifted considered that the school should do a special care for the gifted in science. That is, they prefer the enrichment course to the acceleration course for it. 2. The teachers play the role of motivating the study and promotion very well, but do not well as either the advisor or the cooperator with the parents because of their excessive work and lack of professional knowledgement about education of the gifted. 3. The parents play the role of the advisor or the counselor well, but do not well as the cooperator with school. 4. Among the characteristics of the gifted, there are not any differences between boys and girls in conduct characteristics. But there are meaningful difference in emotion characteristics. 5. The education of the gifted is very important for developing of country and personal promotion. So the administrative and financial support are necessary in order to sort out the gifted in science earlier and provide various programs.

초등학교 과학 영재와 일반 학생 부모의 과학에 대한 태도 및 과학 활동 지원 정도 분석 연구 (An Analysis of the Attitudes toward Science and Support for Scientific Activities of Scientific Gifted and General Students' Parents in Elementary Schools)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the attitudes toward science and support for scientific activities of the scientific gifted students' parents and the general students' parents in elementary school. The objects of the study were 99 scientific gifted students and their parents and 433 general elementary school students and their parents. The instruments for the measurement of attitudes toward science included three scales: cognition :About value of science, affection toward science and science learning, and cognitive participation in scientific activities. The instrument to measure parents' support for scientific activities included two scales: indirect support and direct support. The results of the study showed that the attitudes toward science of scientific gifted elementary students' parents were more positive than the attitudes toward science of general elementary students' parents. Also the gifted elementary students' parents supported many more scientific activities for their children with various methods than the general elementary students' parents. Their preferring support methods for scientific activities included 16 items including the collection of information about science education, the record of TV science programs, purchase of scientific books, subscription of periodical publication about science, preparing material for scientific activities, and reading scientific book with children.

수학영재아, 부모, 교사가 본 영재교육 (Viewpoints of Mathematics gifted students, parents, teachers about Gifted Education)

  • 본 연구에서는 S대학부설 과학영재교육에서 교육받고 있는 수학영재아들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 이를 바탕으로 수학영재아, 부모, 교사 면담을 실시하여 영재성, 영재교육의 필요성, 인과적 귀인 등에 관한 그들의 관점을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 다음을 확인하였다. 첫째, 영재아들의 부모나 교사는 지적 능력을, 영재아들은 창의성을 영재성의 가장 중요한 요소라고 생각하였다. 둘째, 영재아들은 교육환경에 따라 서로 다른 의사소통 능력을 보인다. 셋째, 수학영재아들은 자신의 영재성이나 문제해결능력을 내적요인에 귀인하는 반면, 부모나 교사는 외적요인에 귀인한다.

한 초등과학 영재의 외로움에 대한 내러티브 탐구 (Narrative Inquiry on a Scientifically Gifted Elementary School Student's Loneliness)

  • This study was done by narrative inquiry, suggested by Clandinin and Conelly (2000), in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the loneliness experienced by a scientifically gifted elementary school student. The participant of this study was sixth grade student from the Institute for Science Gifted in C University. The data were gathered via in-depth interviews and observations on the participant and her teachers. Based on these research findings, this study can make the following four conclusions with regard to the loneliness experienced by a gifted elementary school student in science. First, some characteristics of the gifted child may make her feel loneliness in the relationships she has with peers, siblings, and parents. Second, parent's repression makes the gifted child feels lonely. Third, the gifted child who feels lonely get consolation from her own subjective world and wants to get recognition from others. Fourth, the educational institute for the gifted serves as a place of education that fosters the gifted child's cognitive development and simultaneously it is where she can form positive relationships with her peers, as well as being a place of emotional comfort.

초등과학 영재 학생의 영재 학급에 대한 효과성 조사 (A Survey on the Effect for the Science Gifted Class of Gifted Student in Elementary)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine about science gifted class student's effect of education for the science gifted class. For this, 21 item-questionnaires were given to 292 students at the 4th, 5th and 6th graders in 3 elementary gifted schools located in Incheon. The results of this study were as follows: First, science gifted students were positive in effect of gifted class. This was more positive as class is low. Second, gifted students are thinking that it is helped to own learning that study at gifted class in cognitive side but appeared relatively low regarding school record or utterance, study method, thinking faculty, creativity. Third, they did not think that is exerting a lot of effects about own habit that study, interest, pride in emotional side. Fourth, they thought that is effective in relation with new friends more than teachers and parents in sociocultural side. Fifth, in private tutoring side they thought that is not influencing to solve academy taking a course of decrease.

과학에 대한 태도, 성취동기, 또래관계, 부모의 과학영재교육에 대한 태도 분석-과학영재와 과학성적우수 일반학생들을 중심으로 (An Analysis of the Attitude Toward Science, Achievements Motivation, and the Peer Relationship, and Parents' Attitudes to Science Gifted Education)

  • 본 연구에서는 과학영재교육원에 지원하여 교육을 받고 있는 과학영재 학생들과 지원하지 않은 과학성적우수학생들을 대상으로 과학에 대한 태도, 또래집단척도, 성취동기, 부모의 과학영재교육에 대한 태도 등을 조사하였고, 각 검사별로 두 집단의 성별에 따른 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 과학영재 학생들은 과학에 대한 태도, 성취동기, 또래집단척도, 부모의 과학에 대한 태도 모두에서 성별에 따른 유의미한 차이가 전혀 없는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 과학성적우수 일반학생에서는 성별에 따라 약간의 차이를 보였는데, 특히 부모의 과학에 대한 태도에서 확연한 차이를 보이고 있어 부모의 인식과 태도가 자녀의 과학에 대한 영재교육원 선택 및 진로선택에 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이에 과학에 대한 사회적 인식의 변화가 절실히 필요하며, 법적 제도적 장치 등의 지원이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

발명 영재를 지도하는 교사의 어려움과 지원 방안 연구 (Research on Difficulties and Supporting Measures of Teachers Who Teach Gifted Students in Invention)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 발명 영재 지도교사가 겪는 어려움을 파악하고 이를 지원하기 위한 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 발명 영재 지도 경력 3년 이상의 교사 4명을 대상으로 사례연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 발명 영재 지도교사는 크게 교사 자신의 어려움, 학생 지도의 어려움, 학부모 관계의 어려움, 학교 관계의 어려움, 교육지원정과의 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 이에 대한 지원 방안으로는 지도교사에 대한 유인책을 강화 및 지속적인 연수 실시, 영재 학생 선발 과정 개선, 학부모의 발명 영재에 대한 인식 개선, 학교 관리자의 인식개선, 일관되고 지속적인 행정 운영 등이 제시되었다.

독자적 연구에서 나타난 수학영재의 수학적 행동특성 분석 (Analysis on mathematical behavior characteristics of a mathematically gifted student in independent study)

  • According to Krutetskii, the education of mathematically gifted students must be focused on the improvement of creative mathematical ability and the mathematically gifted students need to experience the research process like mathematician. Independent study is highly encouraged as the self-directed activity of highest level in the learning process which is similar to research process used by experts. We conducted independent study as a viable differentiation technique for gifted middle school students in the 3rd grade, which participated in mentorship program for 10 months. Based on the data through the research process, interview with a study participant and his parents, and his blog, we analyzed mathematical behavior characteristics of a study participant. This behavior characteristics are not found in all mathematically gifted students. But through this case study, we understand mathematically gifted students better and furthermore obtain the message for the selection and education of the mathematically gifted students and for the effective method of running mentorship program particularly.
