The purpose of this study was to examine the path model of mothers' optimism, parenting behaviors and a child's optimism and the effects on their child's subjective well-being. The subjects of this study consisted of 331 pairs of mothers and their children from 5th and 6th elementary school students in Seoul. Data were gathered via four questionnaires on mothers' optimism reported by mothers and their parenting behaviors, child optimism, and child subjective well-being as reported by the children. Data were analysed by Structural Equation Model using AMOS 19.0. The results indicated the following, the hypothesized model yielded an acceptable model fit and most of the hypothesized path coefficients were found to be significant. Specifically, mothers' optimism and parenting behaviors influence their children's subjective well-being indirectly through children's optimism. It is concluded that the more optimistic the mothers, the more likely the children themselves will share that optimism and in turn, they will also have higher levels of subjective well-being.
Purpose: To understand the core elements and the effects of interventions on the improvement of parenting capabilities of unmarried mothers living in residential facilities, this study reviewed the literatures related to this concept. Methods: Five electronic databases (KISS, KMbase, KoreaMed, NDSL, and RISS) were searched, and eight studies were ultimately selected for the integrative review. Results: The interventions were categorized into two types: psychological intervention and sociocultural intervention. The core elements of the psychological interventions included cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and relational contents. Sociocultural aspects included raising personal skills for finding social support resources. Various studies showed the effects of intervention on efficacy, attachment, or parenting behavior. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, health promotion programs to improve maternal parenting competency for unmarried mothers living in residential facilities need to be developed and applied.
Objective: This study aims investigate the moderating effect of mothers' overprotective parenting in the influence of young children's competence, as determined by their temperament, on mastery motivation. Methods: An online survey was conducted on 429 mothers with children aged 3-5. The collected data was analyzed using K-means clustering in SPSS 23.0 and the Process macro Model 2. Results: Children's temperaments were categorized into four types : easy-active temperament, easy-inactive temperament, slow temperament, and difficult temperament. It was confirmed that children's competence directly affected their mastery motivation when they had easy-inactive, slow, or difficult temperament. It was also found that mothers' intrusive control had a direct main effect on object persistence when children had easy temperament, while there was no effect on mastery pleasure. The moderating effects of mothers' anxious protection on the pathway from children's competence to object persistence were significant only among children with a slow temperament. Conclusion/Implications: This study highlights the need for mothers to adapt their parenting behavior to their children's temperament type. The study confirmed partial moderating effects of mothers' overprotective parenting in the influence of children's competence, as determined by their temperament, on mastery motivation.
Objective: The study looked at the relationship between the mother's adult attachment, the children's problematic behavior and the mother's nurturing attitude. In doing so, this study tried to determine whether the mother's nurturing attitude would play a moderating role in the context of the effect of mother' adult attachment on the children's problematic behavior. Methods: we surveyed 352 mothers of 3~5 year old infants who were financially dependent on day care centers. Results: The problematic behavior of being daunted is high when mothers' adult attachment of avoidance is high and when mothers have low level of controlling pattern in their nurturing of their children. The problematic behavior of anxiety and depression was observed when adult attachment of anxiety was high and low level of controlling pattern in their nurturing. Meanwhile, when the externalized problematic behaviors were examined, no interaction effect of mothers' adult attachment and nurturing pattern was observed in all sub-levels of the children's externalized problematic behaviors. Conclusion/Implications: We could see how the influence of parenting attitude appears in mothers with unstable adult attachment. In addition, mothers with unstable adult attachment may be able to confirm that the quality of the interaction of the parent-child relationship and the form of the child's problem behavior differ according to the level of the mother's parenting attitude in the child's problem behavior. The results of this study showed that mothers with unstable adult attachment differed in the form of problem behaviors of infants according to mother's parenting attitude in infant problem behaviors.

This study investigated the influence of parenting attitudes and parenting efficacy on parents' educational needs to establish basic data for educational programs and intervention strategies to promote parenting attitudes and parenting efficacy among married immigrant women. This was a study of descriptive correlation among 154 married immigrant women with adolescent children. The results showed that family support and spousal support influenced parenting behavior and stress associated with childcare. Specifically, spousal support and family support were negatively correlated (r = 0.046, F = 3.629 p < 0.05) with parenting attitude (r = 0.046, F = 3.629 p < 0.05). Only spousal support was negatively correlated (r =0.227, F = 7.11 .<.01) with stress from children. Moreover, higher support from the spouse and family was associated with lower parenting stress and higher spousal support was associated with lower stress associated with the relationship with the child. The results of this study will facilitate development of a structured education program for married immigrant women to enhance parenting attitudes, as well as to reduce parenting stress.

This was a descriptive analyzed study, data were collected from April 3 to 14, 2017, study subjects were 208 nursing students in nursing colleges located C and I city, using self-reported questionnaires. The results of the study showed the mean scores of Helicopter parenting and critical thinking were $73.94{\pm}13.88$, $113.30{\pm}12.33$. And learning motivation, cognition, behavior were consisted in learning competence, learning cognition (F=3.62, p=.014) and learning behavior (F=4.07, p=.008) were statistically significant differences in school score. Helicopter parenting and critical thinking were a significant negative relationship (r=-.14, p=.043), according to critical thinking of learning cognition (r=.43, p<.001) and behavior (r=.42, p<.001) were a significant positive relationship. Based on the results, they were taken a baseline data for developing a Parent-Parenting Education Program to enhance on critical thinking and learning competence of nursing students and a Clinical Nursing Empowerment Program.
This study was conducted on mothers with infants to identify the relevant factors affecting parenting stress and depression, and to verify the effectiveness of the beauty therapy program on parenting stress and depression. After conducting a self-administered survey of 450 mothers with infants under 36 months old in Busan city from May 1 to 20 May, 2018 through convenient sampling method, the final analysis of 402 women. In addition, experimental research through one group pretest-posttest design was also conducted on 17 people to verify the effectiveness of the beauty therapy program on parenting stress and depression. The multiple regression analysis showed that the higher appearance-management behavior, the less parenting stress and depression. Also, parenting stress and depression after participating in beauty therapy programs are significantly reduced compared to those before participating in beauty programs. This study could confirm that beauty therapy program is one of the effective measures to improve women's mental health and self-esteem.
In order to explore the impact of gender in the effects of age, temperament, and parenting on preschoolers' psychosocial problems, 339 preschoolers, 3-5 year old, were assessed using parent report measures of externalizing and internalizing behavior problems, temperament, and parenting. The results of ANOVA and hierarchical regression analyses are as follows. First, the main effects of age and gender for externalizing problems and the interaction effect of age and gender for internalizing problems were significant. Second, the important predictors of preschoolers' internalizing and externalizing problems were different by gender. In boys, Novelty Seeking(NS), Harm Avoidance(HA), and hostile parenting significantly predicted both problems. In girls, NS, HA, and warm parenting significantly predicted both problems. In addition, girls were more strongly influenced by parenting whereas boys were more influenced by their temperaments. The results of this study highlight some important suggestions for prevention strategies for preschoolers' behavioral problems. The implications and limitations of this study were further discussed.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of parent-adolescent relationship and marital conflict perceived by adolescents on peer victimization. The subjects were 353 middle school students selected from two middle schools in the Incheon area. The instruments of research included the peer victimization index, the parenting behavior index, the parent-adolescent communication index, and the marital conflict inventory. The statistics used for this data were t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. This study showed that middle school student's peer victimization was influenced significantly by the gender. Correlation analysis indicated that parenting behavior and peer victimization were significantly correlated. That is, oppressive, over protective and/or permissive attitudes of the parent were positively correlated with peer victimization. Intimacy and reasonable attitude were negatively correlated with middle school student's peer victimization. Also, parent-adolescent communication and peer victimization were significantly correlated. Especially, open communication was negatively correlated with peer victimization while problematic communication was positively correlated with peer victimization. Marital conflict perceived by adolescents was positively correlated with peer victimization. It was also found that gender, oppressive attitude, permissive attitude, open communication, and marital conflict were significant predictors of middle school student's peer victimization.
A three-year longitudinal design was employed to ascertain whether different types of behavioral inhibition(i.e. traditional, peer-social) were stable from toddler to preschool age(2-4 year), and whether inhibited temperament and/or parenting style would independently and interactively predict children's subsequent social and behavioral outcomes. At time 1, 113 toddlers (55 males, 58 females) and their mothers were observed in the traditional inhibition paradigm. At time 2, 36 4-year-old children were observed with unfamiliar peers in the nontraditional inhibition paradigm. Maternal ratings of psychological functioning of children and maternal behaviors were also obtained for both time 1 and 2. Results showed that behavioral inhibition was not stable from toddler to preschool age. Maternal authoritative behaviors at age 2 were negatively associated with preschooler's social reticence. Toddler's behavioral inhibition was negatively associated with maternal authoritative behaviors at age 4. In a cross-lag correlation analysis, maternal authoritative behaviors appeared to affect child's behavioral inhibition more strongly than the other way around.
