An analytical finite element approach to nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete shear walls with opening under monotonic loading was presented in this paper. In order to achieve the objectives of present paper, the orthogonal anisotropic models for cracked reinforced concrete element based on smeared crack concept were used as the nonlinear material models of biaxial state of stress. The stiffness of cracked concrete was evaluated through the combined use of tension and compression stiffness models in and parallel directions of crack, respectively and shear transfer effect due to the aggregate interlocking at crack surface. The stress and strain of reinforcement in concrete was evaluated using the average stress and average strain relation with bond effect. based on smeared crack concept. The diagonal reinforcing bar was modeled using truss element with bond effect. A special significance of diagonal reinforcement near opening was given to the shear wall with opening and an effective distribution of diagonal reinforcement was presented in order to give an ultimate strength increment as well as a crack control.
The transmission of harmonic vibratory power form a vibrating rigid body into a supporting plate through passive and active isolators is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical model allows for the transmission of vertical and horizontal harmonic forces and moments about all three coordinate sun. The experiment is to use vibration actuators attached to the intermediate mass of the two-stage mount to minimize the rotational and translational vibration of the intermediate mass. The performance is done by measuring the vibration at the error sensors due to the primary vibration source and measuring the transfer functions from the control sources to the error sensors. Results show that over a frequence range from 1 to 100Hz, transmission into the supporting plate can be reduced substantially by employing in parallel with existing passive isolators, active isolators adjusted to provide appropriate control force amplitudes.

A new large-scale network geometric analysis is introduced. For a large-scale circuit, it must be analyzed with a geometric diagram and figure. So many equations are induced from a geometric loop-node diagram. The results are arranged into a simple matrix, of course. In case of constructing a network diagram, it is not easy to handle voltage and current sources together. Geometric loop analysis is related to voltage sources, and node analysis is to current sources. The reciprocal transfer is possible only to have series or parallel impedance. If not having this impedance, in order to obtain equivalent circuit, many equations must be derived. In this paper a loop-reduction method is proposed. With this method current source branch is included into the other branch, and disappears in circuit diagram. So the number of independent circuit equations are reduced as much as that of current sources. The number is not (b-n+1), but (b-n+1-p). Where p is the number of current sources. The reduction procedure is verified with a geometric principle and circuit theory. A resultant matrix can be constructed directly from this diagram structure, not deriving circuit equations. We will obtain the last results with the help of a computer.
During the last decade, the exploration of nanoscale device and circuitry based on molecules has gained increasing interest. In parallel with this, considerable effort is being devoted to the development of molecular photonic/electronic materials based on various porphyrin arrays. This involves light as an input/output signal and excitation energy migration as a mechanism for signal transmission. Absorption of a photon at the light collector end of the porphyrin array yields the excited state, which migrates among the intervening pigments until reaching the emitter, whereupon another photon is emitted. As a consequence, it is relevant to understand the excitation energy transfer (EET) processes occurring in various forms of porphyrin arrays for the applications as artificial light harvesting arrays and molecular photonic/electronic wires. Since the excitonic (dipole) and electronic (conjugation) couplings between the adjacent porphyrin moieties in porphyrin arrays govern the EET processes, we have characterized the EET rates of various forms of multiporphyrin arrays (linear, cyclic, and box) based on various time-resolved spectroscopic measurements. We believe that our observations provide a platform for further development of molecular photonic/electronic materials based on porphyrin arrays.
The city of Basra, established on the shore of Basra Bay in the south of modern Iraq, played an important role in agriculture and trade for centuries, with its geography and its position where two great rivers of Mesopotamia flow. Before being established with its current name by the Muslim Arabs, the city was known as Teredon in the Chaldean period and VehiŞtebad ErdeŞir in the Sasanid period. It was reestablished with the name Basra in the early period of Islam by Arabs between Hijri 14-16 (635-637 CE). Afterward, the city became one of the most important centers of trade, science and thought; had a perfect cultural diversity; and hosted important schools of Arabic language and thought for centuries. Besides the commercial effects of its being a transfer point on the axis of Europe, Mesopotamia, Iran, and India, the schools of thought which emerged here were affected by this mobility. In this paper, we try to reveal the philosophical-religious approach which the Ikhwan al-Safa school of thought in Basra, one of the most important cities of the Silk Road, created in parallel with the characteristics of this city. Shiite Ismaili beliefs and thoughts in the region and its characteristics which feed different religions and traditions emerging from Egypt and with the scientific approach of Greek thought; with Indian-Iranian teachings that merge Greek thought and Neoplatonic philosophy, give us the summary of Silk Road civilizations.
In this study, fire simulations were performed to analyze the characteristics of the fire driven flow and the effects of the platform screen door on the smoke flow in the station, when the fire occurred in the center of the platform. Soongsil Univ. station (line number 7, 47m in depth underground) was chosen which was the one of the deepest underground subway stations in the Seoul metro, SMRT. The parallel computational method was employed to compute the heat and mass transfer eqn's with 6 CPUs of the linux clustering machine. The fire driven flow was simulated with using FDS code in which LES method was applied. The Heat release rate was 10MW and The Ultrafast model was applied for the growing model of the fire source. The 10,000,000 structured grids were used.

Performance of an air-cooled plate heat exchanger (PHE) was evaluated in this study. The PHE was manufactured in two types of single-wave and double-wave plates in parallel assembly. The heat exchanger aims to substitute open-loop cooling towers with closed-loop water circulation, which guarantees cleanliness and compactness. In this study, prototype single-wave and double-wave PHEs were designed and tested in a laboratory scale experiments. From the tests, the double-wave PHE shows approximately 50% enhanced heat transfer performance compared to the single-wave PHE. However, the double-wave PHE costs 30% additional pressure drop. For the commercialization, a wide channel design for air flow would be essential for performance and reliability.
A 150 kJ compact capacitive pulsed power system (CCPPS) capable of delivering electrical energy into an electrothermal chemical (ETC) gun on a vehicle has been studied. The CCPPS provides pulsed electrical energy into a capillary plasma injector which generates plasma of tens of thousands $^{\circ}K$ in temperature and has a nonlinear resistance depending on the current. The design requirements of the CCPPS are as follows: the maximum power of 250 MW, the pulse width of about 0.6 ms, the volume of no more than 0.5 cubic meter, the efficiency of energy transfer over 80 % and the repetition rate of 4~5 times per minute. The constructed CCPPS is composed of four 37.5 kJ capacitor bank modules in parallel to make a trapezoid pulse shape and to satisfy the design requirements. Each module is designed to achieve high reliability, safety, efficiency and energy density to endure severe operating conditions. The results of the performance test on the CCPPS using a 120 mm ETC gun are described.

In this paper, we design a sequential system controller, which is capable of processing parallel sequence, on the basis of analysis of control specification described by Petri Net with incidence matrix. The sequential system controller consists of input conditioning unit and petri net control unit which is composed of the token control unit and firing unit. The firing unit determines the firing condition of the transfer signal on the basis of the token status of token control unit. By the proposed scheme, we can easily develop and implement the sequential system controller of automated warehousing system, automated transportation system, elevator system, and so on, as it is possible to modify control specification by changing simply the content of incidence matrix ROM and to expand easily functional capacity as the result of modular design.design.

In this paper, we propose a method that search the sweet spot of antenna beam, and keep it for fast speed transmission in millimeter wave on point-to-point link We use TDD(Time Division Duplex) as transfer method, and it transfers the control data of antenna. The proposed method is composed of two ADALINE which used the parallel. The efficiency of the proposed method is verified by means of simulations with white Gaussian noise and not on point-to-point link.
