The purpose of this study is to develop the basic patterns of adult womens brassiere therewith, provide for some basic data useful to the brassiere manufacturing which are both functional and fitting. For this purpose, 220 adults women(aged between 20 and 59) were sampled to be measured for their body sizes and tested for their brassiere wearing. The collected data were statistically processed using the SAS 6.12 for Means, Standard Deviation, etc. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. In order to develop the basic patterns of adult womens brassieres, 75A size was selected out of 12 size combination(3 women per 75A size) and then, their brassiere fitting was tested. As a result, the fronts of the basic patterns were found to have such problems as undone front center, poor levelling of upper cups bottom line or lower cups top line, poor shape of upper cups outside top line and shoulder strip position. On the other hand, n the rear side of the basic patterns, the central part of the wing was slightly lifted, while the wing width and straps interval did not befit the full-cup brassiere. The result of this first brassiere fitting test showed that the functionality and aesthetics of the basic pattern brassieres were more or less satisfactory, and thus, the problems were address for the second test. In the second test, the aesthetics, breast-shaping effect and functionality of the basic pattern brassieres were much improved. 2. The basic patterns of adult womens brassieres were characterized by a round cup wired as well as a full cup embracing the entire breasts. Each basic pattern which consisted of upper and lower cups was shaped \"straight(-)\". The basic sizes adopted at the first design stage (see fig. 1-2) was 75A of which was designed as upper foundation basic pattern. At the second stage, the upper body foundation pattern were used to design lower cup, upper cup, front panel and wing in their order.(see fig. 3-5, fig. 8)5, fig. 8)
This study aims to suggest the patternmaking method of men's slim-fit four-panel jacket sloper in their 30's. The researcher collected four kinds of existing slopers and carried out appearance and movement evaluations twice. Then the researcher's sloper was developed by modifying and supplementing the existing sloper with high scores in the evaluations. The results are as follows: First, when comparing the existing slopers, ease on the chest varied from 13 cm to 17.8 cm. Actual measurements or formula method were used for the armhole depth, waist line, and hip line. It was one-third of armhole length for the sleeve cap height in most existing slopers. Second, the researcher's sloper had excellent scores in the appearance and movement evaluations (front neck depth, ease on the chest, front dropped length, ease on the sleeve cap, and the position that separate the two piece sleeves on the back). Third, the suggested sloper, has 13~14 cm for ease in the chest circumference and 2.5 cm for front dropped length. It sets to chest/4+2 cm for armhole depth, height/4+1 cm for waist line placement, and height/8 for hip length. The sleeve cap height is one-third of armhole length. These results will be useful when the industrial technical designers develop various jacket patterns.
The study is to develop and present a leggings pattern that is suitable for the human body by using a standard body type avatar for a female in her 30s. As a research method, the average body type was selected from adult women in their 30s, and the appearance was evaluated using the CLO software program. The data analysis of this study compared the dimensions and shape of each part by legging. The leggings pattern suggested based on the above research results was determine to be a total length of 80.6cm and hip length of 24cm, and the knee length was set by dividing the legging in half from the waist to the hem and then adding 5cm. These figures were evaluated higher than Company D in terms of the adequacy of the upper part of the front and rear plates of Company A as well as the adequacy of the knee lines. Company A's figures were applied and corrected. For the front plate, the waist circumference was divided by 4, and 3.5cm was removed, and the hip circumference was set by dividing the hip circumference by 4, and 3.8cm was removed. In the appearance evaluation results Company D was highly evaluated in the suitability evaluation of the waist and hips, and the waist and hips were set using the pattern of Company D. The length of the front panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 4 and adding 1.8cm to the length, and the length of the back panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 3 and adding 8cm after dividing the hip circumference by 0.8cm.
In the present work a rigid-plastic finite element formulation using dynamic explicit time integration scheme is proposed for numerical analysis of auto-body panel stamping processes. The rigid-plastic finite element method based on membrane elements has long been employed as a useful numerical technique for the analysis of sheet metal forming because of its time effectiveness. A damping scheme is proposed in order to achieve a stable solution procedure in dynamic sheet forming problems. In order to improve the drawbacks of the conventional membrane elements, BEAM(abbreviated from Bending Energy Augmented Membrane) elements are employed. Rotational damping and spring about the drilling direction are introduced to prevent a zero energy mode. The lumping scheme is employed for the diagonal mass matrix and linearizing dynamic formulation. A contact scheme is developed by combining the skew boundary condition and the direct trial-and-error method. Computations are carried out for analysis of complicated auto-body panel stamping processes such as forming of an oilpan, a fuel tank and a front fender. The numerical results of explicit analysis are compared with the implicit results with good agreements and it is shown that the explicit scheme requires much shorter computational time, especially when the problem becomes more complicated. It is thus shown that the proposed dynamic explicit rigid-plastic finite element method enables an effective computation for complicated autobody panel stamping processes.
The characteristic of sheet metal process is the few loss of material during process, the short processing time and the excel lent price and strength. The sheet metal process with above characteristic is common used in industrial field, but in order to analysis irregular field problems the reliable and economical analysis method is demanded. Finite element method is very effective method to simulate the forming processes with good prediction of the deformation behavior. Among Finite element method, the static-implicit finite element method is applied effectively to analyze real-size auto-body panel stamping processes, which include the forming stage. In this paper, it was focused on the drawing ability factors on auto-body panel stamping by AUTOFORM with using tool planning alloy to reduce law price as well as high precision front Design Optimization of die. According to this study, the results of simulation will give engineers good information to access the Design Optimization of die.
This study analyzes the interior noise that is generated during acceleration of a passenger car in terms of car body structure and panel contribution. According to the transfer method, interior noise is classified into structure-borne noise and air-borne noise. Structure-borne noise is generated when the engine's vibration energy, an excitation source, is transferred to the car body through the engine mount and the driving system and the panel of the car body vibrates. When structure-borne noise resonates in the acoustic cavity of the car interior, acute booming noise is generated. This study describes plans for improving the car body structure and the panel form through a cause analysis of frequency ranges where the sound pressure level of the rear seat relative to the front seat is high. To this end, an analysis of the correlation between body attachment stiffness and acoustic sensitivity as well as a panel sensitive component analysis were conducted through a structural sound field coupled analysis. Through this study, via research on improving the car body structure in terms of reducing rear seat noise, stable performance improvement and light weight design before the proto-car stage can be realized. Reduction of the development period and test car stage is also anticipated.
To investigate the effect of illumination conditions on visual inspection performance for TV panel glasses, three dependent variables, inspection time, error, and preference , were measured and analyzed through two consecutive experiments. The first experiment for reflection inspection was conducted using two independent variables, position and brightness. The second experiment for transparent inspection was made using two independent variables, height and brightness. The summary of the results of the experiment for reflection inspection are as follows ; The inspection performance of the position right above the subject (Position 1) was the best among the conditions in terms of errors, while the performance of the position slightly in front of and above the subject(Position 2) was the best in terms of inspection times. Inspection time was statistically different according to the brightness conditions specifically at the position in front of the subject(Position 3). The results of the second experimen for transparent inspection are that the inspection performance at medium height (Height 2) was the best among the three conditions in terms of errors while the performance at lower height(Height 3) was the best in subject preference. Based upon both results with respect to actual field conditions, two alternative inspection station designs were proposed for each lighting conditon.
In some previous studies, the effect of the microcapillary hole structure in the front dielectric layer was introduced. There have not yet been any report, however, on the detailed study on the discharge characteristics of the hole type, and on the optimization of the microscale hole size. In this study, the discharge characteristics of the microscale hole types in the front dielectric layer in plasma display panels were investigated through plasma numerical simulation. The numerical analysis discussed in this work may shed more light on the discharge mechanism. The modification of the structure of microscale holes is expected to improve the driving voltage and luminance, which may have been due to more energetically charged particles and Xe-excited species, which may in turn have been due to an expanded sheath electric field in the vicinity of the microholes.
As the speed of technological changes increase with the investment requirements steadily expanding, private firms and government-funded research institutes experience similar pressures with respect to the necessity of risk reduction and technological alliances in R&D activities. This paper first attempts to review previous research in managing R&D projects with large, risky, and long-term investment requirements. Our primary focus is placed on the "fuzzy front-end" (FFE) projects with uncertainties at the investigation and planning stages. We analyze various elements that create FFE conditions, classify them into basic constructs, and suggest tools and methods to deal with FFE conditions. The findings suggest that both initial FFE conditions and the effectiveness of FFE management affect the performance of the project later on, and thus, especially for large projects, we must deal with FFE seriously in a comprehensive manner. We utilize in-depth panel interviews and case studies to approach the research questions.
In recent automotive industries there has been significant increase in applications of computer simulation to the manufacturing of stamping dies for inner and outer body panels which greatly affect durability and aesthetic quality of automobiles. Enhancement of die quality and reduction of total die manufacturing time and consequently manufacturing cost are the visible outcome. However to successfully apply the result of simulation by a commercial package to the die manufacturing development of an optimal die manufacturing process is required upon the completion of analysis of forte and shortcoming of available sheet metal forming softwares. Based on the results of numerical analysis of front door outer panel forming. this paper evaluates the applicability of simulation results to the real die manufacturing for automotive body panels. Also it attempts to select an optimal die manufacturing process including design machining and tryout. Lastly it discusses the expected effects by adopt-ing the selected process in a real stamping die manufacturing facility.
