The vector controlled induction motor(I.M) with speed sensor has been widely used for variable speed drive systems. In these application fileds, speed sensorless control are expected strongly to progress reliability, simplicity and cost performance of I.M and to expand its application part. This paper describes a novel speed sensorless control method of I.M based on feedforward quick torque response control technique. Especially, this paper aimed at the realization of sensorless control in the very low speed region, The proposed method can be formulated simply from a motor circuit equation and conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and a voltage command at every sampling time. Throughout some results of numerical simulations with the assumption of using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage source inverter, the validity of the method was successfully confirmed.
Traction control suppresses the spinning of the driven wheel during drive away or acceleration on slippery road condition. In this study, the estimation method of brake pressure hardly measured is proposed. The estimation method of brake pressure and the brake pressure control with pulse width modulation(PWM) are verified a good performance through experiment. Also, the vehicle simulation on slippery road conditions is validated the applicability of brake pressure control for traction control. The simulation results have showed that the brake pressure can be used the control variable for traction control.

In the conventional PWM converter, high-frequency switching techniques was used for high-density of energy, but occurred a lot of problems such as switching losses, switching voltage/current stresses, EMI(Electromgnetic Interference) and so on. To overcome these problems, various soft switching techniques have been presented. However these techniques are focused on reducing switching losses and voltage/current stresses . The simulation and experimental results are shown that the active clamp ZVS flyback converter with the proposed RPWM(Random Pulse Width Modulation) technique reduces the conducted noise.

This paper proposes an LCL-filter design for space vector pulse width modulation (SVM) in grid-connected three-phase inverter systems. Although there are a several studies in progress, the existing methods are erroneous because they do not focus on the other switching methods. This paper presents the design methodology for an LCL-filter that is optimized for SVM switching operations. The design procedure for the LCL-filter is presented step-by-step. The inverter-side inductor was determined by an analysis of the ripple components, mathematically. Based on the reactive power absorption ratio, the filter capacitor was determined. The grid-side inductor was determined by the ripple attenuation factor of the output current. Experimental results verify the validity of the design method for the LCL-filter.
A high-performance rectifier is introduced in this study. The proposed rectifier combines the conventional pulse width modulation, soft commutation, and instantaneously average line current control techniques to promote circuit performance. The voltage stresses of the main switches in the rectifier are lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies. Moreover, conduction losses of switches in the rectifier are certainly lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies because the power current flow path when the main switches are turned on includes two main power semiconductors and the power current flow path when the main switches are turned off includes one main power semiconductor. The rectifier also adopts a ZCS-PWM auxiliary circuit to derive the ZCS function for power semiconductors. Thus, the problem of switching losses and EMI can be improved. In the control strategy, the controller uses the average current control mode to achieve fixed-frequency current control with stability and low distortion. A prototype has been implemented in the laboratory to verify circuit theory.

A new soft recovery pulse width modulation quasi resonant converter composed only passive devices snubber network is proposed. This passive devices snubber network is revised form of folding snubber network that suppressed the reverse recovery current of main rectify diode in PWM converter. It also makes the MOSFET switching devices operate in soft state. The efficient of the proposed converter is almost same level to that of the converter of active snubber type. The overall circuit is simple and easy to realized. Therefore, it is suitable to apply to middle range output power source.
A new asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) half bridge converter with improved ZVS performance is proposed. The ZVS operation of the proposed converter can be maintained from no load to full load conditions since the magnetizing current of the transformer contributes to the ZVS operation at light loads without considerable conduction loss of the transformer and switch. Synchronous rectification is employed to reduce the rectification loss. Operational principles, large signal modeling, ZVS analysis and design equations are presented. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed converter can achieve a large ZVS range and significant improvement in efficiency for a 100W (5V, 20A) prototype converter.
In this paper, an improved dead time compensation method which is concerned about dead time and extra time in Pulse-Width-Modulation(PWM) period is presented comparing the existing dead time compensation. The voltage drop across the switches are modeled excluding effect of stray capacitor. A low pass filter(LPF) is adopted for accurate detecting of current polarity. The method is based on Space-Vector-Pulse-Width-Modulation(SVPWM). All simulation results are presented using MATLAB and Simulink.

This paper describes a new pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme suitable for microprocessor-based PWM inverters. Optimal switching patterns minimizing the performance index corresponding to the distortion factor are decided in real time by numerical calculation using the microprocessor-implemented control system. This PWM method is compared with conventional methods, such as the natural PWM and the direct PWM. Harmonic analysis using digital simulations shows that the proposed PWM scheme has much less low-order harmonics than the other methods. The validity of this method is verified in experiments using a microprocessor-based control system, where a 16-bit single-chip microcontroller, Intel 80c196kc is used.
