Antifungal Properties of Self-actuated Photocatalyst Coated PU Foam (자기구동형 광촉매 코팅에 의한 PU발포체의 항곰팡이 특성)

  • In this study, self-actuated photocatalyst that titanium dioxide doped by more than two transition metal was coated PU foam. The antibacterial and antifungal activity of self-actuated photocatalyst coated PU foam was characterized without light. The antibacterial property of self-actuated photocatalyst coated PU foam was shown to be reduced more than 96%, and the antifungal property was shown to be reduced more than 99.9%. The durability of self-actuated photocatalyst coated PU foam tested by Weather-O-meter showed the 7% reduction of formaldehyde decomposition from 96.5% before test to 89.8% after test. The observation of surface of PU foam coated with self-actuated photocatalyst showed that the catalyst was firmly attached to the surface of polyester fiber without separation.

Physical properties of PU coated fabric with collagen (콜라겐을 첨가한 폴리우레탄 코팅직물의 물성)

  • The demand for PU coated synthetic leather is increasing as a high fashion material. But it has some faults of water vapor permeability surface tacky property and static electricity. Therefore the purpose of this study was the produce of PU coated fabric added collagen with hydrophilic property and soft touch. In the PU coated fabric water vapor permeability water vaper absorption and frictional electronic voltage were investigated surface bending and compression properties were also examined by the use of KES-FB System. The followings were the results of this study. 1. There was no Cr in the collagen so that Cr was not treated in the collagen. 2. The surface and cross sectional layer of PU coated fabric with collagen were highly developed by micro porous structure. 3. The water vapor permeability of PU coated fabric was increased as collagen concentration increased. 4. The water vapor absorption of PU coated fabric was increased as collagen concentration increased. 5. The frictional electronic voltage of PU coated fabric was decreased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration. Especially it effectively decreased by the use of only 5% collagen concentration. 6,. The bending and compression properties of PU coated fabric were increased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration so that it became stiff. 7. The Value of MIU, SMD was decreased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration so that the PU coated fabric became smooth.

Frictional Sound Characteristics of vapor Permeable Water Repellent Fabric according to Finishing Methods at Different Frictional Speeds (투습발수 가공방법에 따른 직물의 마찰 속도별 소리 특성)

  • 본 연구는 가공방법이 다른 투습발수직물의 마찰 속도별 직물마찰음의 소리특성과 주관적 평가간의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 스포츠웨어용 투습발수직물 중 가공방법이 다른 4 종(PU 건식코팅, PU습식코팅, 시레가공, 라미네이팅)의 나일론 100% 시료를 대상으로 실험하였다. 마찰속도의 상세 설정이 가능한 직물소리 시뮬레이터 v. 4.0으로 제어가 되는 직물마찰음 발생장치를 사용하여 직물마찰음을 발생시켜 녹음하였다. 직물의 마찰 속도는 동작(walking, jogging, running)시 팔과 몸통 사이의 마찰속도를 분석하여 이 속도에 따라 직물마찰음을 발생시켰고, Sound quality system으로 7 가지(SPL, ${\triangle}L$, ${\triangle}f$, Loudness(Z), Sharpness(Z), Roughness(Z). Fluctuation Strength(Z)) 소리특성을 분석하였다. 주관적 평가는 9 개의 형용사 쌍에 대해 의미미분척도로 평가되었다. 소리특성 분석 결과, 속도별 소리특성은 가공방법에 따른 차이 없이 walking 시가 가장 덜 시끄러운 소리가 발생하였고, 가공방법에 따라서는 마찰속도에 따라 약간 차이가 있지만 라미네이팅가공을 한 시료가 가장 날카로운 소리를 발생시켰다. 주관적 평가 결과, '거슬리는'과 '불쾌한'의 감성에 대해서는 walking, jogging, running의 순서로, 시레가공, 라미네이팅, PU건식코팅, PU 습식코팅의 순서로 증가하였다.

  • 본 연구는 환경친화적인 수용성 폴리우레탄 코팅 제품의 문제점인 끈적임, 내수압, 투습도 등의 물성저하 및 내구성 문제를 개선하기 위해 졸-겔법을 이용하여 구형의 실리카 나노졸을 제조한 후 이를 수용성 폴리우레탄과 혼합한 후 교직물에 코팅하여 그에 따른 물성 향상에 관한 연구이다.

  • With the developments in knitting, manufacturing, and polymers, coated gloves have been evolved in a way to maximize occupational safety and functionality. In this paper, we have considered the PU-coating process for the glove knitted by Dyneema to reduce the occurrence of the defects due to air bubble. This paper classifies the types of defect due to air bubble and traces their forming mechanisms. The air between coating layer of glove and mold's surface forms the defects if it is not evacuated fully in the process of submerging into water. The defects can be suppressed or avoided by forming air-evacuating path on the surface of the molds.

  • In the aircraft industry, anti- and de-icing are one of very important techniques for the safety. The anti-icing technique had not been studied while de-icing technique had been not only researched enough but applied to aircraft industry. In this work, surface roughness and energies of polyurethane (PU) topcoat were controlled with 3 different nanoparticles which was coated to PU topcoat. It was evaluated via static contact angle using distilled water. The adhesion property of 3 nanoparticles was evaluated directly using adhesion pull-off test. The color gamut of nanoparticle coated PU topcoat was also evaluated with 3 different nanoparticles. It was determined using RGB color degree variation between neat PU topcoat and coated nanoparticle. Finally, the optimized nanoparticle was determined to manufacture hydrophobic surface and to maintain color of neat PU topcoat for the aircraft.

  • Carbon nanotube buckypaper (CNTs-BP)/thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) elastomer composites were successfully fabricated. The CNTs-BP/PU nanocomposites exhibited simultaneous improvements in both tensile modulus and strength by 1360 and 430%, respectively, as compared to pure PU. Possible reinforcing mechanisms were evidenced by SEM analyses and tensile tests. The CNTs-BP/PU nanocomposites can be potentially used as an inter-reinforcing agent in ultra-lightweight, high-strength aircraft, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics, etc.

Development of the Functional Films Coated with Nano-TiO2 Particles for Food Packaging and Removal of Off-flavor from Soybean Sprouts (나노 TiO2를 적용한 식품 포장 필름 개발 및 콩나물의 이취 제거)

  • For testing the ultraviolet (UV)-blocking property of functional films coated with Nano-$TiO_2$ particles, UV-Vis spectra of oriented polypropylene (OPP) films uncoated and coated with $TiO_2$ of 3% and 5% in Polyurethane (PU) and polyvinyl butyral (PVB)-Cellulose binders were measured. The result of UV-Vis analyses showed that the film coated with 5% $TiO_2$ in PVB binders had a significant effect on UV protection of 90% compared with the film uncoated. Also The result of The photodegradation of methylene blue (MB), OPP films coated with 5% in both PU and PVB binders had a high photocatalytic activity for MB degradation. To evaluate the effect of the developed functional film coated with Nano-$TiO_2$ particles, fresh soybean sprouts were used. Nano-$TiO_2$ coated film was observed to decompose the off-flavor produced by soybean sprouts within packages during distribution, but uncoated film did not. Therefore, Nano-$TiO_2$ coated film package could give the greatest effect in extending the shelf life of soybean sprouts.

Synthesis and application of Hydrophilic Polyurethane for Water dilution (Water dilution이 가능한 표면처리 코팅용 hydrophilic PU 합성 및 응용에 관한 연구)

  • 통상적으로 코팅가공시 수지의 흐름성을 개선하기 위해서 코팅수지(점도 : 50,000~60,000 Cps)의 점도를 10,000 Cps 이하로 낮추어서 작업을 진행한다. 이때 MEK(Methyl Ethyl Ketone), TOL(Toluene), DMF(Dimethyl Formamide) 등과 같은 유기용제를 사용하여 점도를 조절한다. 본 연구는 기존에 표면처리 코팅용 수지 배합시 유기용제를 사용하는 대신 물을 사용하여 점도 조절이 가능한 표면처리 코팅용 hydrophilic PU 수지를 연구하였다. Prepolymer 법으로 합성한 수지가 One-shot법으로 합성한 수지보다 water dilution 안정성이 우수하며, 친수성 polyol과 소수성 polyol의 비율이 6/4정도가 될 때 water dilution된 수지의 안전성, 투습도 등의 물성이 가장 이상적으로 발현 되는 것을 확인 할수 있었고, 50part의 물과 희석 후 5일 이후에도 상분리가 되지 않음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 개발된 수지의 적용성을 평가한 결과, J-knife를 이용하여 knife over roll 방식으로 $200{\mu}m$의 gap으로 80/120/$140^{\circ}C{\times}10m/min.$의 다단건조 공정으로 진행했을 때 최적의 물성을 얻을 수 있었다.
