Remote Fuzzy Logic Control of Networked Control system in Profibus-DP

  • This paper focuses on the feasibility of fuzzy logic control for networked control systems. In order to evaluate its feasibility, a networked control system for motor speed control is implemented on a Profibus-DP network. The NCS consists of several independent, but interacting processes running on two separate stations. By using this NCS, the network delay is analyzed to find the cause of the delay. Furthermore, in order to prove the feasibility, the fuzzy logic controllers performance is compared with those of conventional PID controllers. Based on the experimental results, the fuzzy logic controller can be a viable choice for NCS due to its robustness against parameter uncertainty.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the tension control in a web transport system. Direct self-tuning regulator method was applied to tension controller and variable-gain PID control algorithm was applied to web speed controller. The designed controllers compensated for the time-varying parameters and tracked reference tension in process speed changing. The simulation shows that direct STR tension controller improves tension control performance in comparison with other controllers.

A Fuzzy Predictive Sliding Mode Control for High Performance Induction Motor Position Drives

  • This paper presents a fuzzy predictive sliding mode control for high performance induction motor position drives. A new simplified inner-loop sliding-mode current control scheme based on a nonlinear mathematical model of an induction motor is introduced. Novel predictive fuzzy logic PI and PID controllers are used in speed and position loops, respectively. Sliding-mode current controllers and fuzzy predictive logic controllers are designed based on indirect vector control. The overall system performance is examined under different dynamic operating conditions. The performance of the drive system is robust and stable, and insensitive to parameters and operating condition variations even though non-exact system parameters are used in the implementation of the proposed controllers.

  • This investigates the feasibility of applying fuzzy ogic controllers to the motion tracking control of a direct drive robot manipulator to deal with highly nonlinear and time-varying dynamics associated with robot motion. A fuzzy logic controller with narrow shape of membership functions near zero and wide shape far away zero is analyzed. Simulation and experimental studies have been conducted for a 2 degree of freedom direct drive SCARA robot to evaluate control performances, Fuzzy logic controllers have shown control performances that are often better, or at least, as good as those of conventional PID controllers. Furthermore, the control performance of fuzzy logic controllers can be improved by selecting membership functions of narrow shapes near zero and wide shapes far away zero.

  • PID(Proportional, Integral, Derivative) controller is the most popular process controllers in nuclear power plants. The optimized parameter setting of the process controller contributes to the stable operation and the efficiency of the operating nuclear power plants. PID parameter setting is tuned when new process control systems are installed or current process control systems are changed. When the nuclear plant is shut down, a lot of PID tuning methods such as the Trial and Error method, Ultimate Oscillation method operation, Ziegler-Nichols method, frequency method are used to tune the PID values. But inadequate PID parameter setting can be the cause of the unstable process of the operating nuclear power plant. Therefore the results of PID parameter setting should be simulated, optimized and finally verified. This paper introduces the simulation method of PID tuning to optimize the PID parameter setting and confirms them of the actual PID controller in the operating nuclear power plants. The simulation method provides the accurate process modeling and optimized PID parameter setting of the multi-loop control process in particular.

세포성 면역 알고리즘을 이용한 AGV의 조향 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (Design of Steering Controller of AGV using Cell Mediate Immune Algorithm)

  • The PID controller has been widely applied to the most control systems because of its simple structure and east designing. One of the important points to design the PID control system is to tune the approximate control parameters for the given target system. To find the PID parameters using Ziegler Nichols(ZN) method needs a lot of experience and experiments to ensure the optimal performance. In this paper, CMIA(Cell Mediated Immune Algorithm) controller is proposed to drive the autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) more effectively. The proposed controller is based on specific immune responses of the biological immune system which is the cell mediated immunity. To verify the performance of the proposed CMIA controller, some experiments for the control of steering and speed of that AGV are performed. The tracking error of the AGV is mainly investigated for this purpose. As a result, the capability of realization and reliableness are proved by comparing the response characteristics of the proposed CMIA controllers with those of the conventional PID and NNPID(Neural Network PID) controller.

PID 제어기를 이용한 호버링 AUV의 구현과 자세 제어 (Implementation of Hovering AUV and Its Attitude Control Using PID Controller)

  • An attitude controller for a 6-DOF hovering autonomous underwater vehicle (HAUV) is implemented. We add a vertical thruster, an underwater camera, a wireless communication device, and a DVL to the HAUV that was developed a year ago. The HAUV is composed of 5 thrusters, 2 servo-motors, and 4 apparatus parts. Two rotating thrusters control the surge, heave, and roll of the vehicle. The vertical thruster controls the pitch, and two horizontal thrusters control the sway and yaw of the vehicle. The HAUV’s movement in each direction is controlled by 6 PID controllers. Each PID controller controls the propulsive force and angle of a thruster. In a horizontal and vertical movement experiment, we showed the feasibility of the proposed controller by maintaining a given depth and heading angle of the HAUV.

  • This Paper deals with a Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Controller used in real time and its application for induction motor. The control strategy of the controller is able to develop and improve automatically. The new Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Control algorithm which modifies the fuzzy control decision table is presented in this paper. It can automatically refine an initial approximate set of fuzzy rules. The possibility of applying fuzzy algorithms in faster response, and more accurate was compared with other industrial processes, such as AC Motor driver. The performance of Proportional_Integral Derivative(PID) control and this fuzzy controllers is compared in terms of steady_state error, settling time, and response time. And then, Limitations of fuzzy control algorithms are also described.

  • 원전증기 발생기 수위제어용 두개의 퍼지 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 즉, 증기 및 급수유량사용이 가능한 고출력 경우와 이들의 사용이 불가능한 저출력시등 용도를 분리하여 별도의 알고리듬으로 개발한 것이다. 이들 알고리듬은 고출력시의 경우 PID형태의 제어기로 변환시켰고 저 출력시의 경우 2차함수 형태의 제어기로 변환시켰다. 이들제어기는 한국원자력 연구소 보유 Compact Nuclear Simulator에서 각각 4개의 모의 운전을 통하여 실험하였다. 실험결과, 두 경우 모두 Simulator에서 사용되고 있는 PID제어기에 비하여 약 50%의 제어량으로 수위곡선 및 유량차이의 총 변화량이 절반이하가 되도록 제어가 가능했다. 고출력의 경우, 이는 수위 및 유량등을 입력으로 하는 PI제어기 대신 같은 입력의 PD제어기를 속도 알고리즘으로 사용한 점이 근본적인 차이로 볼 수 있으며 저 출력시의 경우는 수위를 입력으로 하는 PI제어기 대신에 적은 비율의 'I'성분을 포함하는 PID제어기를 사용하였으며 'D'성분입력과 제어기 출력에 각각 평균간을 사용한 것이 주 차이점이라 할 수 있다.

퍼지제어 셀을 이용한 퍼지논리제어기의 조직적인 설계방법 (Systematic Design Method of Fuzzy Logic Controllers by Using Fuzzy Control Cell)

  • 본 연구에서는 국부적인 퍼지제어 셀(fuzzy control cell:cell)을 도입하여 계산량 감소를 달성하고, 추론과정을 선형근사화한 조직적인 설계를 통하여 선형제어 이론을 FLC의 실용적인 면에 접목하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 확률밀도함수 형태의 멤버쉽함수(membership function)와 선형화된 제어공간이 얻어지도록 전반적인 제어방 책을 결정한 다음, 주어진 상태에 가장 지배적(dominant)인 규칙을 갖는 몇 개의 대표 점을 찾아서 그 점들로 구성된 퍼지제어 셀을 생성하고, 퍼지연산을 생성된 셀에서만 수행하여 알고리즘과 계산을 단순화시킨다. 평가기준을 공평함에 두어서 조건부연결 어 'AND'에 T-norm인 대수곱을 적용하여 적합도를 취하고, 규칙들의 작용이 병렬발화 라는 관점으로 규칙연결어 'ALSO'는 'AND'의 공액인 'OR'에 해당되는 대수합연산 대신 에 확률측도와 유사한 산술평균을 적용하여 퍼지추론을 한다. 그리고, 각각의 제어 규칙에 대하여 퍼지추론한 결과와 그것의 평균중심을 곱하여 통합한 후, 무게중심법으 로 역퍼지화하여 일반화된 제어값을 얻는다. 이 값을 PID제어기를 이용하여 구현한 디지틀 보상기를 통과시켜 시스템에 한 제어를 얻는 조직적인 방법을 제안한다.
