High performance speed control of induction motor using load torque observer (부하 토오크 관측기를 이용한 유도전동기의 고성능 속도제어)

  • In this thesis, a new speed control algorithm based on the load torque observer theory is pro¬posed for the high performance speed control of a voltage source inverter to drive a 3 - phase induction motor. The proposed system becomes robust against disturbances using a feed -- for¬ward control of the load torque estimated at load torque observer. Computer simulation and experimental works using the proposed control confirm that transient response for the varia¬tion ofload torque becomes improved, compared with the conventional PI control method.

  • In the autonomous vehicle, the reference lane is continually detected by machine vision system. And then the vehicle is steered to follow the reference yaw rates which are generated by the deviations of lateral distance and the yaw angle between a vehicle and the reference lane. To cope with the steering delay and the side-slip of vehicle, PI controller is introduced by yaw rate feedback and tuned from the simulation where the vehicle is modeled as 2 DOF and 79 DOF and verified by the results of an actual vehicle test. The lateral control algorithm by yaw rate feedback has good performances of lane tracking and passenger comfort.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of a general structured observer and presents an estimation algorithm for a system with external disturbances which are added to the input of the system. By using a disturbance model, the general structured observer can estimate the states of the system is spite of disturbances, where the system is affected from external disturbances. Also, the general structured observer can include the function of a PI observer or high gain observer by properly adjusting the observer's gain matrices. The existence condition for the observer is derived, which can be checked by the system's observability condition and the pole-zero cancellation of the system's polynomial matrix. Through a numerical example, it is verified that the proposed observer is effective estimating the system and the input disturbance.

  • In this paper, the boost converter was implemented by digital control in many applications of the step-up. The PWM(pulse width modulation) control module of boost converter was digitized at power converter using the FPGA device and VHDL. The boost converter was designed to output a fixed voltage through the PI control algorithm of the PWM control module even if input voltage and output load are variable. The boost converter was digitized can be simplified by reducing the size of the module and the external control components. Thus, the digital power IC has advantageous for weight reduction and miniaturization of electronic products because it can be controlled remotely by setting the desired output voltage and PWM control module. The boost converter using the digital power IC was confirmed through experiments and the good performances were showed from experiment results.

  • BLDC motor is widely used in automation areas for its good maintenance and controllability. In this paper it is designed for a speed control servo system of sinusoidal typo BLDC motor that can be easily adapted to automation systems with lower cost. Also, control parameters & periods are made adjustable according to the sensors of the motor, electric and mechanical time constant, and PI and PD control are used. The processor for the proposed system is a low cost 16bit One-Chip microprocessor. By experimental results from application to the industrial sewing machine, one of the application of BLDC motor, it can be verified that under the given reference, the system is enough as a speed and position servo without overshoots.

  • In this paper, the idea of using a multiple symbol obervation interval to improve error probability performance is applied to differential detection of MTCM(multiple trellis code modulation) with ${\Pi}$/4 shift QPSK, 8DPSK and 16DPSK. We propose two types of sliding multiple symbol differential detection algorithm, type 1 and type 2. The two types of sliding detection scheme are examined and compared with conventional(symbol-by-symbol) detection and bolck detection with these modulation formats in an additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) using the Monte Carlo simulation. We show that the amount of improvement over conventional and block detection depends on the number of phases and the number of additional symbol intervals added to the observation. Computer simulagtion results are presented for 2,4,8 states in AWGN channel.

  • Hydromagnetic flow in a confined enclosure under a uniform magnetic field is studied numerically. The thermally active side walls of the enclosure are kept at hot and cold temperatures specified, while the top and bottom walls are insulated. The coupled momentum and energy equations associating with the electromagnetic retarding force as well as the buoyancy force terms are solved by an iterative procedure using the SIMPLER algorithm based on control volume approach. The changes in the flow and thermal field based on the orientation of an external magnetic field, which varies from 0 to $2{\pi}$ radians, are investigated. Resulting heat transfer characteristics are examined too.

  • DC series wound motor is commonly used for the industrial vehicles. Although it has good operating torque, heavy variations of parameters and nonlinear properties on friction and loads make it difficult to satisfy desired performance using conventional controllers. To solve this problem, fuzzy controller is proposed in this paper. The fuzzy controller has been designed based on the fuzziness of variables, it retains robustness even with nonlinearity.

  • In offset or intaglio printing machine, it's operated with combination of blanket cylinder and impression cylinder. The blanket cylinder has some number of grooves to attach the blanket on surface. In case of operating the printing machine, it has generate mechanical impact noise when the two cylinders encounter with the grooves. So, in this study, we developed a printing pressure control algorithm with hydraulic servo control system. We also proposed simulation model of experimental device to analysis the throw on force response of hydraulic servo actuator. Finally, we have reduced the mechanical impact noise and improved printing quality with a groove detecting signal and PI control of hydraulic servo actuator.

  • In this paper, the simulation methods using transmission lines are studied and realized, which are necessary in design and analysis of hydraulic control systems. The basic idea of this method is that system components are separated by transmission line element for simulation. The PI-controller can keep inductance level as low as desired. It can also handle nonlinearities and discontinuities without flag signal when restarting integration. Parallel hydraulic circuits are simulated using parallel processing algorithm. To shoe that using variable timestep size in each subsystem, simulation time can be reduced. Performance of the simulation results is compared with that of Runge Kutta method.
