  • The application for PDA as a new wireless Internet device is variously developed to improve the function of PDA, and the application software must be installed to PDAs. In addition. when the power supply of PDA becomes fully discharged, all data stored in the RAM (Random Access Memory) could be vanished, and then the application programs should be reinstalled. This paper presents an automatic installation system of application program, PAIS (PDA Automatic Installation System). It is designed to solve the problem of PDA that PDA's users have to install the application programs on their PDA themselves. When this engine is applied, PDA users can save the time and effort for installation. It's convenient for the PDA users. The PDA and application software company can save the cost to create materials to explain the installation process.

  • In this study, we tried to implement a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)-based audiometric system to test hearing disorder. Due to the inherent handy nature of PDA system, our hearing test system can be easily performed in a local environment and consequently the measured audiometric data are stored and queryed via a built-in a PDA database system.

  • In this paper, a mobile banking system which can provide banking services is introduced. Since a PDA has excellent features like a small-size computer and provides mobility, it has been widely used by salesmen. Therefore, if general banking services can be provided with PDA by using wireless technology, it will be very useful. In addition, it is easy to develop and maintain the client software of PDA because it uses Windows-based operation systems. In this paper, a PDA banking system is introduced. The system is designed and developed based on the techniques of wireless network, security and PDA programming to be used for mobile banking and a prototype system is developed. Moreover, we used the object-oriented modeling technique, UML and Java Beans for programming.

  • This paper represents the mobile robot system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance). So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by PDA. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • Home automation system is a demo which is capable of remote monitoring and control on PDA device (which was) programming used by LabVIEW PDA module in embedded system. Every operation program is composed of LabVIEW. And each embedded system is made of self-operating mode without any wiring of PC. This home automation system is controlled by LabVIEW of PDA through Wireless LAN(802.11b).

  • This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.

  • This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance).   • A nonlinear control algorithm for the depth control of underwater vehicles is presented. In order to consider the deadzone effect of the flow control valve, a nonlinear fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is synthesized and combined with a linear proportional-derivative-acceleration (PDA) controller, which is called the PDA/FLC controller. And to show the effectiveness of the PDA/FLC control system, it is compared with the linear PDA control system through computer simulation. It is found that the PDA/FLC control system is suitable one to maintain the desirable depth of underwater vehicles with deadzone.
