Proposal of PC Core System for Modular Housing (모듈러주택 적용을 위한 PC코어 시스템 제안)

  • Modular construction is popular as a smart building system because it can shorten the construction period. This study proposed a precast concrete (PC) core system that can further shorten modular construction time. The system was developed and its structural performance was verified through computational analysis. The proposed PC core system is a complete PC construction method using dry bonding. The results of the study indicated that the proposed PC core system has structural stability and performance suitable for modular housing.

  • 한국전기통신공사는 현재의 전화망이 데이터통신을 활성화하는데 제약요소가 많다고 보고 향후 데이터통신의 경쟁체제에 대처키 위한 기반을 조성하고 데이터통신을 제2의 전기 통신사업으로 발전 육성시킬 목적으로 데이터통신 시범망을 구축키로 했다. 공사의 시범망 구축계획은 체신부의 PC 1,000만대 보급을 통한 정보이용의 활성화계획 추진과 데이터통신이 경쟁체제및 국제화, 미국의 데이터통신 시장개방 압력의 가중, 법적 규제 완화 추세로 가고 있는 배경에 기인한다. 통신공사는 시범기간동안 데이터통신 이용에 알맞는 통신망 개발자료 수집과 요금체제 개발을 추진하고 요금체제 정립전 및 정보처리용 통신 노드구축전까지 기존 시설을 활용하여 데이터통신 활성화를 도모할 방침이다.

  • As logistics facilities have a high ceiling height, simple structure, and the need for a quick return on investment, it is usually essential to advance the construction schedule of such facilities. Accordingly, PC structures, which require less labor, cost and schedule, can be more competitive than RC structures. However, most construction companies in Korea are familiar with RC structure design, have negative perceptions regarding PC structures, and do not sufficiently adopt new construction techniques. The structure that this research features has 110 columns that are 14 m high and are built to the same specification, and applying an RC design to the structure will lead to issues related to constructibility, economic viability, project duration and safety. Therefore, this study intends to feature PC design as an alternative to the RC warehouse design, and perform a comparative analysis of the reduction in labor, cost and construction schedule to highlight benefits. The research outcomes herein will provide inputs to subsequent studies on new construction strategies to advance the construction schedule, improve quality and constructibility, enhance safety and save costs.

  • Most of studies on PC method aim at the structural analysis and development of PC members, and studies on the construction management aspect are insufficient. Therefore, this study tries to investigate 'hallow PC column composite method(HPC composite method)' from the viewpoint of construction management and analyze the construction cost of the composite method. On the assumption that each comparative method was applied to the zone, the difference in construction cost between the two methods was analyzed. As a result, HPC composite method increased the initial investment cost because of its factor technology, but reduced transport cost, lifting cost, and installation cost through lightweight columns. This study analyzed only the difference in construction cost of HPC composite method so that it has the limitation in evaluating its economy. Therefore, to evaluate the economy of HPC composite method, it is considered to research more the construction cost of HPC composite method.

  • Because of the shortage of construction workers due to The rising labor costs and an aging labor force, construction time has been extended. As a solution, The construction time of high-rise buildings can be reduced by adopting precast concrete construction methods. Most relevant studies have focused on the development and structural analysis of such methods and not on their construction management. Therefore, this study focused on the construction management of the hollow precast concrete column (HPC) method. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of HPC formulations through the analytic hierarchy process and benefit-cost analysis. After a gap analysis of the available literature and expert interviews, the evaluation criteria were selected. A questionnaire survey was administered to professionals with ample experience in precast concrete construction for the pair-wise evaluation of the benefit and costs of the HPC method. The results show that the benefits of the HPC method outweighed its costs. Therefore, the HPC method is a suitable substitute for the half-slab method.

  • Recently, OSC (off-site construction) construction has been revitalized as a response to the decline in building quality and productivity due to lack of skilled manpower at construction sites, and PC (precast concrete) construction, a representative OSC construction, is insufficiently applied to public housing.This is the situation.In addition, in the case of general contents appearing in standard specifications, the construction standards for quality assurance remain in the 1990s and do not correspond to the current construction environment.In order to improve the quality of PC member joints, we compared and analyzed Korean and Japanese specifications to establish appropriate standards for PC construction quality control, focusing on the quality of grout used in joints.

  • With the amendment to the Building Act in November of 2005 that offered incentives in terms of floor area ratio and number of stories to apartment buildings adopting the Rahmen structure to facilitate remodeling, the construction industry is paying more attention to PC structures. As connections between PC columns and beams require complex design, it is very difficult to install and remove forms. Since forms made of plywood for such connections are fabricated and installed on site, a significant amount of labor is required, and constructability is low. Furthermore, after concrete casting, the forms are removed in a state in which they cannot be recycled, which leads to a significant amount of construction waste. For this reason, a solution to address such issues needs to be studied. However, many researchers have focused only on the structural performance of PC structures in Korea and elsewhere, ignoring the need for research on the forms used in building PC structure connections. Therefore, this research aims to develop a form that can improve the productivity of PC structure connection construction, and compare it with conventional forms to highlight its contribution to gains in productivity and economic viability.
