The surface morphology and the proferred orientation of the Pb-Sn alloy electrodeposite were investated by the change of electrolysis conditions in pulse current electroplating. The preferred orientation of Pb-phase in alloy deposits was changed in the sequence of (110)longrightarrow(100)or(100)+(111)longrightarrow(111) with increasing peak current density, while that of $\beta$-Sn phase changed from (321)+(301)to(301)+(111) mixed orientation. The surface morphology was closely related to the preferred orientation of alloy electrodeposits. The alloy deposits, which had (100)or(111) for pb-phase and (321)or(100)(301)for $\beta$-Sn sespectively, showed the surface structure of granular crystallites. The alloy deposits whih mixed orientations for both phases had microstructure of closely the closely stacked crysrallites, which was inclined to the surface.

K2NiF4-type organic-based perovskites of the (C4H9NH3)2FexPb1-xCl4 (x=0.00, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75) system have been synthesized using a low-temperatu re solution method under a flowing argon gas. When stoichiometric butylamine, iron chloride, and lead chloride are mixed, a yellow solution are obtained from slow cooling of 90 to -10 $^{\circ}C.$ The final product is a plate-like yellow crystal. The X-ray crystallographic analysis has been carried out using XRD in the range of $5^{\circ}{\leq}$ 2${\theta}$${\leq}80^{\circ}.$ The local symmetry around the absorbing Pb atom of the samples has been determined by the EXAFS spectroscopic study. The crystals assign to orthorhombic system by the XRD analysis. The FT-IR spectra are analyzed in the range of 600 to 3300 cm-1 . DSC and TGA are measured to detect thermal stability between 30 and 300 $^{\circ}C.$ Two endothermic peaks are detected in all samples. The electrical conductivity has been measured using the four-probes technique for the (C4H9NH3)2FexPb1-xCl4 system in 300-460 K. Photoluminescence phenomenon was also investigated at room-temperature.
Metal halide perovskite materials are considered as promising semiconducting materials for next-generation solar cells due to their unique electrical and optical properties. Intensive progress in perovskite solar cell yielded a certified power conversion efficiency over 24%. However, most of highly efficient perovskite solar cells required Pb-based perovskite materials, which is a critical obstacle for their commercialization, and development of Pb-free perovskite materials is one of recent urgent issues in this field. In this paper, we will introduce recent research progress on Pb-free perovskite solar cells.

In order to evaluate the distributions of colloidal $^{210}Pb$ (half life = 22.2 years) and $^{210}Po$ (half life = 138 days) in subterranean estuary, we have measured $^{210}Pb$ and $^{210}Po$, for the first time, in the total dissolved (< $0.45{\mu}m$), true dissolved (<10 kDa), and colloidal ($10kDa-0.45{\mu}m$) phases in subterranean estuary of Hampyeong Bay in July 2010 and of Jeju Island in January 2011. The $^{210}Pb$ and $^{210}Po$ activities in groundwater were in the ranges of $0.21-2.52mBqL^{-1}$ and $0.12-2.07mBqL^{-1}$ for true dissolved phase and $0.10-1.71mBqL^{-1}$ and $0.03-0.97mBqL^{-1}$ for colloidal phase, respectively. The proportions of the colloidal phase to the total dissolved phase were $40{\pm}5%$ for $^{210}Pb$ and $28{\pm}5%$ for $^{210}Po$ in groundwater. This result indicates that colloids may play an important role in transporting trace elements through subterranean estuary into the coastal ocean.
The Namwon and Sunchang granites are neighbouring plutons intruding the Yeongnam massif and the Okcheon metamorphic belt, respectively in the southwestern part of the Korean peninsula. In this study, SHRIMP zircon U-Pb ages are determined from these plutons. The results show that the emplacement age of the Namwon granite is $185.8{\pm}0.9(2{\sigma})$ Ma. We obtained $175.0{\pm}2.0(2{\sigma})$ Ma from the northern part and $179.8{\pm}0.9(2{\sigma})$ Ma from the central part of the Sunchang granite, yielding $177.4{\pm}1.3(2{\sigma})$ Ma as the average age of the pluton. Such age results confirm that the Honam shear zone, which cause marked deformation of the Sunchang granite, was active after ca. 175 Ma.
The dielectric properties and phase transformation of poled <001>-oriented $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-x%PbTiO_3$(PMN-x%PT) single crystals with compositions of x = 20, 30, and 35 mole% are investigated for orientations both parallel and perpendicular to the [001] poling direction. An electric-field-induced monoclinic phase was observed for the initial poled PMN-30PT and PMN-35PT samples by means of high-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction. The monoclinic phase appears from $-25^{\circ}C$ to $100^{\circ}C$ and from $-25^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$ for the PMN-30PT and PMN-35PT samples, respectively. The dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}$)-temperature (T) characteristics above the Curie temperature were found to be described by the equation$(1/{\varepsilon}-1/{\varepsilon}_m)^{1/n}=(T-T_m)/C$, where ${\varepsilon}_m$ is the maximum dielectric constant and $T_m$ is the temperature giving ${\varepsilon}_m$, and n and C are constants that change with the composition. The value of n was found to be 1.82 and 1.38 for 20PT and 35PT, respectively. The results of mesh scans and the temperature-dependence of the dielectric constant demonstrate that the initial monoclinic phase changes to a single domain tetragonal phase and a to paraelectric cubic phase. In the ferroelectric tetragonal phase with a single domain state, the dielectric constant measured perpendicular to the poling direction was dramatically higher than that measured in the parallel direction. A large dielectric constant implies easier polarization rotation away from the polar axis. This enhancement is believed to be related to dielectric softening close to the morphotropic phase boundary.
The species of four heavy metals (Cr, Cu, Ni and Pb) associated with sediments (viz exchangeable, carbonates, reducible, organic and residual fractions) were determined with respect to the particle sizes and depths at four locations of the lower Kumho river. In the exchangeable fraction, 3.7~19.52% of Ni and 2.8~14.81% of Pb were found, and in the carbonates fraction 2.12~19.43% of Ni and 1.39~15.42% of Pb were found. The reducible fraction retained about 8.66~44.93% of Cr, 0.41~9.79% of Cu, 17.38~35.74% of Ni and 9.5~44.89% of Pb. In the organic fraction about 0~21.06% of Cr, 2.95~35.74% of Cu, 0~14.66% of Ni and 0~10.65% of Pb were found. The residual fraction retained about 52.6~83.53% of Cr, 63.86~86.39% of Cu, 39.66~66.16% of Ni and 39.97~71.75% of Pb. The order of release or mobility of heavy metals was Ni > Pb > Cr > Cu. Mobile fraction of heavy metals by particle sizes (1.0~0.5 mm and 0.5~0.25 mm) was found to be higher in particle sizes 1.0~0.5 mm than that of 0.5~0.25 mm. The release or mobility of heavy metals by depths (0~5 cm, 5~10 cm and 10~15 cm) was found to be higher in the upper sediments than in the lower sediments, except Cu.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to examine the possible changes over the past ten years in the estimated daily dietary lead intake (Pb-D) stemming from the variation of daily intake amounts for each food group. The following factors were considered; 1. time trends in Pb-D as the estimated values, 2. the time trend in Pb-D by food groups 3. the most influential food groups for dietary Pb intake. Methods: Estimated Pb-D was drawn from food consumption according to food groups reported in the Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey and the lead contents of each food group as reported in 23 prior publications. Results: The estimated Pb-D in a 2009 survey was 40.8 ${\mu}g/day$, of which 22.5 ${\mu}g/day$ (55.1%) was of plant origin and 18.3 ${\mu}g/day$ (44.9%) was of animal origin. Meats and poultry, fish and shellfish among foods of animal origin and beverages of plant origin had the largest contribution in Pb-D among the food groups. Conclusion: Over past ten years, daily lead intakes have slightly increased among men. Otherwise, no clear variation is apparent among women.
Effects of B$_2$O$_3$and CuO addition on the microwave dielectric properties of the PbWO$_4$-TiO$_2$ceramics were investigated in order to use this material as an LTCC material for fabrication of a multilayered RF passive components module. We found that PbWO$_4$could be used as an LTCC material because of its low sintering temperature (8$50^{\circ}C$) and fairy good microwave dielectric properties($\varepsilon$$_{r}$=21.5, Q$\times$f$_{0}$=37200 GHz and $\tau$$_{f}$ =-31 ppm/$^{\circ}C$). In order to stabilize $\tau$$_{f}$ of PbWO$_4$, TiO$_2$was added to the PbWO$_4$and the mixture was sintered at 8$50^{\circ}C$. A near zero $\tau$$_{f}$ value (+0.2 ppm/$^{\circ}C$) was obtained with 8.7 mol% TiO$_2$addition. $\varepsilon$r and Q$\times$f$_{0}$ values were 22.3 and 21400 GHz, respectively. It was believed that the decrement of Q$\times$f$_{0}$ value with TiO$_2$addition was resulted from increasing grain boundary. In order to improve Q$\times$f$_{0}$, various amounts of B$_2$O$_3$and CuO were added to the 0.913PbWO$_4$-0.087TiO$_2$mixture. The optimum amount of CuO was 0.05 wt%. At this addition, the 0.913PbWO$_4$-0.087TiO$_2$ceramic showed $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=23.5, $\tau$$_{f}$ =-2.2ppm/$^{\circ}C$, and Q$\times$f$_{0}$=32900 GHz after sintered at 8$50^{\circ}C$. In case of B$_2$O$_3$addition, the optimum amount range was 1.0~2.5 wt% at which we could obtain following results; $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=20.3~22.1, Q$\times$f$_{0}$=48700~54700 GHz, and $\tau$$_{f}$ =+2.4~+8.2ppm/$^{\circ}C$.
