Content Analysis of Food and Nutrition Unit in High School Textbooks of Home Economics: Focus on the National Curriculums from 7th to 2015 Revised (고등학교 '기술·가정' 교과 식생활 영역의 교육내용 분석: 제7차 교육과정부터 2015 개정 교육과정까지의 교과서 내용을 중심으로)

  • This study is focused on the examination of changes in textbooks of Home Economics in High school from 7st to 2015 curriculum, especially the 'Food and Nutrition section. We investigated the content elements of the National Curriculum Guide, the changes in learning contents, and the number of pages of Food and Nutrition section. The key words were extracted and the connective relationships between words were visualized using a method of language network analysis through word cloud and Semantic Network Analysis. According to the results of the research, the portion of the Food and Nutrition section has been gradually decreased on the Technology·Home Economics, following the development of the curriculum. Through the whole curriculum, 'invitation', 'Korean food', 'baby·nutrition' are appeared as key words. The education contents of Food and Nutrition section from the 7th to 2015 revised have been developed and advanced with the changes of social needs. However, the reduction of portion and insufficiency of content elements of Food and Nutrition section bring concerns toward the decline of the quality of education on dietary life.

  • HTML5-based Web platform is established as a next-generation national standards, Web services provider, has been competitively develop support technology HTML5-based app in smart media devices and smart TV. In accordance with the W3C is an international Web standards development organization, Microsoft, Apple, Mozilla, Google, such as Opera, various Web browser vendors are participating in standardization. Gradually emphasized the importance of HTML5, HTML5 -based Web pages, it is necessary to fast load times when contained a large amount of information. Therefore, in this paper, the initial studies in order to reduce the loading time of a web page, configure each browser-specific same Web page, and measure the initial loading time. Also, one by one remove the HTML5 tags, and CSS property, to analyze the tags and attributes of the account for a large proportion to the initial load time. Through the results, it is desired to provide a process which can reduce the Web page.

Clustering of Web Objects with Similar Popularity Trends (유사한 인기도 추세를 갖는 웹 객체들의 클러스터링)

  • Huge amounts of various web items such as keywords, images, and web pages are being made widely available on the Web. The popularities of such web items continuously change over time, and mining temporal patterns in popularities of web items is an important problem that is useful for several web applications. For example, the temporal patterns in popularities of search keywords help web search enterprises predict future popular keywords, enabling them to make price decisions when marketing search keywords to advertisers. However, presence of millions of web items makes it difficult to scale up previous techniques for this problem. This paper proposes an efficient method for mining temporal patterns in popularities of web items. We treat the popularities of web items as time-series, and propose gapmeasure to quantify the similarity between the popularities of two web items. To reduce the computation overhead for this measure, an efficient method using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is presented. We assume that the popularities of web items are not necessarily following any probabilistic distribution or periodic. For finding clusters of web items with similar popularity trends, we propose to use a density-based clustering algorithm based on the gap measure. Our experiments using the popularity trends of search keywords obtained from the Google Trends web site illustrate the scalability and usefulness of the proposed approach in real-world applications.

Data allocation and Replacement Method based on The Access Frequency for Improving The Performance of SSD (SSD의 성능향상을 위한 접근빈도에 따른 데이터 할당 및 교체기법)

  • SSD has a limitation of number of erase/write cycles and does not allow in-place update unlike the hard disk because SSD is composed of an array of NAND flash memory. Thus, FTL is used to effectively manage SSD of having different characteristics from traditional disk. FTL has page, block, log-block mapping method. Among then, when log-block mapping method such as BAST and FAST is used, the performance of SSD is degraded because frequent merge operations cause lots of pages to be copied and deleted. This paper proposes a data allocation and replacement method based on access frequency by allocating PRAM as checking area of access frequency, log blocks, storing region of hot data in SSD. The proposed method can enhance the performance and lifetime of SSD by storing cold data to flash memory and storing log blocks and frequently accessed data to PRAM and then reducing merge and erase operations. Besides, a data replacement method is used to increase utilization of PRAM which has limitation of capacity. The experimental results show that the ratio of erase operations of the proposed method is 46%, 38% smaller than those of BAST and FAST and the write performance of the proposed method is 34%, 19% higher than those of BAST and FAST, and the read performance of the proposed method is 5%, 3% higher than those of BAST and FAST, respectively.

An Analysis of Analogies in Chemistry Content of Middle School Science Textbooks and High School Chemistry Textbooks Developed under the 2009 Revised National Curriculum (2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 중학교 과학 교과서의 화학 영역과 고등학교 화학 교과서에 사용된 비유의 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed the analogies in the chemistry domain of 27 middle school science textbooks and 8 high school chemistry textbooks developed under the 2009 Revised National Curriculum. A total of 284 analogies (science, 143; chemistry, 141) were identified from the textbooks, which means that 8.11 analogies (science, 5.3; chemistry, 17.6) per textbook and 0.68 analogy (science, 0.66; chemistry, 0.70) per 10 pages were used on average. Compared with previous curricula that the number of analogies gradually increased, the use of analogy was found to be somewhat decreased in the 2009 Revised National Curriculum. The number of analogies found in each textbook considerably varied depending on course, unit, and publishing company. One hundred ninety one different kinds of analogies were used, among which 38(19.9%) were used over twice. Further analyses of the types of analogies indicated that verbal and pictorial analogy, analogy with abstract target and concrete analog, and enriched analogy were frequently used. However, the term 'analogy' and the description about the limitation of the analogy were rarely mentioned. Artificial analogy, teacher-centered analogy, and analogy with low systematicity were also found to be frequently used. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

  • In an attempt to teace trands in fashion journalism based on the examination of recent fashion magazines in korea, this study has dealt with the followings: the number of articles on fashion, image of fashion, characteristics of articles, change in "coordinate" and titles, and length of time of publication. The results of this study follow: 1. Among the general magazines for ladies whose titles have been changed, those dedicated to the "Ms class" have increased the pages on fashion and coverage of casual brand: those for housewives have shown no change in contents despite the change in titles, 2. The length of time of publication does not affect the change in the number of articles on fashion. General magazines for ladies have shown the greater "coordinate" in articles on fashion. 3. In terms of the contents of articles on fashion, those devoted to fashion and clothing are specialized and innovation-oriented, whereas general magaines stress the provision of more practical information. 4. The emergence of the X-generation and the newer generation has resulted in positioning of clothing crand, making them chief tarhet readers.ing them chief tarhet readers.

  • In rural area, our farmers confront decreasing benefits owing to imported crops and increased cost. Recently, the government encourage the 6th Industry that merges farming, rural resources, and information and communication technology. Therefor the government makes an investment in supplying 'smart greenhouse' in which a farmer monitor growing crops and environment information to control growing condition. The objective of this study is developing an Moving Monitor and Control System for crops in green House. This system includes a movable sensing unit, a controlling unit, and a server PC unit. The movable sensing unit contains high resolution IP camera, temperature and humidity sensor and WiFi repeater. It rolls on a rail hanging beneath the ceiling of a green house. The controlling unit contains embedded PC, PLC module, WiFi router, and BLDC motor to drive the movable sensing unit. And the server PC unit contains a integrated farm management software and home pages and databases in which the images of crops and environment informations. The movable sensing unit moves widely in a green house and gathers lots of information. The server saves these informations and provides them to customers with the direct commercing web page. This system will help farmers to control house environment and sales their crops in online market. Eventually It will be helpful for farmers to increase their benefits.

Lecture Note of a Thoracic Surgeon, Fifty More Years Ago (50여년 전 한 흉부외과 의사의 강의록)

  • The late Professor Lee CB (1915~1967) was one of the pioneers in the early stages of thoracic surgery in Korea while he was in charge of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Seoul National University hospital as the first director from 1957 until he died of liver cancer in 1967. He was a graduate from the old Seoul National University, and he dedicated himself to the field of lung surgery after he joined the army during the Korean War, which broke out in 1950. Among his many contributions to pulmonary surgery, he performed the first partial lung resection in Korea in 1953. His lecture notes were recently found. These lecture notes for medical students were written by hand in late 1950s, Considering the content and form of the lecture notes, they are thought to have very significant historical value. The lecture notes were a total of 277 pages on general thoracic surgery and cardiovascular surgery with 75 self-drawn figures. This study was intended to facilitate a better understanding of the history of thoracic surgery in Korea, and especially for young thoracic surgeons. These notes may well contribute to the field of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in Korea.

  • A mobile device like ceil phone is the necessity of modern people, of ich con be easily connected to a wireless internet through such a mobile device. The demand for a wireless data communication is growing rapidly. However, agencies have not yet completed standardization of a markup language. Due to the development of the Mobile Device, agencies in this field have provided different data formats with each Mobile Device Platform. Traditionally, contents is hand-tailored to suit the target device. A key problem is that the characteristics and capabilities of the mobile device are too diverse to service the most suitable mobile contents. Because of these problems, the need for a re-usable document description language increases. In this paper, we defined Template file that is common data to service mobile devices. We proposed a method that could be an effective wireless web service though design and the implementation of the Call manager & the XSL Generator. In the methodology, when requesting a wireless internet service, a mobile device finds out markup language and a hardware specification of the mobile device through the Call Manager component supports. The XSL Generator component creates the XSL file dynamically that is the most suitable to a device. Finally, contents is serviced to each device by XSLT. It can generate a wireless page more easily by reusing the existing web contents through such course. Therefore, it can save the time and expense for generating a wireless page.

  • Purpose: The Hospice Oriented Medical Record (HOMR) was developed for assessing the pain and symptoms of terminal cancer patients. Methods and Results: The HOMR consists of an instruction for users and 2 assessment pages which include the graph showing vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate and pain score), current problem lists, performance status, laboratory data, pain characteristics and management, sedation score, associated symptoms and drug side effects, etc. Pilot study was performed in the inpatient Hospice Care Unit in Guro Hospital, Korea University Medical Center. Because an one-week progress data was recorded in HOMR as a flow sheet, the patient's condition and pain control status could be seen at a glance. Conclusion: The HOMR is useful for assessing the terminal cancer patients because it is simple and convenient to use. Further research is needed before it can be universally used in the clinical settings.
