Differentially expressed genes by 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) were identified in order to evaluate them as dioxin-sensitive markers and crucial signaling molecules to understand dioxin-induced toxic mechanisms in human bronchial cells. Gene expression profiling was analyzed by cDNA microarray and ten genes were selected for further study. They were cytochrome P450, family 1, subfamily B, polypeptide 1 (CYP1B1), S100 calcium binding protein A8 (calgranulin A), S100 calcium binding protein A9 (calgranulin B), aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family, member A3 (ALDH6) and peroxiredoxin 5 (PRDX5) in up-regulated group. Among them, CYP1B1 was used as a hallmark for dioxin and sharply increased by TCDD exposure. Down-regulated genes were IK cytokine, interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 1 (IFIT1), nuclease sensitive element binding protein 1 (NSEP1), protein tyrosine phosphatase type VI A, member 1 (PTP4A1), ras oncogene family 32 (RAB32). Although up-regulated 4 genes in microarray were coincided with northern hybridization, down-regulated 5 genes showed U-shaped expression pattern which is sharply decreased at lower doses and gradually increased at higher doses. These results introduce some of TCDD-responsive genes can be sensitive markers against TCDD exposure and used as signaling cues to understand toxicity initiated by TCDD inhalation in pulmonary tissues.
Cryptand resins have been synthesized from 1-aza-18-crown-6 macrocyclic ligand attached to styrene (2th petroleum in 4th class hazardous materials) divinylbenzene copolymer with crosslinkage of 1%, 2%, 10%, and 18% by substitution reaction. The synthesis of these resins was confirmed by the content of chlorine, element analysis, surface area (BET), and IR-spectroscopy. The effects of pH, time and crosslinkage on adsorption of metal ion from water fire extinguishing agentby synthetic resin adsorbent were investigated. Metal ions showed a great adsorption over pH 3 and adsorption equilibriumof metal ions was about two hours. The adsorption selectivity determined in water was in the increasing order of sodium ($Na^{1+}$) > zinc ($Zn^{2+}$) > chromium ($Cr^{3+}$) ion. The adsorption was in the order of 1%, 2%, 10%, and 18% crosslinkage resin.
Resins were synthesized by mixing 1-aza-15-crown-5 macrocyclic ligand attached to styrene (2th petroleum in 4th class hazardous materials) and divinylbenzene (DVB) copolymer with crosslinkage of 1%, 2%, 8%, and 16% by substitution reaction. The characteristic of these resins was confirmed by content of chlorine, element analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), surface area (BET), and IR-spectroscopy. The effects of pH, time, dielectric constant of solvent and crosslinkage on adsorption of metal ion by the synthetic resin adsorbent were investigated. The metal ion showed a fast adsorption on the resins above pH 3. The optimum equilibrium time for adsorption of metallic ions was about two hours. The adsorption selectivity determined in ethanol was in an increasing order of uranium $(UO_2^{2+})$ > lead $(Pb^{2+})$ > chromium $(Cr^{3+})$ ion. The adsorption was in the order of 1%, 2%, 8%, and 16% crosslinkage resin and adsorption of resin decreased in proportion to the order of dielectric constant of solvents.

To investigate the effect of the flexible artery wall on the blood flow, three-dimensional numerical simulations were carried out for analyzing the time-dependent incompressible flows of Newtonian fluids constrained by a flexible wall. The Navier-Stokes equations for fluid flow were solved using the P2P1 Galerkin finite element method, and mesh movement was achieved using an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation. The Newmark method was employed for solving the dynamic equilibrium equations for the deformation of a linear elastic solid. To avoid complexity due to the necessity of additional mechanical constraints, we used a combined formulation that includes both the fluid and structure equations of motion to produce a single coupled variational equation. The results showed that the flexibility of the carotid wall significantly affects flow phenomena during the pulse cycle. The flow field was also found to be strongly influenced by the bifurcation angle.
Every ring considered in the paper will be assumed to be commutative and have a unit element. An ideal A of a ring R will be called primal if the elements of R which are zero divisors modulo A, form an ideal of R, say pp. If A is a primal ideal of R, P is called the adjoint ideal of A. The adjoint ideal of a primal ideal is prime [2]. The definition of primal ideals may also be formulated as follows: An ideal A of a ring R is primal if in the residue class ring R/A the zero divisors form an ideal of R/A. If Q is a primary idel of a ring R then every zero divisor of R/Q is nilpotent; therefore, Q is a primal ideal of R. That a primal ideal need not be primary, is shown by an example in [2]. Let R[X], and R[[X]] denote the polynomial ring and formal power series ring in an indeterminate X over a ring R, respectively. Let S be a multiplicative system in a ring R and S$^{-1}$ R the quotient ring of R. Let Q be a P-primary ideal of a ring R. Then Q[X] is a P[X]-primary ideal of R[X], and S$^{-1}$ Q is a S$^{-1}$ P-primary ideal of a ring S$^{-1}$ R if S.cap.P=.phi., and Q[[X]] is a P[[X]]-primary ideal of R[[X]] if R is Noetherian [1]. We search for analogous results when primary ideals are replaced with primal ideals. To show an ideal A of a ring R to be primal, it sufficies to show that a-b is a zero divisor modulo A whenever a and b are zero divisors modulo A.
The present study focused on the potential mechanism of betulin (BT), a pentacyclic triterpenoid isolated from the bark of white birch (Betula pubescens), against chronic alcohol-induced lipid accumulation and metaflammation. AML-12 and RAW 264.7 cells were administered ethanol (EtOH), lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or BT. Male C57BL/6 mice were fed Lieber-DeCarli liquid diets containing 5% EtOH for 4 weeks, followed by single EtOH gavage on the last day and simultaneous treatment with BT (20 or 50 mg/kg) by oral gavage once per day. In vitro, MTT showed that 0-25 mM EtOH and 0-25 µM BT had no toxic effect on AML-12 cells. BT could regulate sterolregulatory-element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1), lipin1/2, P2X7 receptor (P2X7r) and NOD-like receptor family, pyrin domains-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) expressions again EtOH-stimulation. Oil Red O staining also indicated that BT significantly reduced lipid accumulation in EtOH-stimulated AML-12 cells. Lipin1/2 deficiency indicated that BT might mediate lipin1/2 to regulate SREBP1 and P2X7r expression and further alleviate lipid accumulation and inflammation. In vivo, BT significantly alleviated histopathological changes, reduced serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and triglyceride (TG) levels, and regulated lipin1/2, SREBP1, peroxisome proliferator activated receptor α/γ (PPARα/γ) and PGC-1α expression compared with the EtOH group. BT reduced the secretion of inflammatory factors and blocked the P2X7r-NLRP3 signaling pathway. Collectively, BT attenuated lipid accumulation and metaflammation by regulating the lipin1/2-mediated P2X7r signaling pathway.

Two new formulae for the design of beam-columns at room temperature have been proposed into Eurocode 3, prEN 1993-1-1 (2002), and are the result of great efforts made by two working groups that followed different approaches, a French-Belgian team and an Austrian-German one. Under fire conditions the prEN 1993-1-2 (structural fire design) presents formulae, for the design of beam-columns based on the prENV 1993-1-1 (1992). In order to study the possibility of having, in part 1-1 and part 1-2 of the Eurocode 3, the same approach, a numerical research was made using the finite element program SAFIR, developed at the University of Liege for the study of structures subjected to fire.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the biological mechanism of orally administered ethanolic extract of fly maggot(EM) on hypocholesterolemic rats fed a high-cholesterol diet. Sprague Dawley male rats were divided into four groups (EM dose control=0, 5.0, 7.0, and 9.0 mg/100 g BW) and were treated for 6 weeks. EM groups revealed a significant reduction in serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, and LDL-C when compared with the control group(p<0.05). HMG-CoA reductase activity in EM groups were lower than those of the control group, but total sterol, neutral sterol, and bile acid excretion were increased in EM groups when compared with the control group(p<0.05). To identify the biological mechanism of EM towards the hypocholesterolemic effect, sterol response element binding proteins (SREBPs) and the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors ($PPAR{\alpha}$ transcription system were determined in rats fed a high-cholesterol diet. It was discovered that EM suppress the expression of SREBP-$1{\alpha}$ and SREBP-2 mRNA in the liver tissues of high-cholesterol diet fed rats, while simultaneously increasing the expression of $PPAR{\alpha}$ mRNA(p<0.05). This finding indicates that EM may have hypocholesterolemic effects in rats fed a high-cholesterol diet, by regulating cholesterol metabolism-related biochemical parameters and SREBP-$1{\alpha}$ SREPB-2 and $PPAR{\alpha}$gene expression.
Purpose: The present study was to determine the stress distribution of an abutment screw according to implant abutment material. Methods: This study was a tightening torque 10 Ncm, 20 Ncm, set to 30 Ncm, and a titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V), PEEK (polyetheretherketone), Endoligns (60% Carbon Fiber Reinforced PEEK) material of the custom abutment titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) the stress distribution in the material of the abutment screw will be evaluated by the finite element analysis. Results: Abutment screw most stress has been concentrated on the interface between the fixture and the abutment was also part of the interface that the threads are started. Depending on the abutment of the abutment screw Material von Mises stress values are shown differently. 10Ncm T10 under the tightening torque of 294.2 MPa, P10 is 562.8 MPa, appeared to E10 is 295.8 MPa, 20Ncm tightening torque under T20 is 581.1 MPa, P20 is 1125 MPa, E20 was shown to 585.1 MPa, 30Ncm tightening torque under T30 is 918.2 MPa, P30 is 1795 MPa, E30 has appeared 925.1 MPa. Conclusion: If the abutment is used as Endoligns, it was confirmed that the abutment screw exhibits of von Mises stress value is similar to the titanium alloy abutment.
The prediction of clad surface temperatures is important to the design and the safety anlaysis of nuclear reactor. The accurate prediction requires the detailed knowledge of the flow structure and heat transfer, which is complicate due to anisotropic turbulent phenomena. A two-equation model including anisotropic eddy viscosity model is applied to forecast the velocity distribution. And the temperature field is calculated with uniform wall heat flux. The Galerkin's weighted residual finite element method has been used to calculate the turbulent quantities right up to the wall. The numerical results show good agreement with available data and that turbulence anisotropy strongly affects on the mean flow and thus the temperature field. And Nu-P/D correlation is established for sodium coolant in close-packed equilateral triangular bundle in the P/D range of 1.05 to 1.30.
