도재 및 레진 브라켓에 대한 광중합 접착제의 전단 접착 강도 (Shear bond strength of ceramic and resin brackets used with visible light-cured adhesives)

  • 성인 환자의 증가와 심미적인 장치에 대한 요구가 증가하면서 도재나 레진 브라켓의 사용이 증가되고 있다. 이러한 브라켓에서의 광중합 접착제의 사용은 짧은 광조사 시간에서도 광중합 접착제의 많은 장점을 얻을 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 심미적으로 우수한 수 종의 도재 및 레진 브라켓을 수 종의 광중합 접착제로 접착시켜 전단 접착 강도와 접착 파절 양상을 관찰하였다. 교정 치료를 위해 발거한 140개의 소구치를 협측면이 노출되도록 자가중합 레진으로 매몰하고 소구치 협측면에 Plastlc bracket, Transcend 6000, Signature 및 Starfire TMB 브라켓을 Orthobond, Light Bond 및 Transbond로 제조자 지시에 따라 접착시켜 열변환기 로 1800회 온도 변화를 준 후 전단 접착 강도를 만능시험기로 측정하고 접착 파절 양상을 입체현미경으로 관찰하였고 10초와 20초의 광조사 시간과 두가지 광원에 대해 전단 접착 강도를 비교하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 1. 동일한 브라켓을 Orthobond, Light Bond와 Transbond로 접착시켰을 때 이들간의 전단 접착 강도는 Plastic bracket을 제외하고는 통계학적 유의차가 없었다(p<0.05). 2. 동일한 접착제로 Plastic bracket, Transcend 6000, Signature, Starfire TMB를 접착시켰을 때 이들간의 전단 접착강도는 통계학적 유의차를 보였다(p<0.05). Starfire TMB에서 가장 큰 전단 접착강도를 보였고 이는 Transcend 6000과 통계학적 유의차가 없었으나 Singnature와는 통계학적 유의차를 보였다(p<0.05). 3. 접착 파절은 전체 군에서 잔류 접착제가 반 이상 또는 모두 치아면에 남은 경우가 $72.1\%$로 대개 브라켓과 접착제 사이에서 파절이 일어났다. 4. 접착제 중합을 위한 광조사 시간은 10초와 20초에서 전단 접착 강도에 통계학적 유의차를 보이지 않았으며 $400mW/cm^2$ 이상의 광도에서는 서로 다른 광원을 사용해도 전단 접착 강도에 통계학적 유의차를 나타내지 않았다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과로 보아 도재 브라켓의 전단 접착강도는 브라켓 조성과 브라켓 접착면의 유지형태 차이에 의해 영향을 받고 광중합 접착제 종류에 따른 접착 강도의 차이는 나타나지 않았으며 임상에서 브라켓이나 접착제 선택시 이를 고려해야 할 것으로 사료된다.

mPW1PW91 Calculated Structures and IR Spectra of the Conformational Stereoisomers of C-Cyanophenyl Pyrogallol[4]arene

  • Molecular structures of the various conformational stereoisomers of 2,8,14,20-cyanophenyl pyrogallol[4]arenes 1 were optimized using the mPW1PW91 (hybrid Hartree-Fock density functional) calculation method. The total electronic and Gibbs free energies and the normal vibrational frequencies of the different structures from three major conformations (CHAIR, TABLE, and 1,2-Alternate) of the four stereoisomers [1(rccc), 1(rcct), 1(rctt), and 1(rtct)] were analyzed. The mPW1PW91/6-31G(d,p) calculations suggested that $1(rcct)_{1,2-A}$, 1(rctt)CHAIR, and $1(rtct)_{CHAIR}$ were the more stable conformations of the respective stereoisomers. Hydrogen bonding is the primary factor for the relative stabilities of the various conformational isomers, and maximizing the ${\pi}-{\pi}$ interaction between the cyanophenyl rings is the secondary factor. The calculated IR spectra of the more stable conformers [$1(rctt)_{CHAIR}$, $1(rcct)_{1,2-A}$, $1(rtct)_{CHAIR}$] were compared with the experimental IR spectrum of $1(rtct)_{CHAIR}$.

Surface modification for block copolymer nanolithographyon gold surface

  • Block copolymer lithography has attracted great attention for emerging nanolithography since nanoscaleperiodic patterns can be easily obtained through self-assembly process without conventional top-down patterning process. Since the morphologies of self-assembled block copolymer patterns are strongly dependent on surface energy of a substrate, suitable surface modification is required. Until now, the surface modification has been studied by using random copolymer or self-assembled mono layers (SAMs). However, the research on surface modifications has been limited within several substrates such as Si-based materials. In present study, we investigated the formation of block copolymer on Au substrate by $O_2$ plasma treatment with the SAM of 3-(p-methoxy-phenyl)propyltrichloro-silane [MPTS, $CH_3OPh(CH_2)_3SiCl_3$]. After $O_2$ plasma treatment, the chemical bonding states of the surface were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The static contact angle measurement was performed to study the effects of $O_2$ plasma treatment on the formation of MPTS monolayer. The block copolymer nanotemplates formed on Au surface were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that the ordering of self-assembled block copolymer pattern and the formation of cylindrical nano hole arrays were enhanced dramatically by oxygen plasma treatment. Thus, the oxidation of gold surface by $O_2$ plasma treatment enables the MPTS to form the monolayer assembly leading to surface neutralization of gold substrates.

  • Lasting machines for shoe manufacturing are continuously developed with the aid of automation and CAM(Computer Aided Manufacturing). Although automation and CAM techniques have tremendously reduced the labor in shoe manufacturing, there still remain some parts manufactured by experts. In order to enhance the capability and efficiency of machines for labor-free shoe manufacturing, CAD data of a shoe last is essential. While CAD datarization takes the fundamental role in the shoe design and manufacturing, there has been little research for the CAD datarization of a shoe last. In this paper, a new procedure for CAD datarization of a shoe last using finite element patches and a tension sl)line method is proposed for application to shoe manufacturing machines. The outer line of a shoe-last sole is interpolated by a tension spline method and bonding lines are extracted from the shoe CAD data. Data set for a control algorithm of the tasting machine can be produced from the CAD data.

Geometries and Relative Stabilities of AlN Four-Membered-Ring Compound Isomers: Ab initio Study

  • Using ab initio method, we have studied the structural stabilities, the electronic structures and properties between the two isomers with $C_{2h}$ and $C_{2v}$ symmetry of AlN four-membered-ring single precursors $[Me_2AlNHR]_2$ (R = Me, $^iPr$, and $^iBu$). In the viewpoint of bond lengths in optimized structures, the N-C bonds are considerably affected by the change of the R groups bonded to nitrogen, but the bonding characters of the Al-N and Al-C bonds are little affected. Also the structural stabilities between the two isomers with $C_{2h}$ and $C_{2v}$ symmetry by using Hartree-Fock (HF) and the second order Moeller-Pleset (MP2) calculations agree well with the experimental results for the relative stability of bis(dimethyl- m-isopropylamido-aluminum) (BDPA) and bis(dimethyl- m-t-butylamido-aluminum) (BDBA), while the semiempirical AM1 and PM3 calculations for BDPA were reverse. Thus, our results may aid in designing an optimum precursor for a given process by explaining the experimental results through the elimination of the R groups bonded to nitrogen.

Biochemical characterization of ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase interaction with flavodoxin in Pseudomonas putida

  • Flavodoxin (Fld) has been demonstrated to bind to ferredoxin-NADP$^+$ reductase A (FprA) in Pseudomonas putida. Two residues ($Phe^{256}$, $Lys^{259}$) of FprA are likely to be important for interacting with Fld based on homology modeling. Site-directed mutagenesis and pH-dependent enzyme kinetics were performed to further examine the role of these residues. The catalytic efficiencies of FprA-$Ala^{259}$ and FprA-$Asp^{259}$ proteins were two-fold lower than those of the wild-type FprA. Homology modeling also strongly suggested that these two residues are important for electron transfer. Thermodynamic properties such as entropy, enthalpy, and heat capacity changes of FprA-$Ala^{259}$ and FprA-$Asp^{259}$ were examined by isothermal titration calorimetry. We demonstrated, for the first time, that $Phe^{256}$ and $Lys^{259}$ are critical residues for the interaction between FprA and Fld. Van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonding were also more important than ionic interactions for forming the FprA-Fld complex.

대두섬유에 대한 자초색소의 염색성 및 항균성 (Dyeing Properties and Antimicrobial Activity of Soybean Fiber with Gromwell Colorants)

  • Dyeing properties of soybean fabrics on gromwell colorants were studied for the effect of dyeing conditions, such as colorants concentration, temperature, time and pH on the dye uptake and effect of mordants on color change, dye uptake and various colorfastness. Antimicrobial activity of soybean fabrics dyed and sim-mordanted with gromwell colorants was examined by shake flask method. Gromwell colorants showed considerably affinity to soybean fabric and its isotherm adsorption curve was Freundlich type. Therefore, it is considered that hydrogen bonding and Van der Waals force were involved in the adsorption of gromwell colorants to soybean fabric. Soybean fabrics showed R color on Al, Cu and Sn mordant, RP color on Cr and Fe mordant, but soybean fabrics showed low dye uptake depending on mordanting treatment. Light colorfastness was increased for Cr and Fe mordants. Staphylococcus aureus reduction rates were above 90% for Cr and Cu mordanted soybean fabrics, and the others were poor. Klebsiella pneumoniae reduction rates soybean fabrics did not show reduction rate hardly.

몇 가지 용매가 양모의 저온염색에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Several Solvents on Low Temperature Wool Dyeing)

  • To reduce the dependence of wool dyeing on the temperature several solvents with different properties and structures were added to the dye bath of C. I. Acid Yellow 42. Nearly the same total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$) of solvents as those of wool fiber and hydrophobic part of the dyestuff were needed to increase disaggregation of dye molecules, loosening the wool fiber and wickabilty of dyeing solution; besides, the large surface tension(${\gamma}$) value of the solvents and the well balanced values of the three-component Hansen solubility parameters such as dispersion(${\delta}_d$), polar(${\delta}_p$), and hydrogen(${\delta}_h$) bonding parameters were required. Among the added solvents dimethyl phthalate(DMP) and acetophenone(AP) were satisfied with these conditions and worked the most successfully in the low temperature wool dyeing. Their effectiveness proven by the dyeing rate and the activation energy ($E_a$) of the dyeing was in the order of DMP > AP > DBE > CH > M >NONE. In conclusion the total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$), the three-component Hansen parameters and the surface tension(${\gamma}$) of DMP and AP could be the guidelines to select suitable solvents for low temperature wool dyeing.

  • Dyeing properties of silk fabric on gromwell roof colorants were studied for the effect of dyeing conditions, such as methanol ratio, colorants concentration, pH, temperature and time etc. on the dye uptake and effect of mordants and mordanting methods on color change and dye uptake. And various colorfastnesses of dyed fabrics were evaluated far practical use. Gromwell colorants showed high affinity to silk and its isotherm adsorption curve was Freundlich type close to Nernst type. Therefore, it is considered that hydrogen bonding and Van der Waals force were involved in the adsorption of cromwell colorants to silk fabric. Post-mordanting method gave higher K/S value than other methods, but it was not significantly different color values from unmordanted one. Gromwell colorants produced mainly R and RP color depending on mordants and mordanting method. Dyed fabrics showed high colorfastness irrespective of mordanting treatment. Light colorfastness was increased for repeatedly dyed and Fe mordanted dyed fabrics.

Synthesis and Drug-Releasing Behavior of Various Polymeric Prodrugs of PGE1 with PEG and Its Derivative as Polymer Carriers

  • Two polymeric prodrugs of PGE1 (prodrugs IVg and PNg) were newly synthesized. The drug conjugation proceeded in quantitative yield without decomposition of PGE1 to PGA1. With two types conjugates, PEG-PGE1 and PN-PGE1 with different spacer groups, we first discovered a possibility of slow release of PGE1 in blood circulatory system. PGE1 is conjugated with PEG and PN through the long alkylene spacers, and their availability as polymeric prodrugs is evaluated. Their drug-releasing behavior was examined both in phosphate buffer (pH=7.4) and rat plasma. Each prodrug was known to be highly stabile in the buffer solution. The drug-releasing rate became much faster in rat plasma than in the buffer solution due to the acceleration by the plasma enzymes. The drug-release was found to reach a plateau in rat plasma because the released PGE1 or its derivatives may be captured or decomposed by the plasma proteins. The slower drug-releasing rate of pro drug PNg in rat plasma is reasonably attributed to the molecular aggregation due to the hydrophobic bonding between the PGE1 moieties and spacers.
