  • We introduced a small-sized automatic model helicopter for using in the remote sensing. The feature of our helicopter system is that the helicopter system is realized using commercialized radio-controlled model helicopter, whose payload is 1.5 kg. Therefore, our system has may benefits when apply our system to practical tasks. The compactness and light-weight of our system is realized by the introduction of our original technique to suppress the vibration noise using a slimy material as well as the introduction of latest sensors and semiconductor products. Submerging the acceleration sensor into a slimy material, moise ratio is highly improved. In this paper, we show an experimental results for the effect of our orignal technique to remove the vibration noise of helicopter. The result of hovering flying test shows the effectiveness of our system.

  • The effect of impurities of andalusite on the morphology of the crystallization of mullite was investigated. The raw, concentrated and purified andalusite were fired at 145$0^{\circ}C$. and 150$0^{\circ}C$. Each of three grades of andalusite was examined in a scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer and etc. The raw andalusite showed deeply etched textures and prismatic crystals which are estimated to be an average of 2.5u in width and 15u in length. Concentrated andalusite showed poorly formed and elongated prismatic crystals. Purified andalusite showed condensed needle-like crystals which are estimated to be an average of 0.4$\mu$ in width and 2.0$\mu$ in length, but at the boundary of the original andalusite grain, prismatic crystals were seen. It is supposed that the purified andalusite is able to utilize as a raw material for high alumina refractories with refractoriness S.K. 38.

  • This study examined the effects of particle size on characteristics of cement by controlling the particle size of commercial cement. Through a size adjustment, the cement has increasing more of particles that are less than $10{\mu}m$ in size so the initial reaction time has been shortened as a result of improvement in the early hydration reaction. Additionally, it showed a great characteristics of strength from the early age and the initial hydration heat has been increased as well. In the upper and middle parts cements, the initial hydration reaction rate contribution is high with the $10{\mu}m$ compared to original cement. So the initial hydration reaction rate is improved and as a result, it also showed relatively high hydration heat as well. Additionally, adiabatic temperature also showed an increase rate in the results.

  • As the integrated circuit device shrinks to the smaller dimension, the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process was required for the global planarization of inter-metal dielectric (IMD) layer with free-defect. However, as the IMD layer gets thinner, micro-scratches are becoming as major defects. Micro-scratches are generated by agglomerated slurry, solidified and attached slurry in pipe line of slurry supply system. It is well known that the presence of hard and larger size particles in the CMP slurries increases the defect density and surface roughness of the polished wafers. In this paper, we have studied aging effect the of CMP slurry as a function of particle size. We prepared and compared the self-developed silica slurry by adding of abrasives before and after annealing. As our preliminary experiment results, we could be obtained the relatively stable slurry characteristics comparable to original silica slurry in the slurry aging effect.

  • As the device feature size is reduced to the deep sub-micron regime, the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) technology is widely recognized as the most promising method to achieve the global planarization of the multilevel interconnection for ULSI applications. However, cost of ownership (COO) and cost of consumables (COC) were relatively increased because of expensive slurry. In this paper, the effects of different slurry composition on the oxide CMP characteristics were investigated to obtain the higher removal rate and lower non-uniformity. We prepared the various kinds of slurry. In order to save the costs of slurry, the original slurry was diluted by de-ionized water (DIW). And then, alunima abrasives were added in the diluted slurry in order to promote the mechanical force of diluted slurry.

  • PET bottles were composed of several different materials such as PET, HDPE, PVC and PP, it is necessary for recycling of PET bottles to precede seperation of each material. This study is purposed of recycling of PET bottles by separation using float and sink method. Pure PET is obtained a proportion of 94% on condition that bottle labels were removed by using tap water. In case the labels were attached on the bottles, PET was unable to obtain because of PVC and PET sink, and PP and HDPE float. Therefore, the labels should be removed before separation of PVC lebels substituted for PP or PE material. The various physical properties of recovered PET and HDPE were measured and compared with the original PET and HDPE, and it is identified that recycling is possible as a result.

  • We have investigated the effect of the pad surface characteristics such as roughness, groove density and wear of pad on within wafer non-uniformity(WIWNU) in chemical mechanical polishing(CMP). We found that WIWNU increases as pad surface roughness($R_{pk}$; Reduced peak height) increases in an early stage of polishing. But after polishing time goes to a certain extent, WIWNU decreases as uniformity of pad surface roughness. Also, groove of pad has effect on relative pad stiffness although original mechanical properties of pad are unchanged by grooving. WIWNU decreases as relative pad stiffness decreases. In addition, conditioning process causes non-uniform wear of pad during in CMP. The profile of pad wear has a significant effect on WIWNU.

  • The Pseudo-MOSFET measurements technique has been used for the electrical characterization of the nano SOL Silicon islands for the Pseudo-MOS measurements were fabricated by selective etching of surface silicon film with dry or wet etching to examine the effects of the etching process on the device properties. The characteristics of the Pseudo-MOS was not changed greatly in the case of thick SOI film which was 205 nm. However the characteristics of the device was dependent on etching process in the case of less than 100 nm thick SOI film. The sub 100nm SOI was obtained by thinning the silicon film of standard thick SOI. The thickness of SOI film was varied from 88 nm to 44 nm by chemical etching. The etching process effects on the properties of pseudo-MOSFET characteristics, such as mobility, turn-on voltage, and drain current transient. The etching process dependency is greater in the thinner SOI and related to original SOI wafer quality.

  • Probabilistic buckling behavior of sandwich panel considering random system parameters using a radial basis function (RBF) approach is presented in this paper. The random system properties result in an uncertain response of the sandwich structure. The buckling load of laminated sandwich panel is obtained by employing higher-order-zigzag theory (HOZT) coupled with RBF and probabilistic finite element (FE) model. The in-plane displacement variation of core as well as facesheet is considered to be cubic while transverse displacement is considered to be quadratic within the core and constant in the facesheets. Individual and combined stochasticity in all elemental input parameters (like facesheets thickness, ply-orientation angle, core thickness and properties of material) are considered to know the effect of different degree of stochasticity, ply- orientation angle, boundary conditions, core thickness, number of laminates, and material properties on global response of the structure. In order to achieve the computational efficiency, RBF model is employed as a surrogate to the original finite element model. The stiffness matrix of global response is stored in a single array using skyline technique and simultaneous iteration technique is used to solve the stochastic buckling equations.
